Has any 7 plus shipped in black
[doublepost=1473860367][/doublepost]Who's in the Chicago area that wants to camp out with me if our phones don't ship by tomorrow. I'm not racist lol I swear

I'm in Chicago and my phone shipped but I will camp out with you because I wanted Matte Black and ordered Gold because the Matte black estimated shipping it was giving me was early October. So I want to camp out at the AT&T store and try to get matte black.
I live in Lakeview. What area do you think will have short lines?

This is not correct. FlightAware is guessing based upon past years. There are zero preorder iPhones coming thru the Louisville hub this year due to logistics reasons. Some will end up here Thursday night for final shipping but not on the initial mass shipments.

Incorrect. They still are in fact using the Louisville, KY hub. I have a couple friends who's phone have already shipped from there.

Well you can verify it when you get your tracking info lol but my source can be determined by my username and location. I will just say these phones are heavily guarded along the logistics route. So I can't provide info I may know but nothing says I can't provide info I know is NOT happening. ;)
Mmmkay. I wasn't expecting anyone to reveal non-disclosure-type of things by any stretch (I would have hoped that this could have gone unsaid).

Perhaps the better question is, does every carrier use the same logistics provider? In the past for many years, Apple used UPS, but this is an AT&T thread. Maybe FedEx is used by AT&T? I don't know.

Therefore, none of this might have anything to do with what you, per se, know, unless you're in the know in the industry enough to know what every carrier uses (and AT&T, obviously, would be of particular importance to know here).

Thanks.

Matte Black been like this since friday, however, my fathers 7 128g Matte black shipped this morning, he ordered his a whole 5 hours after me :(
Know that feeling lol I order 2:45am . 15 mins before preorder same phone... 7plus 128

By the way, if your shipping (not Delivery) dates show something beyond this Friday, I'm very confused why you would think that you'd receive the device by this Friday. These dates are given for a reason, so quit causing yourself so much consternation; know that you're in line to get one, and you'll get one :)

My original shipping dates were estimated between 9/30 - 10/7, and I received a shipping confirmation this morning. It will be here on Friday. And my order went through at 2:58 EST last Friday morning.

This happens every year with preorders. Even though I got a date 2 weeks out, I was very confident I was getting it on launch day.

Apple is reallocating stock to upgrade program members. Hopefully this doesn't affect our shipments. Read the home page macrumors.com

Those who have phones that have shipped - did your card get charged before?

I've had a hold on mine since I ordered Saturday, and the hold is still there. Have not been officially charged as of now but I'm sure that'll change soon-ish.

What stock of plenty? LOL - it seems like the stock is non existent
Personally, when it comes to these types of things, I don't deal with "seems like," I deal with what's actually occurring.

From the beginning of the pre-ordering process, because I'm anal-lytical, I tracked what was going on between the Jet Black and Matte Black shipping dates across both Apple and AT&T (the only ones I really cared about). By 4am ET, Jet Black was already heading towards end of October for shipping. As I mentioned in another comment, Matte Black remained quite viable as shipping by end of September well into 9/9/2016.

Therefore, by sheer intuition (shameless try at sarcastic humor), the dates remaining relatively stable for Matte Black versus Jet Black strongly suggest to me that there was either more of a demand for Jet Black and/or the inventory for Jet Black was less than for Matte Black.

They may have shipped from a carrier hub in Louisville but they did not come from Anchorage into Louisville UPS. That is what the flight aware is referring to. There are about 60 facilities that use the Louisville name on shipping information but there is only one place that Anchorage flights land. So when they see Louisville on their shipping info any time before Thursday night, its a carrier hub that received iPhones from another city by truck after they were flown into the states.

Incorrect. They still are in fact using the Louisville, KY hub. I have a couple friends who's phone have already shipped from there.

Then that's fantastic.

Considering there's always the unknown (to consumers) variable that these shipping dates are estimates and could be worst-case, then being able to get one significantly sooner is certainly joyous.

My original point was for those who were having a bit of a "weeping and gnashing of teeth" moment regarding their own devices that common sense (maybe not so common any more) would suggest that expecting earlier shipping dates is irrational until such time as getting a notification changes that.

While I appreciate intuition and other such kinesthetic systems of thought/feeling, I think that shipping inventory is more a function of available devices than it has anything to do with how one feels about the process :)

But it was seem odd that no one who has ordered through AT&T would be getting a 7 plus black 128gb on launch day unless Apple just provided zero inventory. Which I guess is possible.

I'm in Chicago. Ugh wanted my phone Friday. There is still hope. We still have a full day to see if ours ships.

Apple has made a lot more 7's and 7 Pluses available for reservation for those who went through the Apple Upgrade Program. Doubt they manufactured so many so fast so they must have taken inventory from carriers. Perhaps AT&T got hit the hardest.

I really don't think that's fair if that is the case.

7 Regular. 128 GB. matte black.

Ordered last Friday morning at about 730 AM Mountain time. Got Fedex tracking number this morning. Shipping to Denver via Fedex. Scheduled arrival 9/16 by 3 PM.
