I got in about 1 minute early, and my ship date is 9/23 - 9/30. I got the 7+ matte 128gb. I never pre-ordered from att before, does actually mean it may come on the 16th? And for legal purposes they're stating the 23rd so no one gets pissed off?
That's the thing, 1 minute early, and it's set for a week after release, I think ATT is being safe with their dates, that way if they did say the 16th and they couldn't deliver, they would have people up their you know whats. This way people who ordered within first 15-20 minutes should get their phone on release day. Makes no sense for it to be delayed a week when orders were made right when pre-orders opened up.

Yeah it's confusing to me too.

Same just 2 minutes after launch. The date was already sept 23 - before the launch so that's why I find it so odd.

Only 5 minutes after pre-orders opened had I completed the order. 3:05am, I had everything wrapped up. Confirmation came at 8am saying preparing to ship. I'm in the same boat with you guys... in fairness we should get them on launch day, following the first come first serve policy. Then again, life isn't fair lol. Like everyone else, fIngers crossed for the 16th.. HOWEVER- it could be worse. Instead of Sept 23-30 we could be looking at October-November like so many other people. Cheers!

I had a unique experience in making my order. I first tried to order through the Apple Store but ran into problems and did not know if I had made an order or not. Since I tried 4 times with the same result, I thought that I could possibly have ordered 4 phones. I called Apple but they could not help and said that a number of people had experienced the same problem. They recommended that I call AT&T, which I dreaded doing today as I've done that in the past on pre-order day and found it to be a total madhouse.

However, I gave them a call and got bumped around a little and had to wait a lot but finally got through to a rep who not only helped me but did it expeditiously. She found that I had not made any order and stayed on the line while I went through the process again, and helped with hints when I would get hung up. I found out that the rep I was dealing with was in the corporates sales rather than the individual sales side of ordering. I guess that when you are used to sorting out the problems of a corporation purchasing multi-units of iPhones, (possibly in the hundreds or more) helping one guy order a single phone becomes a piece of cake.

This could also explain why some people get earlier shipping dates in spite of ordering earlier than others. They may have gotten connected to the corporate sales department who have a different stock of iPhones.

Damn. I am seeing this alot with people in this thread. I suspect getting in early was a demise. My theory is AT&T glitched and let people in before 3am. So, when people who went in at 3am the algorithm was like.. crap - hold on a sec - 3am and on is correct, before that is not. So it corrected itself and bunked the pre-3am people in back of the line, and let the 3am people take precedence. Just a theory though. After seeing that with so many people that got in early it makes you think maybe their systems screwed up. I know a lot of people who tried to get on but it queued you to a black screen to ensure your place in line.
[doublepost=1473471812][/doublepost]I also suspect that a lot of us will have a change of dates, or atleast more news on the matter. I'm thinking by Wednesday the latest.

These are just estimated delivery date, just like the past release, they put up the dates a month later and when the launch day get closer and they start shipping these dates will get update as well. Let's relax and check back next Tuesday or Wednesday!

Agreed! I'm sure we will all have good news to report after the weekend. I look forward to it.

I got my wife's rose gold 128+ about :08 after and it says it processed at 7am eastern. Now they are saying there was an issue with credit card, shouldn't have been I ordered my iPhone right after that and it went through. After talking and being passed around a guy said it could just be a system error right now. their system is "down" I don't know if i believe that but he said to give it a couple days and see what happens. The website shows my order as in process. not canceled or pending so we will wait and see.

Most of the time orders are shipped ahead of the estimates. Whatever apple tells them to expect is what they go off of. So if apple makes more than that they ship faster. Or if people cancel orders, orders will move faster. Example: I had two orders for my iPhone 7 order (I tried to submit a few times but site congestion reset it I guess). obviously one is being canceled so the people behind me all moved up one.

Hi Everyone, apoligies if this has been asked before already. Forums have just been crazy today

Is it worth it to cancel Apple Upgrade pre orders to switch to the ATT Next with the trade in promo? Is there a catch I am missing? Basically they give me 650$ in credits for my old phone. If I decide to leave ATT, I pay the balance of the phone. But if I keep my iPhone with apple, I pay for the whole thing anyway.....

I ordered mine through att.com at 5:35am PST. 128GB black 7 and 128GB rose gold 7+. Both of them tell me they should be here on launch day. I'm in central time so I certainly wasn't going to wake up at 2am to order so I was expecting a delay in receiving them. I'm trying to not get my hopes up in case the dates change, but I'm optimistic.

Oh are we sharing actual stories? This was the text I sent my friend this morning:

J**** M******u***** C*****. I wake up at 2 and decide to check Twitter. It won't load. So I check my email. Won't load. I look over at my router where the little "online" light is and it's duller than my great aunt Delores. She's dead. So I jump up to try and reset it. Nothing. There's a *u****g outage. Comcast should get a medal. Well this wouldn't typically be a big deal, just use my phone as a hotspot, right?. No. The new house is in the boonies of Brunswick with hardly any cell service. So I had to jump in the car and drive 10 minutes in the direction of town. After a couple U-turns, I have pull over on the side of the road in order to have enough cell service to place the order. So there I sit with my phone on top of the car and computer in lap. And no, I evidently wasn't fast enough cuz the estimated ship dates aren't until 9/23-9/30, despite being all ready at 2:40. Good news is, according to a lot of people that I read comments from online, I made out real lucky.

AT&T allowed me to go ahead of time, but I still got an October date... Also beware to that if you have an Unlimited Data Plan the AT&T website attempts to kick you off. I can't edit the order until I get the iPhone...

My mom is the billing address on our AT&T account and I had no problem changing the shipping address.

Did you do that as you were paying, or before launch?

I had no intention of changing it, but when ATT kept crashing at the point where I changed it, then the Apple site gave me an error and said it had to go to the billing address, I assumed that is what was causing the problem with finalizing the purchase.

My order was placed at 4:57am this morning and i have received a confirmation of the order and one confirming the ship date. Both say I should receive by 9/16 and the confirmation of shipping states it will ship on 9/15. I ordered the 128gb 7 in matte black.

Last time, with the 6, I ordered the 64gb space gray during the pre-order period and after a little over 2 months of delays I finally cancelled the order and walked into an AT&T store and pick one up out of the blue. So right now I am skeptical about this time around, but still hoping to get it by Friday as the order states.

Dayum. And you'll still get yours before I get mine. LOL

Actually it let people in even earlier than that. My two phones have 2:49 EST and 2:52 EST order times. And I still got Oct 13-20 for the Jet Black 7 128gb (the 2:52 order)

Not everyone. I started trying at 2:45am.

Lol. Is yours a Jet Black? I'm also seeing another pattern in orders placed on ATT's website. Very few phones have the launch date as a ship date. Most people that ordered any color other than JB, is estimated for the 23-30 (or similar) and anyone with a JB is automatically in October no matter when the order was placed. I could definitely be off but that's just what I've picked up while scanning through the thread. I also noticed that when I first received my order confirmation, the 128 silver plus had a ship date for the 23-30 but the 128 matte black plus didn't say anything at all. At first I assumed that just meant it would arrive on launch day. Then it changed to match the silver.

Pretty much what I went through, 2 or 3 hrs on the phone with 2 reps. They were nice... Ended up also reordering it on line...but in the end, I still got the same ship dates as I originally saw with my first order attempt, and same as your ship dates.

Good luck and enjoy your silver (mine also but 128 GB). :)

I wasn't able to get my order to go through properly until about 3:30 but it registered as 3:17 and I still got 9/16 delivery.

I had to go through AT&T because I needed to change the shipping address, but my confirmation doesn't include what I wrote in Address Line #2. I'm having it shipped to my office in a Manhattan highrise, so I'm worried that without the line 2 office info it will get lost in the building.

I also received a text saying that if I didn't call by 9/16, my order was cancelled. I called and the the CS rep said my order is still in progress.

I see an authorization on my credit card for the amount so hopefully, all is still well. Would love if the phone arrives on launch day. My 6 is mysteriously trying to kick the bucket this week.

So you know, I had the EXACT same message, stuck there the whole night. I called. The rep had to cancel it for me. And I had to reordered again, then it went through. I suggest you call them again, seriously. They also charged my card the first time, but then it detracted.

I had to make an extra payment on my NEXT agreement in order to upgrade (I had to make 12 payments before trade-in but only had made 11). But my ship date is a month out. So are they going to charge me another month on my NEXT agreement in addition to making the 'final' extra payment? I mean, if I hadn't made an extra payment I'd be at 12 payments by the time the phone actually ships to me!

After reading about the iPhone 6 trade in offer, I decided to go for it and put my order in early this evening, around 5:15pm CST. Apple.com showed the delivery date slipping for the 128 iPhone 7 in black (matte), but AT&T showed a 9/16 delivery date. I was on the fence with the iPhone 7 due to the removal of the audio jack. As it is, I'm not thrilled about having to keep an adapter with me all the time. But this offer is at least 2x the amount I could get for by selling my iPhone 6 elsewhere.

My order status now says Preparing for Shipment with 9/16 delivery date.
Hopefully all goes well.
