Same here. i ordered at 3:14 AM 9/9- when checking order it says 12:42 EST PM......wth
Some tech bloggers (like daringfireball.net) go into quite an amount of detail about this.
Essentially, yes, micro abrasions are apparently quite easy to scuff into the Jet Black model. Of course, such abrasions can only be seen when the light angle hits the back of the phone just right, so take that as you will.
For my wife and I, we went Matte Black all the way, as we'll both have covers/holsters which will cover up most of the phone anyway.
Aside from that, I liked that everyone went after the JB and let the MB have a higher inventory 🙂

it's happened before. It happened to me last year and I received it on release day.
I just checked my bank and there is no trace of Att ever charging my card, but when I check my credit card limit i can tell it is still there because I don't owe anything on my card and it's almost $100 short. so even though it is not in my transactions it is still there.
What wear issues? There are no "wear issues". All you have is troll media that has to find some way to criticize Apple or they won't get a single ad impression, playing up the same angle that every glossy black product in the history of the world has to deal with.
These are not the kinds of things normal people worry about. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh.

What are they using for the reference number? You might want to change that in your photo. It only shows 9 digits, so it's not the phone number.

It depends on how you bought it.
I bought for the wife and I on an AT&T Upgrade Every Year plan. Therefore, tax was immediately charged on both phones at order time. Then, at activation, the installment plan begins. This is precisely how things went with our iPhone 6 Pluses two years ago.

It is a tad harsh mate. I may be worried about the quality of a large purchase I am making, which I think is reasonable. I mean, if you are on this forum in the first place you probably have a bit more interest in a cell phone than you probably ought to. But this should be a place where people can discuss things they are thinking about as it relates to the iPhone without bringing judgement into the mix.
I'm not worried about the smudging. I'm getting a minimal clear case. The jet black seems special to me. Especially being that the 7 is the most subtle "new" iPhone ever I wanted something that truly felt new.

Just checking in with everyone. My order still reads "preparing for shipment" online but with the text service it reads "in progress" figure they both mean the same thing so im not to concerned. I've also accepted the fact that my shipment window of 9/23-9/30 is accurate. No harm no foul, it was always a bonus if I got it early anyways. For those curious I preordered the Matte Black 7+ 128g.
yeah i want to know if there is any specific information that is the reference number

Not so much giving up (ill save that for tomorrow morning) but accepting of the facts. Kinda like the end of the Dark Knight Rises where Batman takes the bomb out over the water and he has that look on his face like "ok this is where I die and im ok with that". Basically im Batman right now. Of course he survived (spoilers) so all hope is not lost.
I've been using this forum for a while to see if anyone's 7P Matte Black has shipped since I have a "preparing shipping" with 9/23-9/30 delivery date. When i used the *6737# the text told me my order was "in progress". Is that a good sign or is that bad?
