So, 2 of my 4 orders were cancelled by ATT - I called there was some issue with next she couldn't explain. Anyway, after being on the phone with ATT Premier for over 2 hours, the 2 cancelled orders have been fixed and both are preparing to ship!

I ordered the 256gb Matte Black Plus at 3:05AM.
I didn't receive a confirmation email until 8:00AM this morning.
Once received it was shot straight to preparing to ship. Dates of Sept 23-30/
This will be my first ever iPhone. Making the switch from Android for the first time. I am really hoping I will get this on the 16th!

While this is not my first iPhone, it is my first using the AT&T Next program after having it for almost 2 year2. Your experience was similar to mine. My order time was 3:04 for my 7+ B 256GB and my fiance's was ordered at 3:22 for her 7+ Silver 128GB. Both are preparing to ship on the dates of Sept 23-30. The confirmations e-mails for hers occurred within 10-20 minutes of her order. My confirmation occurred around 6:00AM.
For those new to the process. People in this thread get crazy sometimes. I mean, we all must be right?
This is my 4th pre-order. I did the 4, 5, 6Plus, and now 7Plus. Only 1 out of 3 times thus far, I have received the phone after launch day.
Iphone 4 (2010): Pre-ordered in June. Don't have all the details, but similar process as below. Received on-time.
Iphone 5 (2012): Pre-ordered at 1pm on , shows back ordered straight away with 9/21 delivery and also email stating 14-21 business days. On 9/19 (release day) I received my Tracking Number, status changed to "Shipped" and I received my Iphone5 ontime.
Iphone 6Plus (2014): Pre-ordered 1:53am on 9/12, received all the normal emails with ship dates 10/2-10/13. Email received on 9/18 confirming late ship dates. On 9/27 I received on shipping notification and it arrived on 9/29 (10 days late as opposed to well into October, however there were factory issues with the Iphone Plus that were announced if i recall)
Iphone 7Plus (2016): Pre-ordered 3:01am on 9/9 and received shipping notification 9/23 - 9/30. I am feeling it I will receive it ontime. I can't imagine any company has the infrastructure to successfully pull off such a massive pre-order without any snags considering the demand year after year.

It's funny because, I got the confirmation email while I was waiting to talk to an AT&T rep. Initially my order was stuck under the installment plans section as "pending". I was going to ask if there was a hang up on my end, and if they could push me up to atleast processing. It all worked out eventually though. Fingers crossed to get it on launch day.

Thanks for the post, mattkwi. Only 1 out of 3 coming to you after launch day gives me hope. I have other people telling me as well, that in the past they were due to have the iPhone 2 or 3 weeks out from launch, only to get it on launch day it self. Hopefully that is the case for us as well. Cheers!

I don't have time to read through all the posts, but I'm sure just like every year there are a bunch of people freaking out about ship dates well past the release day. I am sure there will be many phones that don't make it on ship day, but for most people that ordered within the first several hours of pre order they will see their phone on the 16th. I have seen this for the last 3 years myself, and got caught up in all the zaniness, only to get my shiny new toy delivered to my doorstep right on time. And I won't pretend to be the one of the special ones who by the grace of the Apple Gods was able to get through and place my order minutes before the presale even started (bs, in my opinion), and I have never been within a few minutes after either. Last year I was three hours past midnight, still got my box on time. So calm down, you will get your phone

Sorry to inform you but, no, the soonest your phone is scheduled to be shipped is October 28th. This is because the jet black that you ordered is very popular and the sold out quickly.
One good thing I can tell you from experience is that Apple has historically under promised and over performed. By this I mean that although your ship date is October 28, this may be moved up by a couple of weeks and you could see it sometime after October 15th.
I just got off the phone with ATT ordering my 7+ 256GB Silver, and have an shipping date of 24 September, however I have good hopes that I'll see it closer to September 20th. I do hope so anyway as I will be out of town on the 24th.

Stupid question: I just pre-ordered iPhone 7 (gold). My grandfathered bill is around $89 a month. So, by doing the AT&T upgrade or Next program. Does that mean I will add about $30 on top of the $89?
