So I contacted the AT&T Cares twitter and they provided a number to call to check my order since it's "in progress" and I never got a second email with a shipping window. The response? "You probably should go into the store and check because I'm concerned since it's been 6 days and you haven't gotten the second email. But there's no other information I can see."

I'm stuck with AT&T ordering because I have a new account with a port that I'm doing. I wish I could just pre-order with Apple at this point.

I think at&t underestimated the demand in specific distribution regions such as the southeast which contains florida, georgia, texas, alabama, and many many more (some you wouldn't expect in that region) In doing so they had to beg for more shipments after selling out quickly. That puts them behind the shipments allotted to other carriers who ordered more units before them as well as apple's stock that they have alloted to their stores. I see many phones in the NYC area lately and targets and walmarts and best buy's around the nation but there isn't an iphone plus 256 within 250 miles of where I am in any store at all. I've looked every day for the hell of it. Since I'm around Atlanta, I get shipments from the Southeast distribution. It doesn't matter if i order at 3am and someone in minnesota orders at 2pm the next day, if the southeast doesn't have the stock but the distribution center for the midwest etc has stock, then they will get theirs first. It's logistics and normally it would ensure that everyone is serviced quickly. But when some dumbass doesn't estimate the demand like they should and then doesnt get the order for more units placed quick enough then everyone in that region falls behind regardless of when they ordered. Someone dropped the ball. However, they can't expect to know how popular it would be either. No one can. They were expecting this year's sales to be the worst and they've continued to climb. The plus models that didn't sell as well last year are coveted this year. It's really not something they could have predicted but I will say that their handling of it is a complete joke. I'd have much more respect for a company that just admits that they underestimated the demand and that they are doing everything they can to fix it than one that encourages customer service to feed customers a line of bull. If their system screwed up... I'd understand... stuff happens... but Jesus, be a company with some integrity that informs the customer of the issue and also what steps they are taking to fix it and how they are going to work harder in the future. That is what i would expect of anyone completely ***** me yearly in fees and trumped up pricing. At least earn it by making an effort.

I never got a second email for my wife nor mine orders, while mine is still preparing to ship, hers came on launch day. So I don't think not getting the second email definitely means something is wrong.

Yeah I'm not entirely concerned, it's just an odd response that the rep's only information was that she was "concerned" that it's still processing after 6 days and that the best option is to go into the store because she had no further information.

If you pay a phone off through NEXT is it yours to keep? I have one payment left on my 6+ if I don't get my phone before my next payment and it's paid off could I keep my phone?
i have never sent back a next phone. I've always paid them off and then entered into a new agreement. When you pay 900+ dollars for something over a year, it's yours unless you are selling it back to them for a credit off your new line. I have 4 children so i've always paid them off then unlocked them and put them on the Ting network where i have service for the kids. Its much much much cheaper and the service has been great. All 4 of them have iphones ranging from the 5s to the 6 plus and my bill on Ting is 60 or less per month. I would switch my own lines if I didn't also have direct tv and other services lumped together.

Did you ask Janelle why she wouldn't let you do what you were asking?

IIRC (and maybe I'm wrong on this point), but I didn't think you could take a Sprint phone provisioned for Sprint and then take an AT&T SIM and use that same device on the AT&T network. Fundamentally, while the phone, per se, may have the right frequency bands to handle any network, AT&T and Sprint run on two completely different networks.

Next time, ask why. Don't just let them say "no."

How is it that you think you can get a phone provisioned for Verizon and turn around and use it on AT&T's network?

While the device may have the capability of handling any frequency bands out there, Verizon and AT&T operate fundamentally different networks.

This actually hasn't been the case since I believe the 4s. Verizon phones at least, not sure about sprint, have had the same radios in them that the AT&T ones have had. CDMA vs GSM isn't an issue the way it used to be. I have used a Verizon 4s and a Verizon 5 on AT&T, no lte on them but they worked just fine.

Cancelled ATT premier order last night. Seeing nothing wholesale of phones shipping from co workers that ordered right when they could. Obvious Apple is serving the customers that ordered from them and not the carriers. I don't blame Apple or ATT, Apple makes more money if they sell it and the carriers don't have the phones to ship. Several more countries launch this Friday so things won't get better anytime soon. I am sure one here or there will ship. You will most likely get it faster ordering through Apple today.

september 30th to october something... via the apple site
[doublepost=1474377667][/doublepost]
his was also a verizon model since he uses them if that makes any difference. His ship dates were sept30-oct4th and he will be getting it in the next 2 days since he just got a tracking number this morning. Ordered Friday the 16th and he purchased it outright instead of on a plan... i don't think that matters but I think the stock being verizon or att branded phones does

I think what really makes the difference is ATT vs Verizon. The two models are using radios from two different suppliers since ATT model is GSM only and Verizon is CDMA and GSM. All else being equal between the models it's likely there's a supply bottleneck on the ATT model due to the radio. Of course, I am just speculating just like the rest of us.

At least I have a little more hope seeing that Apple managed to get your boyfriend's phone out a little more than a week early.

I'm trying to wait it out, but my mouse edges ever so closely to that cancel button. I know that my shipping window is only just opening, 9/23-9/30, but to have seen so many that ordered the exact same configuration well after I did get their devices is dumb, echoing the sentiments of all of us still waiting for that 'shipped' notification. I was up with alot of you at 2AM to snag the first round of phones and just knew that it would be here before I head off on vacation next week. (I was really digging that new camera.) I said earlier in this thread that this has been the first iPhone I bought outright simply because I wanted it. My 64GB 6 is just fine and after the way AT&T has handled their pre-order fulfillment, I'm having serious buyers remorse.

Yeah. I feel the same.. Never in a million years would I have imagined that my phone wouldn't have come on launch day after six years of pre-ordering the most popular phone with ship dates a month away and still getting it on launch day. I now have the same dilemma where I'm heading away on vacation this Saturday and no one here to receive it if it comes while I'm gone and I likely won't have it for the vacation. I've moved from surprised too angry. Never again AT&T… Never again.

I don't even know if I'm angry at this point. I've never had an issue with the upgrade and pre-order process. Every time I have needed a new device, business or personal, I've went with iPhone - typically the most popular configuration even. Every time I've received it on launch day, with one exception, but then I even received a clear, concise answer with what was happening and a definitive delivery date. THAT was good customer service. This is just disappointing.

I wouldn't cancel anything until you have the phone you actually want, in hand.

Janelle's reasoning was that I reserved it using the IUP reservation site. I showed her all of the info she needed but she simply refused. Taking no for an answer after 15 minutes of arguing was enough for me to give up. I'm not really the yelling and causing a scene type. Fact is, I am on the IUP but I chose to pay full price because I didn't want to exchange with my current phone (sent it to my sister). The FAQ says I can choose to pay full price instead of financing if I want. And I selected a Sprint model because that one along with the Verizon model work with any carrier and is unlocked if you pay full price.

I'm confident I was in the right and Janelle was simply not in the mood to deal. I already forwarded all of this info to corporate but I'm not expecting any resolution. I'm one of I'm sure a very large number of people that have been treated poorly at the Apple Store University Village in Seattle.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I reserved a phone for in store pickup last night, only to find out my reservation has vanished from the system, I'm hoping it's just a glitch, wtf is the point of reserving for in store pickup if they cancel or **** up your reservation??

Has anyone received a shipping notification today or yesterday? Everyone else is just speculating which is fine, but it doesn't really give us any helpful information.

I'm sorry to hear that, I've been in that store for a couple of times before and they'd let me buy outright/full price a Verizon iPhone while have AT&T service and no questions asked.

They must have changed policies or management. Sadly I ordered my phone right now with at&t this year and I'm stuck with the whole wait.

Nothing. I'm assuming (Yeah I know) that we should see a bunch this week.

@phil-ga
Yeah but Apple won't let me reserve the phone on AT&T Next unless I cancel my order. Unless you're saying I can reserve it at full price and then change it to Next when I pick up?

Few more ATT +'s popped up this morning. Nothing in NC yet, I think they update around 11am.
