Here's the video that really did it for me (http://www.cnet.com/videos/jet-black-iphone-7-scratch-test/). She just slides it across the edge of a table and it looks bad afterwards. It gets even worse after it gets shaken in the bag of jingly things.

Here's another. I didn't get all the way through this one but all I needed to see was what the penny did and I new I wouldn't be able to handle it.

I'm sure there'll be plenty more vids, and probably some angry customers (Apple did warn us), in the coming days. I really wanted to like the Jet Black and probably will be jealous looking at the new ones (may even run by apple store today just to see). However, I want to be able to go without a case and not worry about it looking worn after only a few outings.

While it does appear that the JB model scratches easily, I knew what I was getting into when I ordered the iPhone 7 Plus (128GB) in Jet Black. I tend to baby my devices to a certain degree, but like I said, I knew what risks there could be with that configuration. I wasn't willing to settle, per se.

I was planning on using my clear case from my 6 Plus, but realized that the cut outs will be different. I mean, not too significant of a change, but enough for me to consider buying a case designed specifically for the iPhone 7 Plus.

So I ended up ordering a very inexpensive case from Amazon late Thursday night/Friday morning and that should arrive on Monday morning (even though the delivery confirmation says Sunday by 8:00pm via USPS, which doesn't deliver on Sundays).

Ugh I had a dream/nightmare that I refreshed my order status page and it finally changed...to a page explaining the jet black phone would unavailable due to it being recalled

I bought the Spigen clear case early last week. I wasn't willing to settle either. I haven't bought a black phone in about 4 years, but this was is beautiful. I just had to.

When I receive it, I'm going to be wearing gloves when I touch it until it goes into the clear Spigen case I got for it. I've been using that case on my 6+ all week, and it works great. I was never a case guy until the Plus phones, but I had to do it since they're so slippery.

Hey guys. Thought I would update you on my order for IPhone 7 128gb jet black.

I ordered on launch day 5am central. Used premier site.

Initial order shipping was oct13-to oct20.

Just got an order notification last night that my phone shipped. I have FedEx tracking and it will arrive Monday!!

This was really surprising since I was going to line up at att store today to buy. Anyone else get their phone much earlier?

I'm also getting ours on Monday. We ordered the silver+ 128 from a retail store on Sunday and wasn't suppose to ship until 7-14 October. I guess the silvers are starting to ship and not in high demand as the JB and MB versions.

Apple never had many 7 plus anyway.
They released phones before inventory was built up. Why else could you order at 12:00 am and get a delivery date of 23-30
Apple said that the camera on the double camera on the new Plus is difficult to manufacture, so it ended up taking longer to produce than they anticipated and thus they knew their supply was going to be low for Pluses from the get go.

Actually sometimes they do from Amazon.

PS - After a day with it, the iPhone 7 Plus is starting to grow on me. But I have to admit, coming from a Samsung Note 7, or a Note 5, the iPhone 7 is a step down. The design is a bit outdated, the software is slower than the latest Android offerings and the Super Amoled screens on the Samsung devices blow this screen out of the water. Even the speakers are a step down. I had my Note 5 side by side and did speed comparisons, it was just embarrassing, my year old Note 5 is much faster and smoother. On the upside. I like how the software is so well integrated with the hardware and after being a die-hard Android user since 2008, it was time for a change, so I will likely stick with it.

I'm still waiting for Matte Black 128 GB - Status Preparing to Ship

AT&T and Apple are both full of it.

I wonder if our phones are now more delayed than the estimates they originally gave us.

Sorry guys.. I ordered 128 7+ Gold on 9/12 and estimated ship date 10/10-10-17. I already got my shipment notification today from ups that it would arrive Monday , I feel guilty receiving the phone before all of you guys who ordered the minute it was released. That's not how this should work. There's obviously something wrong with AT&T's shipping software.

Reason yours shipped early was due to ordering gold, it's not as popular this year. If AT&T final received a shipment of gold iPhones in stock you wouldn't want them to hold onto it until they completed the JB / MB orders. The majority of those waiting are for plus model black phones. Granted AT&T fulfillment process is broken but so are the other major carriers.

Now they will probably start rushing productions and quality control with take a hit.

Same thinking here. I have a clear case waiting for mine. However, the scenarios in that video are a little outlandish. For instance, the "desk test." You know, when you accidentally slide your phone back and forth on a table multiple times in a row...lol no. Anyone else noticed it seems like even reviewers and demos haven't received a 7+ in jet black?

I've been lurking in the tmobile thread and noticed more people are getting notifications via UPS My Choice that they'll be getting their phones on Monday...this could be a good sign for us??

I'm upset that people who wanted a 7 Plus settled for 7's this is why Apple and Carriers can continue to treat customers this way.

lol I don't think you get it. AT&T is at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to iPhones. Even Cricket and Straight Talk will get theirs before us.

Actually amazon contracted with usps to devliver for them on sundays. It depends on where you live. So you might actually get it on Sunday.

128GB 7+ Jet Black

Finally hit the cancel button from AT&T app and received the cancellation e-mail and text immediately.

Ordered 128GB 7+ Matte Black from Apple with estimated deliver date Oct 12 - Oct 18.

I will never again order anything from AT&T.

I'm still waiting patiently for my black plus and have no issues waiting for the actual estimated ship date. Patience is something that is truly lacking in this forum. If anything, these threads promote obsessive and erratic behavior from people who feel their life hangs in the balance over an upgrade by Apple's launch date. Rather pathetic honestly.

Go outside and have an adventure and forget about the stupid phone for a while. Force yourself to stop checking for a shipped message and do something productive. Really, it will make you feel better. It's exciting to get a new device but keeping things in balance is important.
