AT&T allowed me to go ahead of time, but I still got an October date... Also beware to that if you have an Unlimited Data Plan the AT&T website attempts to kick you off. I can't edit the order until I get the iPhone...
this is a load of crap. They need to make adjustments to our orders! Pretty much the exact same thing happened to me.
 
I pre-ordered 256 Jet Black 7+ and I got my confirmation with a delivery date of Sep 30-Oct 7. And then I got this in an email. When I called I was literally told, "The item you ordered online is only available online, so you will have to cancel your order and re-order it online." I was even told that my card was not charged, but my bank statement says otherwise. After several calls and tweets, I was told there was a glitch in the system and I did, in fact, get my order in, but I have not gotten my preparing for shipment status update yet. Oh if I cancel my order and resubmit, I will get a new shipment date of mid to late November.

Same issue here, I called att right away as the order confirmation showed that my unlimited mobile to mobile will be removed. and if it wasn't to theteckkings post I wouldn't have gone ahead and checked again. this is what it's showing. I pay close to 110$ a month for a single line, upwards of 150 with the new order I placed for the iPhone. and by kicking me out of the old mobile to mobile plan I would have to pay even more

Just call 1-866-391-0749 they will process a new order for you with the same ship date and cancel the other order. The did it for me. Its an issue on their end so you will keep the same ship date

I'm going to let the preorder go through and once I get the iPhone, I will contact AT&T about this issue. I've had several reps place notes on the account about this and a manager promising I can keep the plan. If this doesn't get solved I do have a Strageric plan to battle AT&T with. I'm a Comm Major and I'm close with several local and major media organizations. Hopefully it won't come to this, but if so I'm ready.

Damn. I am seeing this alot with people in this thread. I suspect getting in early was a demise. My theory is AT&T glitched and let people in before 3am. So, when people who went in at 3am the algorithm was like.. crap - hold on a sec - 3am and on is correct, before that is not. So it corrected itself and bunked the pre-3am people in back of the line, and let the 3am people take precedence. Just a theory though. After seeing that with so many people that got in early it makes you think maybe their systems screwed up. I know a lot of people who tried to get on but it queued you to a black screen to ensure your place in line.

I hope I get good news by Wednesday, I have a 9/23-9/30 ship date, purchased at 3AM EST(12AM PST), Silver 256GB 7+. Hopefully I get it day 1. I can't imagine the difference between 2:50 to 3:00 AM EST is that much to go from day 1 to a week later, makes no sense to me.

Has anyone had to deal with two orders been placed on one line ? Basically I ordered the incorrect iPhone at 12:10. Shortly after that I relized I ordered a 7 , I was meaning to get the plus. So I went through the ordering process again at 12:35. It accepted the second order for the same line. This morning I canceled the incorrect order. So hoping the second one sticks. At&T stated I need to hang tight till the system catches up.
 
Nothing is making sense right now. My order was placed at my local ATT store during lunch today and I already got a preparing to ship and I'm in the 9/23 - 9/30 window for a 128GB 7 PLUS MATTE BLACK. I don't know how some people with the same phone as me got October shipping dates when they ordered super early this morning. I think there is a good chance a lot of us will get launch day deliveries that have this 9/23 window. My phone is also shipping to the ATT store for me to pick up there as they said this would lead to me getting it faster because they get priority.

I think the time stamp was 3:04 AM ET though, either way no reason for a 10 minute difference to delay a phone a week, especially when it wasn't a Jet Black or Black 7+, I thought about one of those, but saw Into October, I said no way.

So what's your order status now? Does it mean I also need to call them to re-order because my order is still in process instead of prepare for shipment.

My point exactly. My order was placed at lunch time from an ATT store for a matte black 7+ and I got the 9/23 window. about an hour after that I went back on their website to see if the dates had slipped more for those still wanting to pre order and that's when they showed October around 1pm ET.
 
Anyone with mid Oct. est. delivery date still has status as "in process"? Just wonder if there us any problem with my order.
 
I ordered two iPhone 7 32GB Black and got:

I had a terrible time with the AT&T page timing out. It took 13 minutes for the first and 21 minutes to get the second, working on both from different monitors at the same time. I kinda figured our more unpopular phone choice would be more readily available despite the delay.

There isn't an issue with your order... it won't change to "preparing to ship" until about a week before it ships. This is why everyone with the 9/23-9/30 window with the "preparing to ship" status believe they will get theirs on launch.

THIS is what I received, exactly. I had to call them (and that number wasn't anything special), and they had to cancel my order for me. And had me reordered by myself again. AND they could not do anything more for me... By the way, there is no 'resubmit,' you just have to reorder. :(

So, I'm pretty sure when reorder, you cue is gone especially because of the Jet Blacks are out, and your shipment date will go later. Sorry guy.

Sorry but it makes no sense that I pre-ordered at 3AM(12AM PST) when the window opened, I shouldn't have a 9/23-9/30 timetable, it makes zero sense. No way does that many day 1 phones get sold in mere minutes of when I ordered, or others at that time. I ordered a 6S+ last year through ATT.com, had a late Oct, early Nov 2015 ship date, got mine 3 days later, so it happens, and is possible.

But most orders show preparing to ship in this post with same est. delivery date as mine.

I have the exact same thing (same phone specs) as you with the same estimated ship date. However, while I initially got in at 2:58am ET, I wasn't able to complete my order until 4:04am due to "scheduled maintenance from 2:00am to 3:00am CT."

I would have planned to camp outside a store to get one on release day if I knew this was going to be the case!

Thank you guy, appreciate it. I already got my order processed. It's the guy I quoted, I feel sad for him. Hope he reads this and gets the number before it's too late...to get his Jet Black.

As for my past experience with pre-ordering the 6 Plus and 6S Plus, both of them had identical estimated ship dates (i.e., the middle of October). However, both came much sooner. I believe one arrived like a day after launch, whereas the other showed up less than two weeks after launch. In both cases it was still at least 2-3 weeks earlier than expected.
