What are people doing who have locked in a good price with a recycle place. The longer delivery non launch date will cause me to lose about 80 quid.

I was considering buying a phone that was in stock then returning it once my 7+ arrives.

Would that work? Is it no questions asked returns?

No, you can reserve for instore pick up but you have to go via the upgrade programme link. What's not clear is that on the day whether you can purchase outright or ypu have to join the upgrade programme. I'm in two different parts of the country next Friday so have reservations at two stores, but I want to buy it outright not through the upgrade programme.
I'm in the same boat as you. I don't want to use the upgrade programme, I just want to buy outright but my son is having his 4 month jabs at 9 am next Friday so I can't stay in all day to wait for delivery.

I think so, it's either 14 days or 30 days, I can't remember.

ORDERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool::cool:

I was on the train at 7:52 and was refreshing like mad until about 8:10 - AND THIS WAS ON SAFARI ON MY IPHONE 6!!

Eventually got through at around 8:15, and went through and placed my order:

Initially, it showed the delivery date as 16th September but I think because I've added a case, its pushed it back to 26th -28th Sept, which is fine!

This was funded via the PayPal Credit Agreement 24 month, which equate to £30.92 a month (once interest is added on for the actual Credit facility), which is also fine.

Just to note that it initially would not let me use PayPal Credit as I had selected to "Ship Items separately as they become available" option, I had to then select "Send all Items in one shipment", before the option showed up!

Now all I need to do is order my EE SIM only deal for £20 a month for 8gb of data and unlimited texts and calls, from the EE website.

Can I get onto the website though? NO - all you iPhone pre-orderers, hogging all the bandwidth:

No worries, will just try later on!!!

I'm one Happy Apple Fan Boy and yet another year passes with a successful pre-order on the day preorders go live!!!

Depends who you recycled with. Envirofone give you 14 days to sent it in and if around day 12 they haven't received it they send you a "do you want another 7 days" email.

This is the whole reason I went for silver cos it was delivery next Friday....I've locked mine in for £300 and it's already dropped to £250 if I cancelled so obviously don't want to risk it.....silver will be a nice change I guess.....just glad I got a launch day one so can cash mine in!

You’ve reached your reservation limit.
Please come back beginning at 06:00 on 17 September to make another reservation.

Funny thing is, I haven't been able to make a reservation at all :(

My order, which previously said between Sep 26 and Oct 4, now just says 'Ships 1-2 weeks'. Fingers crossed...

Think I'm either going phone less for a couple of days or just buying a crappy phone and time hopping back to the mid 2000s. Maybe I'll like it there. :)

I don't think it will change. The date it gives is what it's going to be. The "ship" but is when it's going to leave china or something

Pre-orders for the 7 Plus must of sold out very quick! i was on there using the app very quick, but even mine said 2-3 weeks, and delivery date is 4th-10th October! The Plus must be popular as the 7 still has some dates showing earlier delivery. Oh well, at least i got mine before they slipped to NOVEMBER :eek:

Possibly not, but then again I had the same issue when I ordered an Apple Watch and received it about 3 weeks ahead of my expected delivery date. So there's still hope I feel.

Well this is a bit of a joke. Site was down until 8:08 for me. Ended up ordering a matt black instead of jet black due to the extra shipping delay. Ordered a 128GB Plus in Black with 6-8 days delivery.

My friend has just been on the phone to Carphone Warehouse. Ordered an upgrade on 02 at 8:55. He's got a Jet Black 128GB Plus being delivered on launch day. £200 down and £45 a month for 24 months.

Working that out the total cost is £1280. Minus £819 for the phone leaves £461. £461 divided by 24 = £19.20 for his contract. 10GB Data, Unlimited everything else. That actually works out a better deal than me buying the phone cash and my 6GB sim only with EE.

Pretty pissed!

Which network has the best prices this year?

O2 seems reasonable. Vodafone not too bad (I went with Vodafone as they have the best roaming offers). Three are expensive considering their network is slow. EE plans suck.

IMO of-course.

I've joined o2 and will be cancelling Vodafone as they are too expensive this time around.

Although you only get 15GB/month with BT Mobile they only want £59 upfront for the 256GB variant of the 7+. For saying they own EE their prices are cheaper!

Ordered mine through the app.
128GB black iPhone 7. Got a processing email stating delivery will be the 16th however when i check the app/website there is no sign of a delivery/dispatch date next to "we've received your order".

This happening for anyone else?

For some reason third party companies like CPW are pretty much able to get prices than going direct!

That's normal

Carphone warehouse have both black 7+ phones available for delivery on the 16th. Pricing isn't terrible but I don't want to be locked in for 24 months and paying upfront is still quite a bit cheaper.

Nope.

I ordered on the app at 8.05 and all the black versions for plus had 2-3 weeks.

I'm pretty confident you will be able to:
"Make a reservation to buy a new iPhone in-store on Friday 16 September" - that's the actual wording on their website, doesn't say .."only through the upgrade programme" for example.
