My reservation for collection not til 4.45pm as was supposed to be working today so wonder if it will be sorted by then. If not maybe Apple would like to comp me a case to cover the cost of the balance transfer to my 0% credit card
Might go earlier than slot as doubt with the stock shortages they will be that busy later.

Has anyone been in an Apple store to collect theirs? Did they have any Jet Blacks on display? A, beginning to think I might prefer the gold I have reserved over today than the JB I have on order but not getting for up to 4 weeks.

My daughter lives in the US and she kindly bought me (pre-ordered etc) for delivery on launch day, it was delayed by a few days but we were in the US for her wedding that she had in her house. For this wedding she had a red carpet up to the big front door on her house (everything is bigger in the US :)), and left it there for a few days.

Anyway at 9am on the delivery day (I think it was a Wednesday),the UPS man came up the drive, I ran out and met him on the Red Carpet and said is this for me?! He looked at me weird (Brit accent I thought), and said why the red carpet. I didn't really hear him, but pointed at the parcel in his hand and said "It's an Apple Watch!". He gave me the parcel and then asked if i minded holding the parcel on the red carpet while he took a picture for the depot! He genuinely believed that we had got a red carpet and laid it out for the arrival of the watch!!!!

Been shopping this morning and put all of the purchases on my credit card, on which there is a pending £1 charge for my black iPhone 7 plus 128gb. As the credit card has only 1k limit, this now means there isn't enough funds on it for when Apple actually charges my account :)

Now I'm stuck at work until 8pm and won't be able to ring Apple to change my billing details...Here's one to hoping they charge me on Monday.

First of all don't panic! Apple give you a chance to fix payment details without loosing your place in the queue. Secondly, could you just make a payment to your card from another account? That could be done via Internet banking and no need to stress and call Apple? Anyway, hope you get it fixed :) keep us updated!

The Stratford Apple store had no jet/black iPhone 7 Plus' to even put out on show. They had 1 jet black regular, but only gold/silver/rose Plus' on display.

Hey guys, been looking at this thread for a while.

I just popped onto the selfridges website and it stated it had 1 iphone 7 + gold in stock. Bagged it with delivery tomorrow.. judging by the plus shortages no idea if this will come through though.
 
Just went to Bluewater Apple store to pick my two Black ip7 128 and 256 and its an absolute nightmare, the booking system has crashed and all appointments have gone wrong. this means that there is a huge queue with people waiting up to three hours to be seen for an appointment. If anyone has an appointment to collect or pick up paid or AUP then I suggest you go early. Carnage !!

I couldnt wait so was told could come back Saturday up until 12 when they will continue to reserve the phones.

On the off chance I walked into John Lewis and whilst completely sold out online, I managed to pick up an IP7 matte black in 128 and 256, They still have some more of these in stock some 30 mins ago, and only Plus phone in rose gold.

Oh at the start it rejected my iCloud password and said it couldn't activate it. However once it got passed all of that it updated. Took about 40 minutes. Now it's installing all those apps.

From my experience when I tried to restore a backup that was several years old it failed to see the backup. I gave up and set the phone up as new and when I went to delete the backup it didn't let me, it shows up under my iCloud storage as a backup and it's taking up room but I can't delete it or do anything with it :(

hope you have better luck :p

this was on the 6s Plus, the backup was made on the 4S in iOS 7, at some point I need to contact Apple to try and get that space back

I could, but seen as it's Friday it won't be credited until Monday night/Tuesday morning.

I've sorted it out. Managed to log into my credit card account (John Lewis) and increased my credit limit from 1k to 2.5k.

Crisis averted. Thanks to everyone for chucking ideas at me!
 
I like the new home button. I've got mine set to the highest and it sort of feels like a real click! Also I can't feel the whole phone vibrating as some of the reviews have said.

lolz - how random. I didn't think John Lewis would have any in stores today, I felt bad for the guy I asked in York branch at 0900 as he didn't seem to realise he was going to get asked A LOT today ...

Some hints and tips when restoring.....

1. Download all of your photos to your computer and delete from device, then take the backup (less to restore and photos typically biggest part). If want any photos back on device can always stick them back on later.
2. I also always do an app purge before backing up to delete anything I don't need anymore
3. Take a manual backup to iTunes and ensure it is encrypted. This will retain passwords, health data etc.
4. Restore from above manual backup and then just leave device to download and install all apps
5. Whilst restoring place phone close to router. I always find this helps maintain a faster and more stable connection for the app downloads.

For Apple Watch users - don't forget also that you will need to rest and restore your watch from backup after starting to use new phone!

Not very good service from DPD today. Checked app which told me to expect delivery between 6:00am-10pm today. Still waiting for text with 1 hr window. Parents went round to house to find a card on the door mat saying they delivered parcel to neighbour who I did not choose to use at 12pm today. No notification to say that parcel has been delivered or signed for. Not very happy at all!.
