Just remember folks, unless your phone ships AFTER the window that AT&T has given you, they've technically delivered it exactly when they said they would.

Yes it sucks that some people are getting their phones before you but I can't be mad that I don't have my phone since AT&T specifically told me not to expect it yet.

What I want to know is why Apple isn't giving AT&T more phones. Obviously Apple has stock as evidenced by the store reservations & quick shipping of recently placed orders. While AT&T has done a very poor job of communicating our statuses, they still can ship only what they have. Apple has seriously screwed AT&T by not giving them enough stock.

I made an appointment to get a different phone because of the yellow screen on mine. Just picked it up yesterday. Pita, If that makes anyone feel better.

The only reason I can think of is that APPLE is trying to save face with folks and is holding back iPhones so they can sell them themselves for right now. If ATT or VERIZON or SPRINT sell them than they look like the good guys but if APPLE sells them themselves they can let folks continue trashing the various carriers and they look better in the court of public opinion. Just a conspiracy theory on this slow morning.

They both stated they ordered on 9/9 so well before me on 9/11.

Yeah, but they ordered after me :(

I'm giving it until tomorrow afternoon then canceling and ordering through apple. I am just very concerned that my order got botched and for some reason is getting skipped over via their system. I ordered in the first 15 min and have seen no movement. (23-30) 128 7+ MB

Same here, ordered in the first few minutes, 7+ MB 128gb, no movement. Feels like all of our orders are screwed up.

Birmingham, AL here and no movement! ughhhh...hopefully those planes were carrying our allotment!

I wish that was the case, no it's off.

And the appointment isn't until Thursday. I just assumed it was today. Earilest they have is Thursday. That's crazy.

There is a fix for that if you google fix yellow screen on iPhone. It's said that the cause is glue yet drying (dang, these iPhones are so fresh, the glue hasn't dried yet!) and screen calibration needed. If you try that you may say the heck with it. I do know that it can wear a person out setting a new iPhone up and then having to do it again.

Good luck!

Yeah, but they ordered after me :(

I wonder though if the time stamps were compared on the actual email conformations if their order somehow got into AT&T's system ahead of yours. That's the big question mark here.

Maybe at&t has processes that run in the background after the order is placed. One thing I do not believe anyone has mentioned is the possibility that the credit card companies have a hand in this as well. AT&T authorizes the card at purchase, but maybe there's a secondary process that runs and reverifies with your bank that you truly have the funds available. And until that is done you don't show up in the AT&T queue.

I placed two orders within minutes of each other and one processed over an hour later, according to the time stamp on the email that I received for each. Of course that was a line port so I can see why that might take longer.

I agree it sucks but if it's within an hour or two of each other, I could see potentially how the line may move.

I'll look into that. I wasn't aware there was a way to calibrate these screens.

I will say personally I have never had an issue with my AT&T service and the prices were more affordable for me compared to Verizon. And quite frankly, I've always had great customer service when I switched last year from Verizon and had questions about my bill or whatever all along over the past year. Granted, I don't think I'll ever preorder again through them because this whole situation has been crap, and while I think something did go wrong on their end as far as online preorders, I think phone quantities and shipments can't solely be blamed on them. Once this dust settles and I have my new device, I'm quite confident that I'll be more than pleased with my service and the plan options I have available to me just like I was for the past year.
Preorder situations are just that -- individual situations any time a major player has a major device that they are introducing.

At the end of the day, cellular carriers should be judged based on factors that they actively control, such as their own network's reliability, coverage, data speed, and customer service (though, ideally, for the last part, they have a reasonable-enough online portal that your interaction with a live person occurs very infrequently).

That's my opinion as I realize that the alleged FIFO preorder process appears to be anything but.

Mine:
2 IP7+ BLK 256GB, ordered 9/9 8:30am/12:30pm ET, 9/23-9/30

Some say it will fade cause of the adhesive. Weird. I've had like 5 launch day phones and never had this. Well my appointment isn't until Thursday, see how it is then I guess. I really don't want to get another one.

IMPORTANT ISSUE AND QUESTION: All of us on the AT&T NEXT Plan had either paid our 12th payment before Sept 9th, or paid it in advance to qualify for the upgrade. The question is, what happens in the next few days if we don't get our phones. Is AT&T going to charge a 13th payment. And, then if they charge the First Payment when we get the new phone, we will have lost that money on the 13th payment. And, more importantly, next year when the really big deal phone comes out, instead of just having to pre-pay one payment (our 12th), we will have only paid our 10th. So, we will have to pay TWO PAYMENTS before upgrading.

This is just a concern and makes it unfair if it happens.

Has anyone found out what is happening to our Installment Payments on the prior phone pending receiving the iPhone 7?

The best thing would be for them to make the next payment NUMBER 1 on the iPhone 7's as long as we have ordered them.

We'll see what happens, but if anyone has found out about this, please reply.

Thanks.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with the AT&T rep. She told me that they are NOT going to charge a 13th installment payment pending our getting our upgraded phones. So, hopefully he is right. So often, you are told the wrong information.
I'd certainly go with what that CSR stated (maybe make yourself a date/time-stamped note as well).

I'd say that in the vast majority of cases, your account is going to be marked as such. Why am I so confident? Because that's how mine is. Only difference is I paid off the iPhone 6 Pluses for my wife and I about a week before preorder, and our AT&T Next 24-month installment plan shows as cleared (even just paid bill and our installments were not included). Our upgrades are showing for the next AT&T Upgrade Every Year Plan (we're also watching 2017) and I had it confirmed that, at 50% payoff, we're good to upgrade.

As you did, always ask for a straight answer from a CSR, and if they won't or can't for whatever reason, it never hurts to escalate to a supervisor.

Maybe it's just me, but over the last few calls I've made in to AT&T, their front-line folks came across as very real, professional and gave knowledgeable/straight-up answers.

Mine:
2 IP7+ BLK 256GB, ordered 9/9 8:30am/12:30pm ET, 9/23-9/30

What were your boyfriend's initial expected delivery dates?

I ordered a 256 MB Plus from Apple on Friday as well after cancelling my AT&T order. Apple gave me Oct 11 - 18 but your post gives me hope I may get it much sooner.
september 30th to october something... via the apple site
[doublepost=1474377667][/doublepost]
this sounds promising I just may cancel and go to apple
his was also a verizon model since he uses them if that makes any difference. His ship dates were sept30-oct4th and he will be getting it in the next 2 days since he just got a tracking number this morning. Ordered Friday the 16th and he purchased it outright instead of on a plan... i don't think that matters but I think the stock being verizon or att branded phones does

I'm about to cancel my ATT order. I saw a bunch of stores in NYC that had the iPhone 7+ 32gb Matte Black available in stock for pick up. They're gone now, but I'm sure they will come back soon, or later tonight.

If you pay a phone off through NEXT is it yours to keep? I have one payment left on my 6+ if I don't get my phone before my next payment and it's paid off could I keep my phone?

Yes.

But if you want to avail of AT&T's trade in promo, you'll have to trade in your 6+ to get a free iPhone 7.

If I may add, this is sad that the JB + phones have no movement as of now, sigh.

Well, I followed the advice of some people here. Reserved a Sprint 256 plus MB using the link provided. Intended to purchase it at full price, pop in my AT&T SIM and walk out in minutes. Didn't work out that way. Janelle, the senior manager at the University Village Apple Store in Washington said nope. She explained that I used a link that was reserved for people who used the IUP exclusively. Refused to take my full payment of $1000 plus cash. Only way I was walking out with the iPhone in front of me was to sign up for the program, and then only on Sprint. So a waste of many hours of time. Never had a store flat out refuse to sell something at full price. Unlike any experience I've had with this particular store in the 14 years I've been purchasing stuff from there. If Apple has actually gotten so big in their head as to refuse a cash sale at full retail price, I kinda don't like them any more. Granted, there are obviously supply issues and they are trying to do damage control for the people who tried the IUP upgrade but couldn't get a reservation, but Janelle was just so unlike a typical helpful Apple employee and offered zero help or really any care as to why this policy is in place.

Morale of the story? Don't waste your time. It's worth more than Janelle and her crap attitude.
Did you ask Janelle why she wouldn't let you do what you were asking?

IIRC (and maybe I'm wrong on this point), but I didn't think you could take a Sprint phone provisioned for Sprint and then take an AT&T SIM and use that same device on the AT&T network. Fundamentally, while the phone, per se, may have the right frequency bands to handle any network, AT&T and Sprint run on two completely different networks.

Next time, ask why. Don't just let them say "no."

Reserved a Verizon iPhone last night and went to the Apple Store this morning and they wouldn't let me buy it out through att next or the up grade program without a Verizon account fml
How is it that you think you can get a phone provisioned for Verizon and turn around and use it on AT&T's network?

While the device may have the capability of handling any frequency bands out there, Verizon and AT&T operate fundamentally different networks.

I wouldn't cancel anything until you have the phone you actually want, in hand.
