According to flightaware.com there are two UPS flights getting into Anchorage from China today. One at 12:23PM Alaska time and one at 2:19PM Alaska time.

It also says "If upgrade or pay up/off agreement early, your credits may cease" very clearly in the terms of this deal.

AKA if you upgrade next year bye bye credits after the 11-12 months.

So you if your current device is worth less than $650/24 over 11-12 months (about $300-330), then maybe it's worth it. From the 6S line, likely not. For the older 6 line, maybe, by a few bucks over selling it privately.
Just chatted with a CSR -- she told me the credit would still apply if I upgrade to a new phone next year via ATT Next Every Year. I'll post the screenshot once I get the transcript via email. At least I have hard evidence in case I was given the wrong info :p

I am still waiting on any info on my 7 plus black 256.
I am starting to think they do not exist.

They do exsist outside the AT&T universe. I've been waiting for AT&T to ship me one since I preordered and haven't heard anything.

So last night I hoped on and the Reservation page at 12:02am (eastern) and found one locally. It's reserved and waiting for me to pickup this morning. :)

Can't wait!

Yeh not what ATT's own terms say

FREE IPHONE 7 32GB OFFER: Limited time (ends September 30, 2016, in Puerto Rico). Select stores and online. Not an AT&T Next upgrade offer. Void in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Miami-Dade. Eligible iPhone 7: New iPhone 7 or 7 Plus on 0% APR AT&T Next (30-month) or AT&T Next Every Year (24-month) installment agreement. Retail price is divided into monthly installments. Tax on full retail price due at sale. After all credits, get an iPhone 7 32GB priced at $650 ($21.67 or $27.09 per month) for free. May apply max credit towards other eligible iPhones priced up to $970, which will be discounted but not free. Wireless: Monthly postpaid voice and data required (existing customers can add to eligible current plans). Eligible Trade-in: Must use the AT&T trade-in program in an eligible store or online. Must trade in an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, or 6s Plus in good working condition that is fully paid off. In some stores, you will need to trade in and make a new purchase in the same transaction. If your iPhone is being shipped, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete your promo trade-in. Must complete trade-in within 30 days of new iPhone activation. Bill Credit: Must have completed trade-in for credits to start. Credits are applied in equal amounts towards installment payments over entire agreement term. Service must remain active and in good standing and device must remain on its agreement for the entire term to get all credits (if cancel service, you will owe remaining installment balance of up to $970). If upgrade or pay up/off agreement early, your credits may cease. Offer Limits: Not combinable with bill credit, switcher, or other discounts on the iPhone offers. Return:Restocking fee up to $45 may apply.

Let's face it they arent givent peeopl $650 out of the goodness of their heart. It's to lock people in for 2 years to get these credits.

So I see a lot of people who cancelled their att pre-orders, picking up in an Apple Store but still choosing att next over apples upgrade program, why is that? Just trying to get a simple idea of the best route to take

1) Dont need Applecare Plus which in Apple's upgrade program you are paying roughly $5/month more to get. ($129 over 24 months, so $64.50 extra over 12 months).

2) Apple's program means next year you have to go to the store to pickup your pre-order on launch day. Yeh no thanks. Order from Apple online (learned my lesson never from ATT.com again) and get it shipped.

Here's part of the transcript with the CSR earlier. If you're right, then hey I was misinformed by their own rep and I'll ask for comp :)

And even if they do give me $650 over the two year period I'm still paying an insane amount of money monthly so I don't know if they're still losing in this case...

I'm not familiar with the reservation process at Apple around launch time. Does anyone know if they typically update their inventory available for reservation as they receive shipment (so we should continue checking back if there's a specific model we're looking for)? Or when the state's reservation times go live at midnight each night, is that all they'll have for the following day?

The reservation process as explained to me by Apple is meant for IPhone Upgrade folks and is essentially allowing you to reserve phones that had been previously preordered or reserved that weren't picked up. At 12:01am local time to the stores they get released into the store inventory to be resold in store.

Which makes them pop up to be reserved or if not reserved some lucky person can walk into a store in the morning and buy it. If you reserve it they will hold it for you until your appointment slot but if you are late by I believe more then an hour or so they will release it again for others.

I'm not sure if any phones that are delivered directly to the stores for normal sale are also lumped into this.

Also when you go through the reservation page you are reserving via the IPhone Upgrade program however you can change it to whatever you want once in the store.

Wouldnt be a first time the rep has no clue what their own policies are. i think the terms from ATT's own page I posted are pretty clear about upgrading though.

Awful lot of people (myself included) that ordered within the first 30 minutes of preorders on the 9th, and still no movement.

Yup, I'm throughly convinced that there was a major issue with *some* of the orders placed within the first 15-30 minutes that preorders went live.

My wifes iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Rose Gold - shipped.
Order date: 09/09/2016 at 3:02:23 a.m. ET

My iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Matte Black - not shipped.
Order date: 09/09/2016 at 3:00:04 a.m. ET

My order still shows September 23-30 just like it always has. Absolutely zero updates or communication from AT&T in 10+ days.

But what model did you order?

I'm thoroughly convinced that indeed there is a major issue...the fact that they don't have any. Jet Black, that is. In either capacity.

Edit: Nvm, misread. I see you got Matte Black. I've seen plenty of those starting to ship. Hmmm.

Still waiting on my MB 7+ 128. Preorder 9/9. Ship date 9/23-9/30. Has not moved one bit. Going to keep looking to see if I can get one local before it ships, whenever that may be.

Just thought I'd add myself to the list... Ordered within 30 minutes (due to AT&T's website issues), and no movement on my order as well.

iPhone 7+ JB 128GB
Order Date 09/09/2016 at 3:28:57 AM EDT
Order Status Preparing to Ship
Shipping Date 10/14/2016 To 10/21/2016

I'd be thrilled if this is right, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I'm going to play safe and sell my 6s+ on swappa and turn in my old iPhone 6. Besides, if the CSR actually made a mistake, at least I have hard evidence that I was misinformed when I confront the retention center rep next year

Ugh, which tells me that with a JB 256+ with dates of 9/30+, we're still way behind the pack in terms of seeing movement.

At&t was also taking orders well before 3 ET, so its impossible to tell where we are in their "queue".

They do exsist outside the AT&T universe. I've been waiting for AT&T to ship me one since I preordered and haven't heard anything.

Glad you found a way, but damn...they haven't even gotten close to fulfilling preorders from within the first few minutes that it went live, and they are shipping to stores already.

It is indeed a shady game they play, where they gamble that online/preorders will not cancel and will just wait for delivery...while managing to get those impromptu in-store sales too.

Well jokes on them because you were a preorder and now you're an instore, what should have been 2 sales is only 1.

So I canceled my AT&T order like 25mins ago and my upgrade eligibility is still not showing as available. How long does this normally take? I'm supposed to pick up my new phone in 3 hours. AT&T better not screw me out of this by not setting my upgrade eligibility back to available in time!
