6 UPS flights from Louisville to DFW today. 3 already landed and 3 more will be in Dallas by 6:15 tonight if all go as scheduled.

I truly believe we will see a good deal of movement today.

Yeah, they had a lot of MB 7+s including the one I wanted, but my stupid-self didn't reserve it last night.

Anyone know if you can "purchase" full-price online and then switch to AT&T next when I pick it up?

I think at&t underestimated the demand in specific distribution regions such as the southeast which contains florida, georgia, texas, alabama, and many many more (some you wouldn't expect in that region) In doing so they had to beg for more shipments after selling out quickly. That puts them behind the shipments allotted to other carriers who ordered more units before them as well as apple's stock that they have alloted to their stores. I see many phones in the NYC area lately and targets and walmarts and best buy's around the nation but there isn't an iphone plus 256 within 250 miles of where I am in any store at all. I've looked every day for the hell of it. Since I'm around Atlanta, I get shipments from the Southeast distribution. It doesn't matter if i order at 3am and someone in minnesota orders at 2pm the next day, if the southeast doesn't have the stock but the distribution center for the midwest etc has stock, then they will get theirs first. It's logistics and normally it would ensure that everyone is serviced quickly. But when some dumbass doesn't estimate the demand like they should and then doesnt get the order for more units placed quick enough then everyone in that region falls behind regardless of when they ordered. Someone dropped the ball. However, they can't expect to know how popular it would be either. No one can. They were expecting this year's sales to be the worst and they've continued to climb. The plus models that didn't sell as well last year are coveted this year. It's really not something they could have predicted but I will say that their handling of it is a complete joke. I'd have much more respect for a company that just admits that they underestimated the demand and that they are doing everything they can to fix it than one that encourages customer service to feed customers a line of bull. If their system screwed up... I'd understand... stuff happens... but Jesus, be a company with some integrity that informs the customer of the issue and also what steps they are taking to fix it and how they are going to work harder in the future. That is what i would expect of anyone completely ***** me yearly in fees and trumped up pricing. At least earn it by making an effort.

You can't blame this one on AT&T or any of the carriers honestly. This one is all on Apple. They simply didn't make enough- for whatever reason. They don't even have sufficient stock for their own stores. They sold out within a couple of minutes of opening pre-orders. (I was finally able to place my order 15 minutes into the pre-order and the shipping for the 7 Plus had already slipped to 9/23.

I honestly think there was an issue discovered with the 7 Plus that they didn't get resolved in time to get launch day stock to sufficient levels- probably something to do with the camera or that extra gig of RAM they added to help with the image processing sensor.

For the people who have received their iPhone from UPS/FedEx/USPS what is the reference number that is posted on the shipping label?

TIA

How do we know that only At&t iphones go from louisville to dallas?

Janelle's reasoning was that I reserved it using the IUP reservation site. I showed her all of the info she needed but she simply refused. Taking no for an answer after 15 minutes of arguing was enough for me to give up. I'm not really the yelling and causing a scene type. Fact is, I am on the IUP but I chose to pay full price because I didn't want to exchange with my current phone (sent it to my sister). The FAQ says I can choose to pay full price instead of financing if I want. And I selected a Sprint model because that one along with the Verizon model work with any carrier and is unlocked if you pay full price.

I'm confident I was in the right and Janelle was simply not in the mood to deal. I already forwarded all of this info to corporate but I'm not expecting any resolution. I'm one of I'm sure a very large number of people that have been treated poorly at the Apple Store University Village in Seattle.

Thank you for your suggestions.
Here's the challenge. Take a look at the fine print of the IUP. If I recall correctly when I read it (I was once considering using this same plan), you have to first establish credit with Apple's third-party loan processor. Then, I think you have to make so many payments (maybe even just one) before you can fully pay for the phone on this plan.

More fundamental question. Why don't you simply pay full price outside of any plan, and then you can upgrade whenever you want to? I'm not seeing the benefit of trying to get on an iPhone Upgrade Plan but yet pay full price for the phone.

EDIT: I think your first line says it all. You originally ordered the phone via IUP. Apparently that has to be cancelled first and then you could go on, assuming that it's cancellable.

So crazy day on my end yesterday.

Started off at Midnight with me reserving a 256g matte black 7+ With Apple at a an Apple Store 2 1/2 hours from my house.

I woke up in the morning and canceled my AT&T preorder. And hit the road and called AT&T to have them reinstate my upgrade eligibility. I ended up being on the phone with them for 2 1/2 hours and it was worth every second.

In the end they said they couldn't do anything about my eligibility and I had to wait 24hrs for that to be fixed. But they did reverse my next plan payments for what I still owed.

Essentially they wiped the 6 months I still owed clean allowing me to get my phone via the Apple upgrade program.

So I was able to pick up my phone and I'm now month to month with AT&T. Then to top it off last night I noticed that my att/directv bill went from me owing them $339 to them owing me $109..

So this morning I called and asked about it. Apparently when they reversed my installments they credited my acct what I still owed on my phone.. and the best part is that it is staying that way. They called it a one time credit.. I've called back 6 different times to confirm this.. lol

Oh and they don't want my 6s back and Apple didn't make me give it to them so I just sold it to Gazelle for $272..

So my impatience for once really benefited me!

-I got my 7+ 256g matte black
-$440 credited to my AT&T acct which fully paid this months bill and about 1/3 of next months bill.
- I get to sell my old phone $272
- I'm not under contract with AT&T. So I can switch whenever I want (but I still owe Apple for this phone so I'll stick around for at least a year until I get my next iPhone)

I'd say it's been a good 2 days!

Dallas is AT&T's fulfillment hub. Louisville is UPS' main hub I believe. You can track planes coming from China to Alaska and then on to Louisville.
How can u track without know flight numbers ? Can you just put in UPS ?

I know that but do none of the other carriers or apple ship from dallas?

As someone sitting in one of the UPS facilities at the Louisville airport, I can confirm that Louisville is our main air hub, Worldport. Can't confirm any other information since A - I don't have it and B - I like my job.

I'm beginning to think it actually might be all the way until my estimated shipping delivery before I see my phone. I just can't imagine that. But it's sort of seeming that way. There's been absolutely zero communication between AT&T and me since pre-order night other than my confirmation order. Absolutely unimaginable.

so this is how crazy att is, a family member of mine just ordered the 7+ rose gold 256 last night at 9pm(est) and it was just picked up and getting shipped for delivery tomorrow. How is that possible???

Well you definitely got taken care of in my situation I canceled my preorder and then immediately wanted to re-order and my eligibility wasn't showing online so I called on the phone and he was able to reorder the phone and reinstate the upgrade eligibility or what not and ever since then the order that I have has been in progress and Saturday with no movement I'm wondering if he had an issue with reinstating as well since you were told 24 hours and mine was supposedly done in minutes...and of course I'm told to wait until tomorrow night....wait wait wait

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe Sprint is in Kansas. Not sure about Tmobile or Verizon.

It's not just AT&T phones. Just iPhones in general. I have a friend who her mom works for UPS, coordinating planes and she said they're getting tons of iPhones and having planes fly out with nothing but phones on them. She also said though that they don't have enough planes coming through for the amount of phones that are being shipped. So maybe just that many people ordered phones.

Easy to understand. Rose gold is the least popular color this year. They have plenty of supply of it. Even my local AT&T store has plenty of silver and rose gold 7+ this week.

My biggest fear with this disaster of a roll out by ATT is that we will never get our phones. Clearly they have no stock of Pluses and they are just BS'ing us with the pathetic fake "preparing to ship" order status nonsense, and these phony shipping window dates of 9/23/9-30. They don't have them now, and they're not going to have them by Friday. They just don't want people to cancel in mass.
They lie al the time. Their "official" reason for their site going down 90 minutes into preorder was "scheduled routine maintenance". Lol what kind of moron schedules "routine maintenance" 90 minutes into their biggest sales day of the year? That is how stupid they think we are. I had a supervisor finally admit the site crashed. These people had months to prepare their servers for that night. I don't trust this company at all. After 10 years, I'm ready to leave.
Thing is, this is EXACTLY what happened to my 6+ 128GB order 2 years ago. Had a ship date of early October after the pre order. Excuse after excuse, and I didn't get my ****ing phone until December 19th.

Everything screams that exact same situation.
