Carrier iPhone 7/7+ AT&T Pre-Order Thread

My wife got her phone in-store on launch day and she got a text. As did I, but my ship date is still November. I think they just sent them to anyone who bought a 7/7+.

No change in *6737# order status or online. Doesn't seem like they'd change up the process now and start doing things differently.

Mine went to back ordered around 6pm yesterday...less than 5 hours until it's been 24hrs so I'm slowly losing hope that mine actually means something
 
I also received the "Your iPhone 7 Plus is on its way" text, but I cancelled my order last week. I'm currently chatting with an AT&T rep who says my order was definitely cancelled. I asked why I had received it at all, and their response was "no Worries, that message was Settled up when you made the Order".
 
The big tell tale sign that it was spam was the "reminder" of the trade in program. Just a big can of spam for us to enjoy. Unless you get an email from ATT saying your phone has shipped than just assume its sitting in a warehouse "preparing to ship".

QUESTION... when i check my order status summary online It still says preparing to ship and i didnt get a text or anything but now i have "pending shipment" where the tracking number goes.... Has that been there this whole time because I have looked at this every day and for some reason I think that is new. Still just pending shipment preparing to ship in progress blah blah blah but anything different is good.

Now I'm not happy. I said yesterday I understand I'd be waiting until possibly the 30th but don't send me a text saying it's on it's way.. then I check my status every which way possible and NOTHING! No change. I checked every online order status check, the *6737# method, and calling.

The lady is like "Oh no sir, those are delayed. Long wait times. We show no movement."

Well, why did you just text me? It better update shortly that's upsetting right there.. it's one thing to wait until the 30th, but it's another to get a message as if it shipped and no status change...

Mine read the same way up until it actually shipping.
 
Despite what the Macrumors article says, there is a major dearth of iPhone 7 and 7+'s in all of the U S. even the major flagship stores such as the State Street store in Chicago have none, zero, zilch. Until this improves I don't see our situation improving at all.

A few weeks ago someone on this forum started a thread asking what would be the first "gate" that people would complain about. I think we're seeing it now in "DeliveryGate, or Shippinggate". The failure to ship or deliver in a timely manner.

All may work out yet, however. Keep in mind that Tim Cook was brought into Apple by Steve Jobs for his logistical expertise. My dates like many others are 9/23 to 9/30, so technically I cannot complain until 11:59 PM on 9/30.

I think the text is spam but it has a trigger in order to send. If you are doing a trade in, then you should have received the text. The trigger for when is between (or near) the ship date and the expected date of delivery. So pretty sure the text still says something about status.
 
It's pretty comical though.:D

I didn't sign up for a trade. I didn't even know the plan until I got the text so I don't know why it was sent to me.

What about folks who already have their phones or those who have cancelled their orders? I want to say this was just a spam email that was scheduled to be sent out to any and all members.
