iPhone 3GS (Speed)
iPhone 4S (Siri)
iPhone 5S (Security)
iPhone 6S (?)
Snapshot, if there is a big enough camera upgrade, or perhaps sensitivity, if they add force touch.
Did they actually stand for this?
I don't think it was officially stated that is what they stood for.
It's always been speed. Never meant anything else.
Unofficially, but also within Apple I believe.
There will be some changes in the S model but never as many as we all wish for. Force Touch seems to be the most interesting and how Aplle will use it in the S model.
iPhone 6S - What will the "S" stand for this time?
With the 4S wasn't it rumored that the S was supposed to stand for "Steve"? As in 4 Steve.... Ala.... For Steve
iPhone 6 for suckers
I'm on the non-S cycle
Nope, they did not
I remember when the C was announced Tim said colourful/classy. I think that was a joke..... The s just means an upgraded phone, c being an alternative phone.
Called it back then....
They aren't doing sapphire screens just yet. I think it will be force touch if anything 'sensitivity'.
Sensitivity- force touch.
I think back in the day when the 3GS was rolled out, it stood for speed, after that, it was just a differentiator, that is, it really didn't mean anything.
I believe in either the 5S or the 5 launch, 4S did stand for "Siri". Someone has said that in a keynote. I could go back and look but it's time for me to head to the office.
It will mean it's the second edition of the 6.
All it has ever stood for.
Will unofficially stand for 'specs' because the 6 Plus needs better ones.
For the Plus they will forgo the S and call it
iPhone 6 ++
