Right. Also my neighbor could have ordered from Apple.com, or BestBuy, or Tmobile / Sprint etc. I have no idea where he ordered from.

Thanks for the info. I have the same order, same status, but don't feel like sitting for hours on hold with ATT's reps. I was hoping to get notification today about a Monday delivery but now it sounds like it could be around two weeks.
Is everyone just swapping sims from 6/6s to 7?

I ordered the same phone after you and my date has said 9/16 the entire time.
Still don't have it though. Nor a tracking number.
So I think no matter what ATT is full of crap. I called the local store to see if it was possible to get one in store and cancel, figuring unlikely and the guy told me two things - one that the website and store preorders were separate stock which is neither here nor there, but that store preorders had priority over web orders which makes NO SENSE. But second he said that the stores nationally got absolutely no pluses for the preorders. I have to read back on this thread but I thought someone got one in store. Anyway, so according to him the only possible way you could get a plus was through the web preorder. I remember last year the guy in the store told me it was better to order online, but this guy said he was in direct competition with the website orders...
You don't switch sims, just follow the activation instructions and it will switch all your info from your 6/6s to your 7. When yours ships AT&T will send you a video on how to activate. Also search online and read how to prep your phone for transfer to a new phone. If you are not backing up to the Cloud then you will want to back up to iTunes before you do the transfer, then everything moves over intact.
Apple has confirmed that the the 7 Plus and both JB 7 & 7+ are sold out, only preorders being delivered. To get one in store you would have to wait for new stock to come in, and who knows how long that would be. DON'T cancel!
AT&T doesn't remove the holds. When the hold goes away depends on your bank and how long they allow it to remain there. Mine went away 3 days ago and my phone hasn't shipped. Eventually all CC holds disappear if they aren't turned into an actual charge.
Right but he said that no instore preorders received pluses either not that they were sold out, that since appl was sold out no store nationally (because I asked) received any which to me seems unlikely, but what do I know, maybe Apple gave them all to Apple first.
I had my ATT guy tell the same thing. There store got no +'s in and only four 7's in general. Couldn't give me a rough estimate on when they would get any instore. He says the only ones coming in store were the ones folks preordered through them (like myself) but as far as walk in stock he wasn't sure when those would be available.
Im HOPING the planes theyre bringing them on also have an allotment of jet blacks for the carriers. People's apple orders wirh dates of 9/30-10/7 have also shipped but with apple directly so im hoping that our att phones are on there...only thing is bc its ups if our orders are being delivered by fedex we wont have tracking info until fedex recieves our phones then we can try reference searching.
Did the order confirmation say you would receive it on Sep 16th? This wasn't a great launch, but Apple said ahead of time that supply would be restrained. I have no problem waiting for my phone. Every year someone says i won't pre-order again and then they do next year. This is the first year since the iPhone 3G that i won't get my phone on launch day but in reality it isn't really a big deal.
