Carrier iPhone 7/7+ AT&T Pre-Order Thread

STL here, one store only has Verizon plus in 32 GB and the other is plum out of everything. Hoping their stock gets updated at some point.

Mine took all but 2 minutes. It may not show online but when they rang it up at Apple went right through as eligible.
 
Yeah I ordered mine when AT&T let me in the website according to my status it was 2:54am ET on 9/9 7+ 128gb JB and have heard nothing since it went to preparing to ship which was the status when I checked later that day, have a friend who ordered the same phone shortly after 3 and same situation.
 
I love how Thursday there a ton of shipment notifications for people that order late Friday or over the weekend with Oct ship dates and now 3 days later all of us that ordered 8am and earlier are still waiting for any kind of movement and haven't seen anyone get shipping notifications in 24 hours at all. Not looking good, and none at my apple store

I have not heard of ANY 7+ JB ordered through AT&T shipping yet.
We are all in the same boat.

This is such a s*** show. I ordered on 9/9 7+ 128GB BLK and still showing 10/7-10/14 shipping dates. Stuck in "Preparing to ship" hell

I ordered 2 128 GB matte black 7+ on launch day. One at 12:17am pacific and the other at 12:22am, The second order has been shipped. The first has not. Also, my order status page shows 3 devices that are not even on my account. I checked with AT&T and they tell me it's a system glitch and not to worry about it. What!?

Did they give you a shipping window? I want to see if they just didn't have them or something. I ordered the same phone at 3:37 ET and got shipping 10/14-10/21
 
So my Girlfriend who pre-ordered her 7+ silver 256 from Apple a day after my order has a shipping notification, she gets her phone tomorrow. Her original ship date was mid October. I was trying to be patient, but I am considering cancelling my order now.
 
More countries launch this week and I would guess Apple will have stock of all models in those countries to avoid the negative press. Carriers are probably not a priority for Apple right now. If you want it this week then reserving at Apple Store will be quickest next few weeks.

Until someone can really challenge Apple as a company then stuff like this will never get better.

Speaking for myself, I never expected a literal launch day delivery for my phone. While I'm a little surprised that there were those who ordered late last week and got their phones shipped already, the reality (to me) was that whenever it was that I ordered the phone, that's how the system put me in line, and since I can't change what happens once my order is accepted, I knew it wasn't going to be a launch date event.

I'm not sure why yours didn't show an earlier ship date even though you ordered right around preorder time. What I will say, however, based on the highly anecdotal evidence of reports on this thread, it's likely that it's better to wait sometime between literal 12:01am PDT and up to 3 hours later before actually putting in an order. Again, based on the anecdotal evidence, it appears that the majority of those who entered outside of the initial "busy hour" seemed to have had a better success at getting faster shipping notices, even if their initial shipping estimates were later.

2 IP7+ MB 256GB, ordered 9/9 8:30am/12:30pm ET, 9/23-9/30

I think a lot of people are failing to realize that, when ordering from the online store of a reseller (ATT) you're waiting both for their item to get through Apple, then waiting for ATT to receive and re-distribute them. Expect it to take longer.

I called the E-comm number this morning and got no where. The guy said he could see no issues with my order or account but had no further explanation.

Still preparing to (not) ship. More friends who ordered far after me are getting shipment notifications. As soon as I can see one available in stores I will cancel my ATT order. Lesson learned.

I'll jump in here. Pre-ordered MB 128GB 7+ at around 9:30am EST on 9/9, got estimated shipping dates of 9/23-9/30. This past Thursday my online order status changed from "in progress" to "preparing to ship". Haven't heard anything since.

Also, I checked the local Apple stores and no stores within 185 miles of my zip code have any in stock. I'm in mid-Michigan. Best Buy also has none in stock within 250 miles and my local At&t store also has none in stock. =(
 
Does anyone who cancelled their pre-order and picked up a reservation through Apple on the Next program know how the trade-in option works when upgrading on Next? Do you need to mail your phone to AT&T, does Apple except your phone on their behalf, or can you drop it off at a neighboring AT&T store? Or does that trade-in option not exist when going through Apple?

I've only been skimming a bit but am I to understand that I can reserve a Verizon phone in an Apple Store and link it to my AT&T Next when I go to pick it up?

My wife got her order 3 minutes ahead of me on 9/9 around 3:12 am EDT. Mine has a tracking number to be delivered tomorrow. Hers is still preparing to ship... She's going to be pissed! Hopefully hers gets updated today.

Edit: Both 7 plus Black 128GB

Yep. Probably order from Apple Store today and have it delivered quicker if you have a order through carrier. Assuming you don't want a JB.
 
I'm afraid I'll do it and either need to pay full price or be turned away.

Even if the carrier doesn't match mine? I'm talking about reserving in store.
