What an absolute nightmare trying to secure one of these damned phones lol. Though I have been very lucky to secure roughly what I wanted. I have got a 128GB gold 7+ on reserve from Apple store pick up next Friday, that is of course assuming nothing goes wrong with pre-order.

In addition I have also managed to secure an upgrade on my O2 account for a matt black 256GB 7+. This should be delivered next week but not quite sure.

Could not find a jet black anywhere, I am guessing the reasons for its scarcity is people being able to get onto the store pages quickly before anyone else and Apple must just simply not have huge amounts of stock in this colour.

But still, happy days:)

On my email says delivery 16th of September but when I open the order on the Apple Store it just says "we've received your order" with no delivery date :O Is that normal???

So I was on the Apple Store app at 8am this morning trying to pre order a 32gb normal black 7+
Instantly it shows delivery 4-6 weeks and there was no option at all for pick up in the Apple Store metrocentre,
Is this normal ? Will the dates be pushed forward if I order online,
If I choose to pick up in store on release day without reservation, what's my chances of getting one ?

Feeling pretty annoyed this morning. Was waiting from 07:50 and then refreshing the Upgrade Program URL so I could reserve a 7 Plus 32GB Black. The link didn't even become active for me until 08:30, by which point there was zero stock of the model I wanted in most stores.

Then there are people (a few here) who have reserved at multiple stores, just to be sure they'd get the phone. It's that kind of selfishness that ruins it for other people - not many, granted, but a few.

I wonder when the stores will start to show stock for reservation again. Tempted to just turn up and hope for the best. Anyone else in the same boat? What are you going to do?

I actually forgot and it was about 8:05 when i looked at my phone and remembered.

Orders a matte black 128 7+ via the app and have a 6-8 business day wait time.

Hope it adjusts and comes sooner.

I thought O2 seemed pretty expensive this year to be honest.

They are slightly more expensive of the upfront cost but that'd be due to the increased price for iPhone 7.

I've been worn Vodafone as a friend managed to get me 30% discount on my line rental.

For the same monthly payment (before discount) on o2 I'll now get Visual Voicemail, 3 x more data (30 instead of 10) and can upgrade early next year with o2.

Plus they wanted £189.99 upfront compared to Vodafone's £300+!

Ordered the jet black 7, 128gb through iPad Pro at 08:02. Picking up from metrocentre store next Friday :)
Oddly enough my other devices wouldn't let me do anything until about 08:20

Apple Delivery times whilst accurate, you'll tend to get the phone earlier in the estimated time rather than later. Last year I had 2 weeks waiting time after I pre-ordered but it ended up coming on launch day. Give it a few days for pre-orders to settle and delivery times might still change slightly

Did ANYONE manage to reserve a 128gb black/jet black in store for pickup next week? All stores I checked showed no stock, would it be worth trying again tomorrow morning?

I couldn't do store pickup for the iPhone Plus 256GB in black in London, so that makes me think they're shipping these directly from China...

Fingers crossed on that then! I even got into work early to order this thing!

EE iPhone 7 32GB pricing for comparison:

£60.99/month, £100 upfront = Unl mins & 40GB data.
£65.99/month, £50 upfront = Unl mins & 40GB data.
£70.99/month, £10 upfront = Unl mins & 40GB data.

Whoa, glad I just signed up for the £19.99 sim only (16GB) deal and got the phone outright...

I hope so. Had me and the girlfriend on this morning, couldn't get on the store at all and when we did the upgrade programme link didn't work and when we got to the product page the delivery date for 7+ in Jet Black was October.

Crazy scenes

wow first time ive not been able to get an iPhone during a Preorder. This is mostly due to trying to get on the Apple upgrade Programme. If i had bought it outright i'd have been on the 4-6 days group for the jet black as that was the time that was showing when i logged in.

Wasn't going to settle for Gold/Rose which were the only ones available for store reservation for the 7+ 128gb model. I've saved the reservation link and will have another crack on the 17th when stocks should get replenished.

That was indeed a cracking SIM only deal! :)

Ok bit of advice please guys...

I'm currently with O2 and was gonna rock up into their store today to do the preorder. But today I noticed that O2 are charging ~£100 MORE for the phone than Apple do.

This is not a new thing, I've only just cottoned onto it.

So I took a look at Carphone Warehouse and for the EXACT same phone on the EXACT same monthly tariff, they want £50 LESS up front. So, while they're also charging more than Apple for the handset, it's considerably less than O2. So I'ma move...

Anyone with CPW and can comment on them? For the sake of £50, is it worth the move? Can I keep my number? Do I need to contact O2 and cancel their contract to take the CPW instead?

I think the Jet Black might be the exception this year.. this thread has been typically busy but I think I'e seen anyone secure a 7+ JB (128GB at least) for the 16th?

usually some people who missed the launch day lot and got the 5-7 days that typically comes after, might get pulled forward as orders get cancelled etc
