7+ MB 256 Shipped today. I know there have been some questions as to whether anyone who ordered this particular capacity and color have received shipping notifications.
(That's an iPhone 7 Plus Black (not Jet Black) 256GB)
My order says 2:55am ET on 9/9 but I'm sure I ordered a few minutes after 3:00am ET. Showed me a delivery window of 9/23-9/30. I immediately got 2 emails from AT&T confirming. Then today I got another email with the tracking number. Status shows below.
So, it looks like I'm getting it a day before AT&T promised. I have always ordered either from Apple or more frequently AT&T and have always received the phone on launch day (or before a couple of times). This will be the first time I didn't receive it on launch day, but as far as I can recall, the time between the announcement or pre-order opening to the launch date has always been 2 weeks at least. I think this is the first time the pre-orders opened so soon after the announcement.
I can't imagine what a logistical masterpiece that must have occurred for Apple and the carriers to organize such a vast number of phones to be manufactured, provisioned, packaged, shipped and delivered to what I hear as being the biggest launch day order event they have ever had. I mean, for what must be a tiny fraction of people who ordered through AT&T that are active on this particular thread, there must be thousands more who just read it without contributing to the conversation. And then there are the ones who are likely the vast majority that never bother to check these forums. It blows my mind to think that entire jets are filled to the brim with these technological wonders just days or hours after they are manufactured in China, and delivered to us tech-loving creatures with such apparent ease and speed.
So despite all the moaning and complaining about delivery dates, lack of moment-by-moment notifications, such limited stock to pick up in stores (and that's just my own complaints), I am still here, still watching with great interest with my sisters and brothers and distant cousins from around the world, the wonder that is iPhone.
I give a hearty fist-bump to everyone at Apple, for making such a great product and keeping us excited year after year, to everyone in the Chinese factories for having such skill and working tirelessly for crappy wages so their families can have a decent meal, to all of the shipping personnel at FedEx and UPS for making the world a very small place and getting things anywhere so fast and so efficiently, to everyone at AT&T for handling all of our phone calls, texts, and cashing our monthly checks with such ease and efficiency, to all of you here on the forum and this thread who have kept me occupied and smiling, and to Steve who made the best keynote speeches and whom I dearly miss.
