I've always ordered my new iPhone directly from the Apple site. This time, I went the AT&T route. Even if my phone does come Sept. 23-30, I'm still pretty happy. When typically do they send out the notice that your order has shipped?
From this evening to Thursday.

Those who were lucky enough to get a Sept 16 date (most likely for a regular 7), please let us know when yours ships :)

just checked mine to see if there had been any updates, still reads the same.

Order Date: 9/9/2016 @ 8:49:12 am
Order Status: Preparing to ship
Item: Iphone 7+ 128 G matte black
Item Status: Processing
Tracking Number: Pending Shipping
Shipping Date: 9/23-9/30

Like an earlier post said, the next few days will give us a better idea of how accurate these dates are. Fingers crossed these were automatically set as a "worst case scenario" date but honestly if I have to wait another week or two I wont lose my mind. Would still like it on launch day though :)
Weird. I ordered my 32GB Black 7 at like 9AM and I have 9/15 shipping date.

wonder if the fact that I have the 7+ at 128g made that big of a difference. I see a lot of folks getting the same kind so I wonder how popular that particular version is.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that everyone who preordered that weekend of the 9th is going to get their phone on launch day. I ordered mine at 1:53 AM CT, 128 GB 7 Plus Matte Black. And I got a 9/23-9/30 shipping date.

I disagree...I ordered the 6plus Friday morning around 6am of the release and got the phone a week after launch.

Is this for a JB+ or a matte +? I finished my order right around 11:55 pm pacific for a matte 256 + and received a shipping window at the beginning of week two (9-23/9-30). I'm hopeful about getting it a bit sooner.

No one but those whom purchased direct from Apple have any tracking data at all. When those UPS cargo planes start leaving Louisville for Dallas, we'll know there will finally be some movement inside the ATT system. Not until then.
Mine is jet black

Is the trade in deal worth it if you have an iPhone 6? I have an iPhone 6 64GB thats I originally paid the subsidized $299. It's in great condition and I can probably sell it on eBay for about $300. If I trade it in I get the $650 and a new phone. After 30 months, I'll own this one. Am I missing something?

The phone has to be paid off in full to trade it in and in good condition. I personally think it is worth it. Paying mine off and trading it in. Same phone. You're still responsible for the sales tax on the new phone and an upgrade feee if its not waived via a FAN or rep.

Yes… Darn it… I've been misstating from my first post in this thread. AT&T definitely uses FedEx and not UPS. Everywhere I've said UPS I meant FedEx. My apologies. UPS is for Apple. They use them pretty exclusively.

The one year I ordered directly from Apple, my iPhone 5S… came from UPS… and also on launch day.

Having worked my entire career in logistics I marvel at the fact that Apple is able to get their products in the hands of their consumers so quickly. I think I heard somewhere that Apple completely turns over it's entire inventory almost once a week. It must be a logistics nightmare every year for the people involved in this.
I read it is every 5 days they turn it over next best in the tech industry is 10. these numbers are from 2013 or 2014 I saw that article a few days ago it is amazing how they do it.

Received an automated text from ATT about activating the insurance on the new device via the activation page. Not sure if it's them getting ahead of themselves or a sign of a potential shipment. Gives 52 days to complete the process. 52 days from the initial request that is.

I just now got below message from AT&T. I have got insurance on my new iphone 7.

AT&T Free Msg: The insurance requested to cover your new device is not yet active. To complete your enrollment, locate and insert the SIM card that shipped with your device and visit att.com/activations to finish the setup process. Otherwise, your insurance request will be canceled 52 days from the request date. Thanks for choosing AT&T.

Me too.....

Not sure if this has been mentioned previously. I just got an alert from ATT saying that the insurance requested to cover my new device is not yet active. To complete enrollment insert sim card and activate the device. Must be done with in 52 days. I don't recall having seen that in previous years. Could that be an indicator that the phone is near shipping once that message is received if you have insurance on your device?

Ordered 7 plus regular black 256g. Ship date Sept 23rd-Sept 30th.

Yup that could mean good news. You probably wouldn't get that if your delivery was 2 weeks away. That gives hope to others as well, I don't have insurance so I can't tell but hopefully this is a positive sign.

Sorry to burst any bubbles, but when your preorder is placed a charge appears, it goes away and then it comes back again when the phone is shipped. I preordered phones in 2010 and 2014 and those have been the scenarios for each.
I think it depends on the bank I have chase and my charge hasn't gone anywhere.
