iPhone 7 with iOS 10.0.2 here. I confirm that disabling the triple click feature works for me. The animation is "almost" as fast as it is in my good old 6s :)

Yeah it definitely is better. Still have a glitched animation but not too bad.

I have this triple click disabled since i use my first iphone in 2010... the first thing i noticed when i set up the iphone 7 was the glitchy animations. So maybe its better than with triple click enabled, but still very noticable!

Think of others and please use dots and commas. Thank you :)

The home button is definetly more responsive but overall the experience is better on my 6s or even iPad Air 2.

I noticed as well that if the app you quit is not in the home screen page where you retourned, it's not so smooth. Weird!

Yeah it is a better smoother animation on my Air 2 as well, super smooth. Certainly Apple should be able to get the 7 to have as smooth if not smoother of an experience as the air 2 and 6s.

I reported this during the public betas and everyone said I was nuts turning on things like magnifier did not affect performance. I always noticed it did affect the closing animation (caused lag) on my 6S+. It did get better over time, but even now If I really concentrate there’s a very subtle hit to animations with magnifier on.

yea just downgraded to 10.0.3 and still same if not worse, apple are annoying as hell, and for the fools saying its not a bug a feature no its not it works only sometimes

While at the beginning I found it super annoying , I don't pay attention to this lag anymore.
As long as i don't compare my 7 to any other Iphone it's ok for me :-D

My eyes are getting slightly used to it, but I still notice it. Sometimes it seems worse than others though.

lets pray 10.1 final will be fixed, doubtful lol

Very slim chance. I feel like I always buy the wrong iPhone. Every time I decide to buy an iPhone, there's problems with it. Maybe I should start buying the "S" models because they tend to correct everything that was wrong with the full model.

Are you saying that software issues somehow don't affect them?

I'm saying that I always buy the phone that has problems.

iPhone 4 - Antenna issue (4s fixed it)
iPhone 6 - Bending issue (6s fixed it)
iPhone 7 - Creaking, yellow screen, humming and animation problem (iPhone 7s will probably fix those things)

I'm gonna start only buying the "s" versions (also known as the fixed version of the previous iPhone)

iPhone 5 also had battery issues, purple lens flare, and high rate of lock button fails.

The yellow screen issue has been present for just about every single one of apple's products. The humming also has been present as well, its physics. All CPUs do it. Yeah Apple probably should have suppressed this more but it isn't a deal breaker. Now for recording in silent rooms...software could mitigate the issue. If there's no sound, maybe turn the mic down a little. Maybe create a correcting algorithm that can somehow remove or quiet the sound. Also if the video is silent anyway, why not simply strip out the sound? Also if you're recording for something serious you a.) should be using a dedicated camera or b.) be using a dedicated mic.

Not to familiar with the creaking but I do know the 6 had lots of clicking around the corners if you pushed on them. Not an entirely new issue either.

The animation problems will likely be fixed by software.
