Hey guys just got back from driving 6+ hours to get the closest MB 256 + I could find and I can confirm that you can use ATT Next once you are there in store. If you have a reservation for it they will have it in stock. One thing of note that I ran into is once you start the activation process and get all the way to paying Apple for the tax and down payment make sure you have form of payment that won't decline. Fraud protection kicked in on my card from the drive and the guy at the apple store said he would have to wipe that phone and get a fresh one IF they had one in stock to remove the $400 down payment I was doing for Next. Using my card as debit worked so the 6 hour drive wasn't waisted but just a heads up for those driving long distances. Love my Matte Black plus!
Can you explain more about the $400 down payment?
I have a card to use, but was under the impression that I would only be responsible for tax (just like when I pre-ordered via AT&T). I will be doing AT&T next as my 2 year contract recently was up. Thanks.

isn't the link for iPhone upgrade program? I don't want to do it then get there for them to tell me I am not on the program

Everyone that has done the apple store reservation said they'll let you use next, iup, or pay in full...whatever you want to do...

I'm assuming you got a Verizon model.. if so did you use the sim from your att phone, or did they already have an att sim to put in the phone?

So if I reserve from apple and get a 11am reservation time do I have to make sure to be there before or by 11am or can I just go whenever as long as it's by the time they close?

What if I’m late for my reservation?
Please arrive as close to your check-in window as possible. If you’re late, or if you miss your scheduled time, we may not be able to hold the model you reserved. This means you may have to make another reservation.

Ok thanks,

What if I am opening a new account with Att, can I still reserve a phone and make the account there?

Omg I can't believe I was able to make a reservation! I'm so excited. I ordered a black iPhone 7 plus 128GB and it's still preparing for shipment. Was able to reserve a 256GB Black iPhone 7 Plus in Chicago. Gonna pick it up tomorrow.

i have reservation to pick up a Verizon 128 MB 7+ in the morning. Could only find a verizon model. just concerned about them letting me upgrade with AT&T Next.

Yes, as long as it's a personal account. Again, if the iPhone you reserved is the Verizon model, you will have to bring an att nano sim.

They will, several others have done it

Thank you! So excited. Reservation is 10am in Naperville,IL. I will let you all know how it goes. Good luck all!:p

I wouldn't be so quick to say that using the IUP link will "for sure" get you a phone. I was practically scolded at the DC store for reserving a 256G Matte Black 7 + without the IUP program. I wanted to use the ATT Next plan. I was told I was going to be the only exception. Thank goodness. Good luck to everyone. It's been the worst launch year for me.

D.C., I'm not surprised... everyone else, myself included, made it through without a hiccup...
[doublepost=1474264402][/doublepost]BTW, I never mentioned it, but the sprint version of the phone is the same as the Verizon one. They will both work on any carrier.

Says in the email you can use other forms of payment such as carrier financing. I would just bring that up if they hassle me.

Interestingly enough, and maybe this was mentioned before but the fine print has changed (see picture below). It once stated that you can use a carrier installment plan but the updated version claims " a required lease is required from Citizens Bank". I'm sure most stores won't mind but I was almost crushed. Go in hoping for the best, preparing for not so great news. That's the most responsible post and approach instead of telling everyone; "YES , it worked for everyone " when that's not the case.
That's not a "new version", it's the blurb if you drill into the iup conditions. Nothing has changed.
