I don't understand why people are cancelling their orders... if you had a ship date listed of 9/23-9/30 (as I do) when you ordered the phone I don't get how anyone could be upset or frustrated. It isn't even the 23rd for 3 more days!

Sure there is all this anecdotal evidence of people getting their phones earlier after having ordered later, but how reliable is that information? We don't really know. It is bothersome if true, but still...I was giving a shipping estimate of 9/23 and the world isn't fair.

People are putting so much time and effort into this! I don't understand it! I literally did not even think about my 128GB MB 7+ all weekend. I had other things to do. I'll worry about it when my quoted shipping dates lapse.

I came here to see if anyone is getting any EARLY movement on their phones with 9/23 shipping dates and it looks like they haven't. Oh well...I guess I might not get my phone EARLIER than AT&T said I would.
 
Someone just tried to pull a fast one on me. This guy just came into my work and had an iPhone 6+ and had a case on it and I noticed the screen was super clean at first. I was like "Oh, is that the new one?" And he was like "Oh yeah! I just got it yesterday blahblahblah" saying he preordered, paid $1200 for it and got it in yesterday. Then I noticed there was a headphone jack and I'm pretty sure the 258 gig doesn't even cost that much.

Can someone please enlighten me as to whether I can order for pick up online at Apple's website using Installments or full price and then change to AT&T Next in store?

Your right that he was scamming you, as you spotted the headphone jack. As far as the cost goes, that would depend somewhat on the what one would purchase with it, and the sales tax. If someone bought an iPhone 7+ 256 GB and a case and air pods you could be looking at $1200.00, but for just the phone alone, since it is $969 then the sales tax would have to be quite high.
 
I am so mad with AT&T. Even if I place an order on apple.com right now, the estimated DELIVERY date is a week sooner than AT&T's estimated SHIPPING date. WTF? I placed my order 10 days ago on AT&T!

Is apple fulfilling shipments for apple.com first then at&t? But this is utterly unfair! I'm so tempted to cancel my at&t order and just order again on apple.com today.
 
So crazy day on my end yesterday.

Started off at Midnight with me reserving a 256g matte black 7+ With Apple at a an Apple Store 2 1/2 hours from my house.

I woke up in the morning and canceled my AT&T preorder. And hit the road and called AT&T to have them reinstate my upgrade eligibility. I ended up being on the phone with them for 2 1/2 hours and it was worth every second.

In the end they said they couldn't do anything about my eligibility and I had to wait 24hrs for that to be fixed. But they did reverse my next plan payments for what I still owed.

Essentially they wiped the 6 months I still owed clean allowing me to get my phone via the Apple upgrade program.

So I was able to pick up my phone and I'm now month to month with AT&T. Then to top it off last night I noticed that my att/directv bill went from me owing them $339 to them owing me $109..

So this morning I called and asked about it. Apparently when they reversed my installments they credited my acct what I still owed on my phone.. and the best part is that it is staying that way. They called it a one time credit.. I've called back 6 different times to confirm this.. lol

Oh and they don't want my 6s back and Apple didn't make me give it to them so I just sold it to Gazelle for $272..

So my impatience for once really benefited me!

-I got my 7+ 256g matte black
-$440 credited to my AT&T acct which fully paid this months bill and about 1/3 of next months bill.
- I get to sell my old phone $272
- I'm not under contract with AT&T. So I can switch whenever I want (but I still owe Apple for this phone so I'll stick around for at least a year until I get my next iPhone)

I'd say it's been a good 2 days!
Something interesting also happened to me yesterday involving the topic of credits. I've been going back and forth for days deciding if I want to take advantage of the free iPhone promotion to get my installment payments down each month. I decided I did want to do it, but I still owe $340 on my 6s since I've only had it 12 months.. I called AT&T yesterday and explained that I had paid my 12 required installments on my current next plan which made me eligible to preorder, but when I preordered it only asked me to pay tax on my 7+, it never gave me the option to pay off the rest of my device.. The rep said from the looks of my account the website must've also glitched in that right and wiped my $340 remaining balance like it was paid. He got his supervisor involved and said they were baffled by it but they had put a note on my account that states "due to an error by AT&T, I owe no further balance on my iPhone 6s and it is mine outright." He also adamantly suggested that I sell my phone on eBay for more than what AT&T will give me for the promotion.. So that made me happy. Still no MB 128+ though. So not that happy..

I had a shipping date of 9/23-9/30 and will have my phone tomorrow. I got the tracking on Sunday.

Noticed that too, it popped up a few days after my 3am preorder. Still no movement on my account though lol
 
How do we know that only At&t iphones go from louisville to dallas?

We don't. UPS has a hub in Louisville and packages needing to transfer from their Louisville hub to their Dallas hub will take that route. This includes iPhones and other packages. When (If?) AT&T ships your order it will be with a phone in Dallas. Your phone will be sent to you either via UPS or FedEx (with a small chance of being sent USPS).

Doubt it means anything - I have an installment plan showing for a JB 7 that I canceled the other day - it was in preparing for shipment status when I canceled. The installment plan shows as not active but it is there. The installment plans also show as inactive for the two current 6s phones as well as the two 7+'s on order (both preparing for shipment.)

can you pull up your contract on the installment and see your imei#? That might be helpful in seeing if your phone has been assigned.... just a suggestion... i've been checking there myself and my latest downloads a pdf with nothing in it so far :)
 
So I got the back order text using *6737# at around 6 and since then I haven't seen any movement and card has not been charged...should I worry or do you think it'll still ship soon?

And the appointment isn't until Thursday. I just assumed it was today. Earilest they have is Thursday. That's crazy.

Seems this is an issue that has affected plenty of iPhone 7/7+'s. There's already threads in the forums for this topic. A lot of people upset that it's a lot warmer and much dimmer than the iPhone 6/6+ was. During Keynote, they made it a big deal that the 7 is 25% brighter than the last iPhone. But for some reason, it's not. They are speculating it's a software issue. I'm experiencing the same thing on mines as I've compared it with my 6+ and 6s+..

Here's the challenge. Take a look at the fine print of the IUP. If I recall correctly when I read it (I was once considering using this same plan), you have to first establish credit with Apple's third-party loan processor. Then, I think you have to make so many payments (maybe even just one) before you can fully pay for the phone on this plan.

More fundamental question. Why don't you simply pay full price outside of any plan, and then you can upgrade whenever you want to? I'm not seeing the benefit of trying to get on an iPhone Upgrade Plan but yet pay full price for the phone.

EDIT: I think your first line says it all. You originally ordered the phone via IUP. Apparently that has to be cancelled first and then you could go on, assuming that it's cancellable.

Yeah, I think you do have to make at least one payment then you can pay it off early (which is what I did last night after visiting the store). I tried to pay full price, but they said no. When I tried to order the phone through AT&T, the shipping time was October, so I tried with Apple. There was a link at the top (the same one posted here earlier) that said if you are on the IUP, click here. I did, it asked me for my serial and last four of IMEI. After I entered it it gave me some choices about where to reserve and what model I wanted. I chose Sprint because I heard it works on all carriers. And the email confirmation said that I can choose to purchase at full price if I wanted.

Yep the screen is warm and dim, which pisses me off coming from Super Amoled screens on Samsung phones, this screen is a major step DOWN. I'm peeved because they said it was 25 percent bright than the 6s+ but I compared to my friend's 6s+ and it's NOT.

Not sure what I'm gonna do. Live with it, hope it gets better or go to Apple and try to get a new one.

No worries at this point and it should ship soon. Just ATT SOP's :rolleyes:. My card has been charged but no back order or shipment notification....so almost there. Hope to see those shipment notifications soon...

What I want to know is why Apple isn't giving AT&T more phones. Obviously Apple has stock as evidenced by the store reservations & quick shipping of recently placed orders. While AT&T has done a very poor job of communicating our statuses, they still can ship only what they have. Apple has seriously screwed AT&T by not giving them enough stock.
Apple doesn't have stock. They had to take stock from Best Buy just to fill upgrade orders AND no Apple retail stores had Plus phones on launch day, only regular 7s 4.7-inch and they didn't even have any jet black regular 7s on launch day. So how do you figure Apple has stock? Apple already said that they knew they weren't going to have enough stock to fill demand, that's why they aren't releasing first week sales because it's governed by supply not demand this time around. They said the double camera on the Plus turned out to be difficult to manufacture, so they were unable to produce enough to meet demand right now. Hence why no Apple retail stores even had Pluses on launch day. Apple is not sitting on stock.

Same here!! I was looking forward to the 25% brighter screen! I powered off my 6s+ so I wouldn't obsess too much with comparisons. But it isn't working.. I'm hoping it gets fixed with OTA update.. :(

I'm beginning to think it actually might be all the way until my estimated shipping delivery before I see my phone. I just can't imagine that. But it's sort of seeming that way. There's been absolutely zero communication between AT&T and me since pre-order night other than my confirmation order. Absolutely unimaginable.

Wait, you're saying it's unimaginable that you're getting exactly what's promised? Sorry I know everyone is excited for this but getting furious when you were promised a date before confirming an order and you agreed to it.
