I'm going to wake up at 8am tomorrow and try and reserve a phone at a local Apple Store. I'll just switch to the iPhone upgrade program and be done with it.

Yeah but that doesn't make sense. They also said they are shipping in order they were received. Clearly can't be both

Makes no sense, then why have we seen no confirmed reports of 256gb 7+'s shipping from ATT? ATT is just trying to cover their own asses right now. Same for Apple too, I sincerely hope that Apple didn't take the higher capacity pluses away from ATT, Verizon, Sprint, and TMo and use them for their own IUP people, I feel for them, but when I placed an order at 3:04 AM et, and don't get the phone day 1, and now IUP people can get their phones that's some major BS IMO.

Quick questions, can you reserve a phone to be put on ATTs next plan in store at Apple? So if I wanted a Silver 256GB 7+(If they had them) and wanted to get it tomorrow, would they allow it to be done via the Next program? Then again, no guarantee they will have them, and I don't know if I want to chance it by canceling my order on ATT.com.

Yes, you can do Next at the Apple Store.
Hey guys. Thought I would update you on my order for IPhone 7 128gb jet black.
I ordered on launch day 5am central. Used premier site.
Initial order shipping was oct13-to oct20.
Just got an order notification last night that my phone shipped. I have FedEx tracking and it will arrive Monday!!
This was really surprising since I was going to line up at att store today to buy. Anyone else get their phone much earlier?

I tried to look for 7+s near me, but couldn't find the button to click. I called one ATT store, they said no one had 7 Pluses.

Here's what I'm thinkin for the 7 in JB for 128 (so far)
These dates are for batches:
Oct 13 - Oct 20 is first batch (which was Zea's)
Oct 14 - Oct 21 is second batch (mine)
Does this mean AT&T knew how many phones they were getting in the first batch for this particular config? Don't know but it's a possibility. We will know more as time goes on

I agree. My phone wasn't "picked" until yesterday mid-morning according to the receipt in the box. So, I think they had a number in mind for the "first batch" and went through it VERY quickly. Apple showed 9/16 shipping on the 7/128/jb until at least 12:12 PT.
BTW, totally worth the wait. It's gorgeous. I use a case for every phone, but I don't WANT to put this in a case. Fingerprints and all.

When did the Apple store go live? I think I remember it around 12:08. So first batch was incredibly small.
Awesome! Glad to hear it and that's the reason why I ordered JB. I immensly enjoy gloss black. My 5.0 is black and so will my iPhone.

Same here.. all I thought about was how messed up AT&T's ordering system is. Almost all early preorders still have the same status since last weekend. But I'm ok with it and willing to wait it out. I try to reassure myself that my Matte Black 7 + 128GB is out there somewhere just waiting to be unboxed... 🙂

I was able to get into the Apple Store App around 12:05 or so. I almost force quit the app as I was furiously trying to refresh it. I'm not 100% sure when the stock actually slipped via Apple, but I know it was still 9/16 at 12:12.
Edit: I just went to the Apple thread. There are two posters there who got confirmations at 12:08 and 12:14 and they had 9/26 and 10/4. So it slipped there almost as fast.

I called AT&T customer service out on their "intelligence" earlier when they sent me a scripted response that had nothing to do with the last message I sent, nor any messages I had sent. They seem to be ignoring me now. (This was hours ago, not now. I'm aware they're closed.)

Thanks guys, not sure I want to chance it, hopefully ATT gets the 256gb phones in soon, trying to not be impatient, but pissed with being one of the first to order, stay up late, and get screwed over by whatever messed up system they use. If it goes past my date, I'm definitely going to talk to Retention, and see what can be done, either those AirPods, or whatever they're called, or some sort of credit on my bill, I pay like 230 a month for 4 lines, and 6GB of Data with no overages.

I too am in that 10/13-10-20 window, but it shows that I completed order before you. I am Premier as well cause I work for the company. I'm happy for you, and honestly, I'm not upset about it. Just wish ol Johnny Ive and Timmy Cook were baking up some more JB 128+ is all.
I'm sure that ill probably get notice first part of next week then, if you have gotten yours.
Still happy with the 6s, but I just WANT that JB.
People complaining about ATT and the order, its not perfect, granted, but I love how the armchair quarterbacks grumble that everyone ought to be fired or ATT doesn't have the proper software or something.
Logistics amazes me, and I'm sure Id be awed if I saw it in action.
That's why I'm a little surprised about Apple....I mean, Tim Cook was the main logistics guy before he took over for Jobs. And I think that its pretty clear some inventory was held back to cover Apples mistake they admitted in their own upgrade plan.
Just hope it gets fixed and those planes fly in and let me have mine 🙂

Sorry, but ATT has been horrid. Letting people in before 3:00 am Eastern time, then delaying their orders, server crashes less than 2hours in to preorder launch and they tell us it was routine maintenance LOL. Giving lame one week shipping windows instead of delivery dates, shipping to people that ordered hours and days after others. Sorry, I know you work for them, but I'll never order anything again from AT&T. I get the whole logistics thing, as nobody does it better than Amazon.com, UPS and Fed-Ex. AT&T, not so much. At least Tim tried to make things right with Apple customers who got screwed. AT&T wouldn't even admit until days later that their alleged "routine scheduled maintenance" (this still makes me laugh, as if any online seller would take down their own servers on the busiest night of the year). They finally came clean and admitted their servers crashed (on preorder night, good lord, have they never done this before?).
Anyway, I hope you get your phone soon.
