Got the email confirmation for my pickup tomorrow. No way it is this easy...

FYI reserving one from Apple puts you on the Apple upgrade program, if that matters to anyone. I'm not sure the difference between the ATT one.

The upgrade is reinstated almost immediately. I wouldn't cancel until you have a phone in your hand.
And just as a side note since that was my first post on this thread. Been following/reading this page since it started. Ordered the 128GB Matte Black iPhone 7+ @ 4:07am on 9/9 due to the BS maintenance. It's been sitting on in progress or preparing to ship (depending on where you look) since then. Thank you to whom ever originally posted the Apple reservation link!!!
Have a 10:00 reservation in south Windsor CT for 7+ 128 matte black.
Only concern is did not show att next but from previous posts understand that that can be accomplished at the store. Hope this is true!

It doesn't... Once you get there, you can ask to be put on the Next program..
Not true. You can choose the payment option when you get to the store.
Glad to see you've got yourself a reservation. Too bad our preorders didn't work the way we'd hoped. And don't worry about the Next program. When you go to pick up the phone, they will offer you all of the different payment options, including Next. I'm doing the same thing.
Well, I can drive 5, 8, 10, or 12 hours and get my second choice phone...so I guess I'll just stay in AT&T Preparing to Ship purgatory for now. And now...it's time for bed. Good luck everyone.

That was me. Can confirm the Verizon phone works just fine with my existing ATT SIM. I went the Verizon route because I figure it will be more "marketable" when it comes time to sell next year.
The reservation process was fantastic by the way. I was in and out in under 10 mins.
Damn, wish I would have seen this before finishing the reservation. Oh well. I'll know for next year.

Go ticman! I did it this morning and worked like a charm. Once you get there they bring the phone out and ask what you want to do... all options available. Only thing he said he couldn't do is add a new line to a business account... but could upgrade an existing business phone. You will laugh at how easy it is.
LOL saw you lurking as was I. Glad it finally worked out. R u waiting to cancel before u get the phone or after. I am assuming that you have to cancel before they're gonna let you get the phone at the Apple store but I'm not sure
Hello thread. Ordered on 9/16 around 5:00pm EST from AT&T website. My provided shipping date is: 10/14/2016 To 10/21/2016. Is there any chance they will ship quicker than quoted?
I ordered 256GB Matt Black 7Plus.
I initially pre-ordered from apple on pre-order day and got the 128gb Jet black and was quoted 10/4-10/9, but changed my mind. So here I am.

Ok thanks. I read someone quite a few pages back that canceled their order on launch day and it wouldn't open the upgrade back up so I was worried.
There was a Plus (MB 128GB) in Bethesda for like the first few mins until someone snatched it
Everyone left on this thread is currently trying to reserve a phone through an apple retail store because of all the issues we've had with ordering through at&t. I suggest the same to you. Good luck!
I should rephrase. The upgrade SHOULD reinstate immediately. It did for me and a few of my friends when we had to cancel and place a new order. Literally, it was reinstated in like a minute. But this is AT&T so we know they aren't always consistently awesome. YMMV

Thanks guys for the link. I also got a 10AM reservation on a 128 MB plus and I decided the get the Verizon model for network compatibility. I'm just going to buy it outright and cancel my at&t pre-order. Thanks again.
