Why don't you just go into your order on your Apple account and edit the delivery notifications and billing email addresses etc yourself?

You may even benefit from seeing an updated delivery date (although with an 08:25 order time I doubt it) but at least you'll get emails to the correct address from now on ....

When you get your 'ready for collection' text there's a link to click which brings up a reservation card for you to add to your wallet.

I've got my ready for collection email, got notified from the app, but haven't received any texts.

Odd I should be getting texts from Apple. A text I was expecting with my PAC from Vodafone didn't turn up either.

2 year guarantee still not showing for 128GB and 256GB Plus models on John Lewis website. Hoping they make any appearance at some point.

Is it just me that thinks Apple's logistics leave a lot to be desired compared with how slick their products generally are?

I mean, what is all this 'Dispatched 6-8 business days' nonsense?

Apple is a 7 days a week retail operation, their call centres are open weekends, and I highly doubt someone locks up their bonded warehouse in Hinckley at 5pm on a Friday then opens it up again at 9am on Monday.

My case was 'preparing for dispatch' for over two days; how long does it take to stick a label on a jiffy pack, insert the case, then seal it, say 30 seconds?

Then from dispatched, the case took another 3 days to wend it's way through the Royal Mail system.

My point here is that I can order an item via John Lewis up to 7pm in the evening, at pick it up from a local newsagent 19 hours later, yet Apple seems to take an eon to process even the simplest of orders ....

10 people in the queue at Milton keynes apple store pretty dead here
Is there a separate queue for reservations? My slot is 8.15 at the Trafford Centre and I don't know whether to leave now or hang on.

Looks really nice but I'm always worried in the open bottom cases that it'll scratch etc on the bottom.. does anyone have any experience of this?
My 6+ has a nick by the headphone socket but is otherwise in impeccable condition after two years in apple cases.

Does John Lewis lock the phone?

Also for pick up do they require ID / payment card used?

Thanks!

Nope, they're completely unlocked.
Plus they give you a 2 year warranty which is a nice touch.

To collect, they just ask for proof of purchase (the confirmation email) and the card you paid with.

Did anyone with UK Mail get a departure scan from Ryton? Mine still only has the arrival scan from yesterday morning. ☹️️
[doublepost=1474003613][/doublepost]Spookily now mine has just been scanned in at the delivery depot.

Wow.

I'd agree that the front end screens could be a little slicker for end users, but you've got a ship date & a delivery date & that's all you need. I'd also say Apple stock price and revenues suggest it's going ok for them in general.

John Lewis perhaps have the easier end of the deal receiving finished iPhones on nice clean pallets for onward shipments to their own stores just in UK.

Making 10 million units hurriedly in secrecy on the other side of the world & getting them out to 28 countries simultaneously might be a bit harder.

We have reserved.
I might get up and go then. Supposed to be working from home today so could do with not being there for ages. There's a 24 hour Starbucks opposite the Trafford Centre so will go prepared, and I have my laptop and a mobile broadband unit to work if I need to.

Mine has arrived at my local depot too now. I checked it around 5.30 and it was still showing Ryton.

This link seems to be more up to date

If you put in the tracking number from Apple's website.

I checked it at 5.30 am and it showed it as being at my local depot.

My iPhone still says it is on its way to my delivery depot. It left at 2pm yesterday. Didn't realise it took 16 hours to get from Leicester to Peterborough
