I'm still waiting on a Matte Black 128 GB. "In progress" ship date Sept 23 - 30. I received Gold Plus 128 and in other news, why does the app store keep becoming unresponsive??? Often when I open it, it just freezes and doesn't respond?
 
After what happened this year with AT&T pre orders, I wouldn't be surprised if not a single person pre orders with them again. Next year on pre order day when the site goes live and no one is ordering, they will be wondering if their site is even working.

I sometimes wonder if they intentionally make online pre ordering difficult. I think they want everyone to line up outside the stores on launch day because it's good publicity. Look at all the free advertising they get from the media covering how long the lines are.

Cancelled my AT&T pre-order last night and grabbed a Verizon 7+ MB 128GB instead. Picking it up from the Apple Store after work.

Originally order from AT&T @ 11:57pm 09/09 before preorders officially opened.

My original Apple order for an AT&T version should be here tomorrow but apparently some kind of setback so I may not get it until Thursday. It's going back anyway..
 
I'm not sure if this means anything but noticed the installment plan for my iPhone 7 Plus on myATT app today. Still preparing for shipment though.


I've had that same thing on my account since day one, still no movement. 7+ MB 128GB ordered 9/9 at 3AM ET.

128gb MB Plus sitting on preparing to ship since 4:30am 9/9. Still not convinced there isn't a glitch of some sort with a chunk of those orders.
 
So I contacted the AT&T Cares twitter and they provided a number to call to check my order since it's "in progress" and I never got a second email with a shipping window. The response? "You probably should go into the store and check because I'm concerned since it's been 6 days and you haven't gotten the second email. But there's no other information I can see."

I'm stuck with AT&T ordering because I have a new account with a port that I'm doing. I wish I could just pre-order with Apple at this point.

I'm in the same situation. I wish I could cancel and just order through Apple. So frustrating!!
 
So I got the back order text using *6737# at around 6 and since then I haven't seen any movement and card has not been charged...should I worry or do you think it'll still ship soon?
That happened to me and it shipped a few hours later. Technically the phone shipped Monday. I got the backorder on Sunday. My phone will be here tomorrow via Ups. They just put a $1 hold on my account today.

What cases does everyone recommend? I'm thinking about buying the leather case from Apple, but I'm not sure how well it will protect my phone?

That will never happen. People will always pre-order there. May be significantly less next year, though. But, we'll see. We're all gluttons for punishment! Also, no point in lining up this year if you wanted a plus.
 
I went to the AT&T store today. Despite making an appointment, I waited around a half hour for someone to be available to speak to. I started by asking if they had any 7 Plus models in stock. No, they never have. Got it. I then asked what they're hearing about phone availability. I was told "I keep hearing that we'll be shipping additional phones out when we get them from Apple, which may not be until late October or November. They are still backordered themselves." I asked about the Jet Black preorder I have (delivery Oct 14-21, ordered at 2:59 AM EST), and was told "Like I said, we don't have any phones at AT&T, and we're just hoping that we have some for the busy Christmas season. I would expect you to receive your phone when AT&T has them to ship to you."

At that point, my answer was clear. Cancelled my pre-order in store, the upgrade immediately restored to my account, and I placed my Apple Store order for a 128 GB Matte Black Plus before I left just to make sure there were no issues. Ironically, my shipping window provided by Apple is Oct. 13-19 - just slightly before the one that AT&T provided from day one. Here's hoping that's a sign that this nightmare is winding to a close. I will never order from a carrier again.
 
Two 7+ cases have arrived, but still no actual phone. I might cry soon.

My 7+ case (Spigen Slim Armor) is being delivered today also. This makes the first time I've had the case before the phone. Its usually the other way around.

I normally use Otterbox, but went with Spigen Slim Armor this time. The phone has not come yet, but the case will be here today.

I used Apple leather cases for my 6 and 6S. They did a great job protecting my devices. My phones dropped to the ground multiple times without leaving any mark. The only complain I have is that the dye will fall out and might get onto your table, clothes, etc.

So if at&t phones are coming from Dallas are we receiving shipping information then or when they leave from china? I'm still processing since 9/9. Estimated ship 10/14-10/21 128 JB+

I got the Unicorn Beetle case directly from Supcase. I've started using them as my go-to case place as they have cases as soon as the phones are released, are less than half the price of Otterbox with a much better design. The quality, fit and finish of the cases are top-notch. I give them my highest recommendation.

I got shipping information starting from Fort Worth, Texas. As far as phones come from China, I gotta figure those phones are not assigned to anyone and they aren't assigned until they get state side. At that point you'll get an individual tracking number.
