Animation bug is definitely not fixed. An easy way to see if if you press the home button before or while an app is loading, its smooth. But then, once it fully opens its still jerky when you close the app. Its got this weird acceleration going on still.
Yeah I just want it to be as smooth as it is when you quickly press the button after opening an app.

The annoying thing is, on the 6S this bug doesn't exist, so my 6S actually feels faster.

Scrolling performance in Messages (especially) and Mail is also noticeably worse compared to the 6S. Hopefully Apple fixes these bugs.

its so bad for apple... i know that security bugs have higher priorities but ALL iphone 7 users complain about the same UI glitch (animations) and apple cant fix it yet. it will take about 5min for an employee to fix this glitch. he can do it in his breakfast break while watching CNN...

After updating to iOS 10.1 Developer Beta 2 I see improvements regarding this animation bug on new devices. Anyone else? :)

Here's a comparison using software only buttons in iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 Plus (I changed the resolution of the screen so they look the same).

It looks like the iPhone 7 Plus is a tad slower, but believe it or not, both animations start at the same exact time.

Oh thx!! I thought only me have an error because of that animation stutter when closing app on my ip7.. So it is software bug??

No, you don't. You get it all the time.

You can't even tap an icon and close it immediately like you could with the 6s. Definitely a 7 issue but it'll be fixed in the next update.

I can tap any app icon on my 7 and press the home button as it's opening to close it and return to the home screen.

Lol. Thats not the point in this thread. We are talking about the lags every iphone 7 has when closing apps

That's a really good comparison! And to be honest, it seems less like a bug now but more like it was done this way intentionally. It literally seems like the animation on the 7 is slow (not lagging, but slow) at first because it's waiting for the next course of action by the user: just a single click to go home or a double click to go to the multi task screen. Due to the home button being digital it might work differently then the mechanical one (they might've set this behaviour up this way system wide for the 7 and therefore even the AssistiveTouch uses that animation too). Let's hope Apple can find a way around this because it's really annoying in real life, but they might just call this a "feature".

Could you maybe add a third animation of you actually double clicking the home button. Maybe it will make it more clear if this actually is intentional.

I had my Home Button Click Speed set to Slow which is why I couldn't close an app right away. I've since changed it back to normal and it's working how it should.

Why do you suppose this "feature" is exclusive to the iPhone 7? Is the 6s really too slow to respond to a button press?

At any rate, I submitted my video to Apple, but they have never fixed any of the bugs I've reported over the last couple of years. Kinda sad how they ignore blatant glitches and just leave them in the OS. It just looks sloppy and unrefined.

I guess my major complaint is how the wallpaper lags behind everything else. That's what's throwing me off the most.

I liked it better when it was one continuous smooth motion with all of the animations ending at the same time.

There is no delay when using Reduce Motion. It's just as responsive as a 6s with Reduce Motion enabled. Clearly a bug.

I think every one should be flooding Apple with these bug reports now. Otherwise they don't seem to be doing anything to fix this

This post proves that you can't trust initial responses on the forums about "fixed" issues. Placebo effect is real.
