Anyone had a Apple phone sent off to repair through the store? Any idea how long it took?

Or even sent through courier where they pick it up from your home and send it back?
Hi,
Not a phone but an iMac. It was a bad problem that needed the motherboard replace. It believe it took 7 days from start to finish

Not for JB as far as I know, I could be wrong too.

Ya, mine is the same thing, but I think those date will change to something sooner, I hope anyway, not rushing it.
I'm pretty sure there were screenshots of UPS tracking saying the 19th but that might not have been for JB. It would be funny though, if the JBs arrived before the mattes!

What happens to a returned new iPhone? Say, if I bought a 6s plus tomorrow, used it for 2 weeks until my 7 plus arrives, then send it back to Apple for a full refund. What do they do with the phone? Does it become a reconditioned iPhone or what?

Reason I'm asking as like a lot of people on here I'm a bit pissed off at how this launch has gone. I mean, come on, they KNOW, or can more precisely estimate the demand for their product but this year it seems to be very underestimated. I feel a little let down with Apple, like many on here have had every iPhone on launch except this one and am starting to realise that getting a 6s plus to use before my 7 arrives is a justifiable option. What do you guys think?

Use the website or the app

I can see union square and Princess street Edinburgh both have a 128gb Black for pick up today and hats using the App

Place in basket then I don't know what happens after this, maybe someone can help as I've not progressed far enough

EDIT: Steve, no point searching for pluses, no store has them

Got you now mate thanks a bunch. Might just go for the small version if the plus isn't available.

I can see Meadowhall has all colours of 7 in 128GB for pickup tomorrow from the App as Leebroath mentioned.

If anyones interested!

I reckon these are "no shows" from today that are back for reservation.

No pluses anywhere as of now. But i have a feeling the pluses will start to trickle into stores next week. As many pluses are due to be delivered to online customers so makes sense to assume a huge batch of pluses will be coming in.

Urghh seeing all these posts about Jet black and how nice it is, it is really making me consider not keeping my gold 7 Plus. Don't get me wrong the colour is nice but JB was my first choice but I wanted a 7+ in my second choice colour (gold ) rather than no phone for weeks.

I have not yet had time to set my phone up so it is still sealed in box. As I brought it from the Apple store am I correct in saying that I can open it, use it and return it within 14 days and get a refund and try and secure a JB in the mean time. I just wonder what my chances of being able to source one during the next 2 weeks would be?

Keep your gold 7 plus.. stop being silly!

Personally thats your choice if you want to buy a 6S+ to use whilst waiting for 7.

As for returns, i think they are sent away to a service centre where they are probably tested thoroughly and then used as replacement devices.

Or another theory, they are tested and sold on as refurbs to resellers that buy 14 day returns. Just guessing here.

I predict Tuesday/Wed next before pluses are in for reserving

I mean havn't John Lewis had some pluses? Also i saw earlier Vodafone had some JB pluses. One guy posted his few pages back.

I think the stocks there its just needs flying over to the UK and distributing so Tues/Weds sounds about right.

JB's certainly saw shipping information first... nuts.
You are still processing aren't you taytos? That's rough :( I hope you see movement soon! Hopefully you'll get the shipped notification with the current preparing for shipment batch!

I've been looking at the special iphone flightaware page & it appears ALL iPhones stop at Louisville. There is no connected/direct flights from China->EU (Stansted & Cologne) Its all, China -> Louisville -> Newark, NJ. then onto the EU continent.
If anyone could help me on this? It doesnt help but seems when you order from Apple the tracking starts from when it's been declared into the UK :(

Heres one of them, they come in everyday. But theres 2 others which are on the same route. Guaranteed one of those flights is full of iPhones. (i hope).
Edit - http://uk.flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS208/history/20160916/0105Z/EDDK/KEWR
Better page shows outgoing/incoming to UK & EU and then the US connection I was on about - As I've said if anyone wants to clarify anything go ahead but I think this is pretty much spot onto the logistics of Apple all year round.

I've already stated in that they promised to supply all the colours at the same time which they haven't, hence over promise.

And yes you do try and close down debate through the tone of your posts.

I must have missed that promise from Apple but I take your word for it.

Sorry you don't like my tone, I just say it as I see it , apologies if that offends no harm meant.

Battery on my MacBook Air lasts a whole week. Even back when I was a student it used to do me well for a week. Never have I charged it during the week. I barely use it now because the screen is so small. It's so fast compared the my iMac.

I'm hoping they update the iMac with better hard drives and graphics. Mines due an upgrade as it's a bit slow at the moment...

I hope they do, too. No need for 5,400rpm HDD in such an expensive machine.

Does anyone have 20-22 but still preparing to dispatch? Pushing it mighty fine if it's coming from china! Matte black 7+ for me.
I wouldn't say it's cutting it fine - I reckon if you left China on Monday and didn't get home until Thursday, you'd be pretty p***ed off! Say 15 hours in the air, add 24-48 hours for your parcel changing planes, being processed via a couple of distribution centres etc and even 21st is still doable, especially given the 8 hour time difference?

Back at 6am.
i meant what people were looking at earlier like this
