“Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores. During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers. Availability at partner locations for all finishes may vary and we recommend checking directly with them,” reads Apple's official statement.

I blame the Apple Upgrade people. They took our phones.

In all honesty, that actually may be true. They needed to "re-allocate supply".

I am a newbie, thought I'd share.

Preordered a bit later:
Order date: 09/09/2016 at 6:20:29 a.m. ET
Matte black 7 Plus 256 gig.
Estimated ship dates:
September 23, 2016 - September 30, 2016

I am stuck in the preparing to ship zone like a lot of people here.

I am in the Dayton Ohio area, anyone else in Ohio have any luck?
I am also in Dayton (Go Flyers!). Ordered mine the 9th at 9pm in the ATT Store. My status:

Order status:
Preparing to ship
We're getting your order ready to ship. Expect your items to ship during the dates we gave you.
Thank you for placing your order with us.
Estimated ship dates:
October 7, 2016 - October 14, 2016

From what I've read, Apple had to take some of their inventory from Best Buy to fulfill those who are doing the iPhone Upgrade Program. Because of this, they are providing those who pre-ordered from Best Buy a $100.00 store credit (I think?!).

Someone on Verizon said he ordered through apple and picked his up from the UPS store this morning. He was shocked there wasn't anyone in line waiting for the store to open to pick up their deliveries.
Sorry I misread, he got his silver 256 +this morning, his JB is set for 9/28 delivery. He has tracking info for it.

Sorry to those whose phone is a part of the low inventory section!
My conclusion is that, regardless the time you placed your order, if you ordered one of the phones in high demand but little availability, you're going to get it at a later date; with the pre-order, you're guaranteed a phone whereas those who walk in to a store to purchase, are not. Unfortunately, that guarantee doesn't necessarily cover Launch Day. Also, we can't fully blame AT&T as they can only do with what they have. It seems Apple is prioritizing its direct customers over the carriers, and they sent very little inventory to partners.

Also, try to be patient with an AT&T rep if you speak with one today. I worked in customer support for two years and the CSR cannot control anything; they are only telling you information that's been passed to them, and they personally have ZERO control over any of it. This week has been a headache for all I'm sure, and it's a nice relief when they speak with an understanding and patient customer, or at least one who doesn't mouth off to them when they can't do anything. ;)

Sadly my biggest "worry" is seeing my phone move from "At local FedEx facility" to "Out for delivery" and it's already after 9:00am CST...normally the deliveries are on the truck by 8:00. I know I'll be getting it today, but it's still that anxious wait to see movement and know it's getting closer!

iPhone 7 (reg.) - RG - 128GB.

Hang in there, friends!

Just a theory....

Apple may have used the same battery supplier that Samsung used. There could have been a "recall" on alot of the Pluses due to that. Therefore, the shortage.

Remember all these frustrations, next year when the iPhone 8 or whatever it will be called, is launched. I wonder if Apple will be any better prepared.

The shipping dates apparently don't mean ****.

How do you figure they don't mean anything?
Maybe you should hit up that Sunday Worship instead. Maybe that would do you some good! Yes, people are upset. Is it a big deal? Not really, but you're a new member who signed up to get pre order updates, yet you're bashing people who are just looking for simple pre order updates. You are on the same level as the ATT team. Clueless.

Again there seems to be more confusion. I am not bashing anyone who is just looking for more information, nor am I here looking for more information since no one on here would have any idea about my particular order. What I am questioning is how folks who don't have a launch day shipping date are upset that there phone isn't here on launch date. Im not talking about the order in which you ordered. Im not talking about FIFO. Im not talking about order place time. Im simply wondering why someone who got a ship date on any day besides 9/16 are upset or surprised their phone isn't here.

Ordered a silver 128gb 7 plus preorder day with a shipping window of Oct. 7th - 14th. Still haven't heard anything at all.

Oh wow, didn't know that

Just came back from a Best Buy and AT&T store in Langhorne, PA. They have 0 Plus's and only regular 7's in non-black colors.

I'm on the initial Plus 128 JB - Oct 14th-21st, i'll be patient ;)

They most definitely did use the same supplier. They're listed as one of Apples partners.
Doesn't mean they used the same bad batteries but the supplier is the same.

Because Peogle with dates as early as October already had theirs ship while people with 9/23 have not. That's why I said they don't mean ****

Yup I heard now Best Buy doesn't have enough inventory to fulfill preorders. I feel badly for those in that situation.
