Can someone help give me the link to where I can see all of the ups or fedex (whichever carries iphones) planes are flying to JFK or Laguardia? Im having trouble figuring out that flightaware site. Thanks
Maybe because I'm in an apartment.Most people have reported not having to sign for the FedEx shipment.
I'm officially in the "backordered" camp now!! 7 Plus 256GB matte black

Same boat here, ordered 4 minutes in and still no phone 128 MB+Im stuck using a 4 right now cause my 6 plus broke, so unlike some, i actually really need this phone. If i had my 6 plus it wouldnt be that big of a deal. And i was one of many who stayed up super late on a work night to preorder this phone, only to watch others who preordered it so many hours, even days after i did, receive it before me. I'm being as patient as i can. Lol
Ok guys, it's been fun. I put my middle finger up at ATT, I reserved a phone at Apple in Charlotte and just picked it up. After picking it up I cancelled my order with ATT and when asked for a reason, I told them exactly why. And I didn't candy coat it. So that frees up another MB+128 for you guys. Good luck!
My 256gb Matte Black iPhone 7 plus ordered on 09/09/2016 at 2:00:24 am central time is now on back order. Progress?
I don't think they know either. I don't like the way they handled any of this. If you're happy, I'm happy for you.I'm going to address these points, just because
- Shipping way out of order: This thread addresses the issue, somewhat (see also the part speaking of hand-packing 2 million preorders);
- Ridiculous and misleading junk email telling us our phones were "on the way": Various reports here state that some folks who either cancelled or otherwise received their phones appeared to have received the same message. On this point, I'd agree; bad form on AT&T's part. Another report stated many escalated this to AT&T;
- The insane "scheduled maintenance" 90 minutes into preorder:
This one I happen to have some experience with in having directly or indirectly overseen more hardware and software deployments than I care to count. Prior to preorder, even Apple had their entire store go down from like 8pm ET until preorder (and they didn't even open back up till 3:15am 9/9, at least in my browsers and on my phones). AT&T and Best Buy (the only others I cared to watch) were similarly "down" regarding preorders until approximately 3:01am ET (maybe somewhat sooner).
In all likelihood, such a "scheduled maintenance" was very likely the preparation that they were not taking orders until "the" time to do so. Was this absolute? Of course not, as many have allegedly stated in this thread, and as I experienced two years ago with my and my wife's iPhone 6 Pluses (ordered about five til 3 that time).
So, this "scheduled maintenance" is highly unlikely to be what you think it is -- that AT&T took a plurality/majority of their systems down right in the middle of the highest point of ordering during the year.
You see, when companies like AT&T have to be audited under such quality assurance schemas as Sarbanes-Oxley, they pretty much have to have Change Review Boards and similar infrastructure. That means that for each and every deployment, there is a release manager who must get a certain number of approvals from a certain number of individuals to even be able to move forward on a given deployment. That's why things are so slow to change in many corporations. And even if it's not SOX (which companies use to appease outside third-party vendors that they know what they're doing for internal changes), it's likely protocol for AT&T corporate.
Moving on...
- They go live a half hour before anyone else which caused a hiccup in the system: Again, not sure exactly where this is going. As I mentioned, I had an experience of preordering before preorder two years ago, but still got my iPhone 6 Pluses within promised shipping window (yes, I still have the emails and yes, I checked). At the time, a CSR told me that those such as me who got in before 3am were put in to the upstream system at some point after the real order time; not sure if that's what happened here or not. Either way, we don't actually know to what degree the FIFO method worked, or even if it did at all. Therefore, we don't have enough data to state whether or not something anomalous did occur.
tl;dr: We partially agree and disagree, but there's more to what's going on with the preorder process than what anyone knows (except maybe company insiders).
Does anyone have any word on Silver 128 or 256? I've seen a lot at an apple store but i cant go get them. I just opened up my att to order the phones and port over from sprint when they get here. How long is the 4th line free on Unlimited date offer good for? Will ATT honor that if it ends before I get the phones?
