Iphone 7, Matte black 128gb. est: 20-22

It seems as though a large amount of stock is going to come into today / tonight which will fulfil all the 20-22 pre-orders and also hopefully mean there is some available to reserve in store tomorrow at 6am. But could be later for reserve in store, depending on when the stores get the stock in, in theory stock for the 20-22 pre-orders could arrive tomorrow and still deliver to people on the 22nd easily.

That's what I would have thought too, but some people are saying they have / have been told you can repurchase the phone you are returning straight on iUP.
The guy from Apple on the phone told me that any returned phones go straight into the refurbishment program and aren't available to be repurchased.

It would be nice if he was wrong.

He suggested that I keep checking at 6am and if I can get one for store pickup just cancel my preorder.

Where is the best place to check for this stock please, I'm not sure if my Apple Store app is only checking my closest store for stock?

This is the link: https://reserve-gb.apple.com/GB/en_GB/reserve/iPhone?execution=e1s1

That's for iUP stock, but you can still buy outright in store if you choose to when you get there.

My 7+ JB 128GB isn't due to dispatch till November :( probably my fault for waiting till release day to order as I wanted to see the JB and Black in the flesh before deciding...

Hopefully one appears in the Aberdeen to reserve as not really wanting to wait till November

I don't quite understand how it works with stocks reservation for stores. Three years ago I was chatting to the Apple manager at the retail store in Bath and he ws saying that they never know what stock they are getting until it arrives and they can log the delivery on to the database around midday. He said that this was for security purposes so that the evening before 'undesirables' can't track or anticipate what stock is going to what stores and intercept the stock enroute.

Things may have changed though.

.....my order - FINALLY PREPARING FOR DISPATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely ridiculous. You'll get one in-store before that I'm sure. You shouldn't have to wait until November the whole Plus production / distribution for the UK has been a joke

...also been playing with iOS 10 on my iPhone 6 - very stable and very impressed!!!!

And on another note - screen protectors for the iPhone 7.

A few hundred pages back (....well, not quite a hundred, but you get the idea!!!), there were some questions regarding if the iPhone 6/6S screen protectors would fit on the iPhone 7.

Well, I ordered some iPhone 6 protectors and also some genuine iPhone 7 ones, and they are 99% exactly the same. The ONLY difference is the earpice/speaker hole, on the iPhone 7, is literally 2mm wider than the iPhone 6. iPhone 6 screen protectors will probably fit the 7, but you'll just be missing this extra 2mm length. You'd be hard pressed to even notice the difference if I am completely honest.

I've just looked back at my posts two years ago from the 6 launch - very similar story. I missed the Launch Day delivery slots by a whisker and initially got a two-weeks-out date, which then improved to a week, when then improved again.

On that occasion there was a big bunch of phones (equivalent to the "20-22 batch") that were tracked on flights from China to Castle Donnington over a Friday & some were then delivered on the Saturday - so they absolutely can get them here in 24/36 hours sometimes.

The difference this time is that there's no way of knowing whether this bunch have moved 'behind the scenes' - they could just as easily already be in a UK warehouse now as being about to be scanned out of the factory in China, I find it amazing there's still plenty of time for Apple/UPS & the UK couriers to hit the Tu/Wed/Th window either way. Try not to worry about it!

I'm amongst the Sep 20-22 crowd, hoping it's 21st or 22nd as nobody in till 2pm on 20th. 20th looking increasingly unlikely now anyway it seems.

Payment has been taken.
Couriers typically retry the next day if no one is there on the first delivery attempt.

After 10 years of lurking, I've FINALLY decided to comment on a thread! I'm eligible for some sort of prize, right?

Anyway! Just wanted to say how appalling I've found this iPhone launch.

I ordered an iPhone 7 Plus (black) 128GB at 08.08 and I'm still stuck on "Preparing for dispatch" since early Friday afternoon. I don't believe for one second that Apple's logistic network grinds to a haunt at 5pm Friday and doesn't restart until 8am Monday. Surely the phones will have moved or progressed through the network - so where are the updates?

Why couldn't Apple have held the launch back a week longer to allow stock to build up? They could have said "Look, we're making millions more Plus models so we're gonna launch it a week later so everyone gets a shot at getting one!" Instead they've created this frenzied atmosphere where people are ordering several iPhones from different sources in pure desperation which is, most probably, making the situation a whole lot worse.

I'd imagine the cancelled pre-orders, in-store cancellations, returns, attempted in-store swaps etc etc is making matters worse.

I've so far wasted countless hours browsing these forums looking for a glimmer of hope it would be delivered launch weekend. So far, nothing.

I'm sat here hoping that by some miracle, Apple have been sloppy with their site and my phone is actually out for delivery today with UPS/TNT/DPD/UkMail.

What's the chances of that happening? Slim to none?

Completely agree. The biggest issue is there isn't even a date... just says November :( I bet they have hundreds in a Warehouse somewhere in the UK...

Who knows, but the whole advertisement of the launch date of the 16th was all a bit crap from Apple's part, they could have done it a lot better. It's mental how I couldn't open the website until 8:10, ordered instantly and have to wait until the middle of October.

Careful! Some users don't think it's ok to complain about a mega corp when you've spent nearly £1000.

But you're right. It's been a mess.

Consider yourself lucky that you're on PFD though! After the apple pay error, many of us are still on processing and have been for 11 days now. No money taken out, no movement, apple chat always just say 'we're waiting for your your turn in the queue.'
