Hopefully my ship date moves up. The order time went from 3:08:30 to 3:02:38 which I found odd.

I bet you see yours on the 16th, and I (even though it says october 14-21) see mine on the 16th as well.
Does anyone know if you can just walk into any ATT store and pre order the phone there? Or does it have to be online?
You can do it in a store. But I would suspect that you will be placed in line behind everyone else who has ordered online. I'm interested in knowing if you can line up on the 16th outside an att store and pick one up then and there.
Trust me same here... order placed at 3:14 AM EST and my window is 10/4-10/10 while I am seeing people order hours later with my same carrier and they are getting shipments out soon? This is a 7 Plus 128 GB in matte black.
There are so many orders in the queue that it probably isn't a queue anymore lol. I am hoping next week Monday or Tuesday I'll get tracking info though...
I'm just curious, did anyone actually get their Plus 256GB Jet Black delivering on release date?
I agree -- this has happened to me a few times in the past and each time I still got the phone on launch day.
This was my post in another thread at 3:30 or so (although I actually got in at 3:04 or so):
FINALLY!! My God, that was painful. But, 7+ black, 256gb. Delivers between 9/27 and 9/29. <grumble>
I think that part of the problem was that AT&T was going to allow me to change the shipping address, but every time I did and tried to place my order they gave me an error. When I finally got through on Apple, after several timeouts, it told me that it had to ship to my billing address, and I couldn't change it. So I thought "whatever" and hit continue, and FINALLY went through to the Thank You, order has been placed screen.
Why give the option, AT&T, if you don't allow shipping to any other address!?
By the way, watch order went through without a hitch, delivery 9/16. Glad I did that separately.

I ordered the same phone at almost the exact same time as you and have the same date. My thought on people ordering later and getting an earlier date is that they ordered from somewhere other than the Apple website, like from AT&T website or something.
I'm still crossing my fingers that I'll get it next Friday.

I have a small MALL store near me.. ATT that is.. Last year when I had second thoughts about the 6S I'd just received on launch day I decided I wanted a PLUS instead.. And I walked into that store.. on SATURDAY after launch day.. And they still had PLENTY of PLUS phones in all varieties.. Even 2 Rose Gold PLUS which sold out quick last year.. So the key is to find 'off the beaten trail places like ATT Stores in small malls, BEst Buys, Target Stores.. You can find what you want on launch day and the Saturday after even.. if you're 'eager'.. and don't mind driving around half the day.. LOL.. I walked home with the 64GB 6SPlus Space Grey that I have now.. on Sat after launch day.
I do NOT think they do pre-ordering in store. They'd just sell you phone after launch day.
I went in yesterday to my local AT&T shop and was able to place a pre-order for the 7plus matte black 128G. They took all my information down but was not able to actually place the order in til this morning. Got my confirmation email this morning. Not sure how I got so lucky but the order looks like it was placed at 8:49:12 am and I was still able to get a estimated ship date of 9/23-9/30. The order status reads "preparing to ship" so im hoping that estimated time window is a worst case scenario and I will get it sooner.
