Someone please clarify something for me.

I called the automated number and it asked me if I wanted to activate my device.

My question is this: If I activate my new phone, although it hasn't shipped yet, would said activation not allow me to make calls on my current phone?

I'm in the same boat as you. :-/
Yes I would think activating would cause your current phone to stop working.

Well been around the this forum for quite some time... still waiting on my 7+ 128gb matte black. Ordered at 3 am exactly. No movement since preparing to ship. I'm in central Florida, Apple website shows iPhones in California, Hawaii, and Nevada. That's my luck. Just a horrible waiting game. What's this number people are talking about calling for terms and conditions?

What's weird for me is I ever got anything either after upgrading through NEXT. I also noticed on the website it now says I have a 2 year contract. That sounds problematic doesn't it?

I had to wait an hour and a half to order due to the 'system maintenance' error when trying to make my final Next payment. I feel like the issue for several of us is tied to that, but how much time and energy is it going to take to speak to someone who can see any more than we can? I'm sure the front line reps see the same Preparing to Ship status we do and that's it.

I have not read all the posts ... i ordered an iPhone 6 plus 256 (flat black)on the day of the launch. I was given a date of 9 - 23 - 9-30 for shipment. Has anyone ordered the same and received one? Just curious

You can call that ecom number and get them to check for errors...I called them and the guy had me on hold for quite a while, so I believe he was looking into it more than the 611 people, but he finally said my terms and conditions was fine. He said others are getting same model/color/size phones shipped before me that ordered after me was just because the sheer volume of orders...and I said, "Nope. Not the right way to ship those out...not when I've been with att for eight years." I finally hung up on him. I am taking my business elsewhere.

Well I'm glad the number gets people to someone :)...but yes In the end this experience so many of us have had (and are having) is not something ecommerce or any other department at ATT can readily fix.

You got a UPS number? I got a fedex today. No movement.
I replied to him also, I think FedEx and UPS don't ship on Sunday's, so we won't see movement till Tomorrow, and we should get our iPhones on Tuesday. Hopefully I'm wrong, but seems right, since it's 10:15 PM here, and no movement from FedEx on my shipment.

WHAT? That's the whole point of shipping them in order. Because you have the sheer volume of orders that the people who ordered first should get theirs first rather than randomly picking people.

That's just because of the west coast time zone. Stores in other areas won't take reservations so close to closing for the day
