Apple gods love me. I've been loyal to them. You have no idea how I was massively torn between this and the Samsung s7 edge. I know this is an apple forum with predominantly pro Apple fans, but a lot of what Apple said I dont agree with (such as removing headphone jack to make it water resistant), since Samsung have done the same without needing to remove it. Needless to say, I just couldn't leave Apple since my daily life is surrounding by the iOS ecosystem (watch, laptop, iPad, even my car has Apple car play). Now I am super excited for this phone especially since I already own a pair of really good wireless headphones that have over 20 hours of music battery and actually sound amazing. None of that beats ********.

The Apple gods have always brought me my iPhone's on launch day, although this is the first time they seem to have bottled it by showing a lack of day one availability for some of their models. Hopefully it was just a fail safe on their part and we will get our phones on time. Even if we don't, I feel fortunate as I know there are others here who have to wait until October or worse.
I was also impressed by the S7 Edge. But like you, I am in the ecosystem. Also the 7 Plus looks badass.

What headphones do you have? I'm looking to get some Bluetooth headphones too, though not straight away.

Did anyone get a guaranteed launch day Jet Black Plus?!

Nobody did. If they claim it, they are lying. I already confirmed this will an apple sales rep on the phone. Needed to call them to make a slight change to my address and then posed this question.

The system is rigged!

Haha seriously though, what a joke. The website should have said "Some models available September 16".

You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Astro A38. Yes they are a gaming company, but the A38 are Bluetooth headphones for mobile devices. They are currently discounted to £102. Trust me, the performance and sound are great for that price and they have the best battery life (I have owned the Beats Solo 2 wireless, B&W P5s and even recently B&W P7 wireless).

Puts the airpods to shame. Airpods only have 4 hours of music time. A38 has over 20. I have used them for many months and use them every day now to and from work. They are actually over 20 hours. Can use the controls to change volume and skip tracks like the normal inline remote.

I don't think anyone got a Black or Jetblack plus for launch day delivery. Did they?

I think JetBlack will definitely be the next 'gate'. If they've even warned about scratching, think how bad it's going to be to consumers.

I've preordered a 128gb Jet Black iPhone 7 for delivery on the 16th from Carphone Warehouse on o2.

Strange this is, the earliest in store collection was showing the 17th.
Yeah but it's CPW... they're basing their estimates on expected shipments from Apple. Anything could happen.

That's not really a fair comparison though, is it ;) the A38s, like my silly Sony "XB" cans which have similar battery life, are absolutely gigantic compared to the AirPods.

Not that I would recommend the AirPods...

I had that thought myself. Then countered with...'what if they're trying to preempt Jetblack gate by telling people it will scratch easily when it doesn't'

....reverse psychology. However none of it worked on me. I've gone matte black.

I've ordered a 32GB iPhone 7 Black with Vodafone - launch day delivery. Also pre-ordered the same at Apple for launch day delivery as wasn't sure whether to buy outright and get sim only, or a contract through Vodafone.

Leaning towards the Vodafone contract so will probably cancel the Apple pre-order, unless a family/friend wants the pre-order as the dates have slipped now.

Does changing delivery address cause any delays? In the mad rush I had it delivered to my work place but I may not be here on release date and I don't want to come in just to get my new iPhone!

Mine too!!! Roll on next Friday!
Mines say processing as well but I've got a 27-29th delivery window. I hope it changes!!

When i saw your post i had to check my status. Mines also processing. I'm so excited!!

Three are offering £111 cashback via TopCashBack for the iPhone 7 if anyone is going through them.
Vodafone are also giving £111 cashback via TopCashBack.
EE are giving £93 cashback
CarphoneWarehouse are giving £75 cashback

So, I screwed up. Ordering this morning when I finally got in for a 128GB jet black iP7. I wanted to use the Upgrade Program but only options I seen were for delivery with Paypal finance or pickup in store but then it asked for card details. So, I ordered for collection in store, using the pickup option.

Now I see there was a special link for reserving an iPhone in store for the iPhone upgrade program. Do you think I will be able to collect my order in store and change payment method next Friday?

Me too. I tried doing it via my app constantly refreshing from 7.55am and there was no option other than to buy outright when I eventually got in at about 8.15. So mad at myself........ That said I think I would have still been out of luck given the model I wanted (Jet Black plus 256gb)

I feel like am now in the position if I wait to purchase the Jet Black via the upgrade programme that next year I wont be able to upgrade next year until Christmas!! I was planning on using the money I sell my 6s to envirofone to pay for the 11 months of the upgrade programme - so I was effectively upgrading at no extra cost to me. If I don't send in next 12 days (+7) then I will lose a lot of value

I have reserved a 7+ gold 256gb for instore pick up on the 16th but I really don't want a white bezel....I want Jet Black shininess. I went for one of the last reservations of the day in the hope that someone else might have reserved the phone I want and not pick it up (and, wishful thinking, they might let me swap). It would match my gold 12" rMB and gold Studio Wireless Beats though so maybe I should just get it and see if I like it.

I have also just stupidly upgraded on EE for a 128gb jet black plus as currently on a rolling sim only deal having bought my last 2 iphones outright. That would be a mistake i think as £65 a month for 2 years!! That's gonna get cancelled me thinks.

I guess I will wait and see what 17 Sept at 6am brings!! At least I'll get to the right screen but i think the likelihood of of getting a jet black 7+ then is tiny.

Sorry for long thread but am thinking of my plan here.............

1. Collect Gold 7 plus on 16th
2. try to get a Jet Black reservation on 17th
3. If no joy on black try living with the Gold during 14 day returns period
4. Send 6s to Envirofone on 22nd ish September and use hubbie's old 5c til I can get a Jet Black 7 Plus :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Another person who's date is the actual release date. If you didn't read my post above, I have a delivery window of 27-29, does this mean mine might change? (If people have cancelled etc, it might bump me up!)

As previously mentioned I wasn't going to order the new iPhone but I did try to get onto the app and see the delivery dates. Didn't do my usual mac, ipad and iphone constant refresh thing but I got on at 8:04 quickly looked at the iPhone 7 Plus Black and it had already gone to 6-8? working days. The Jet black was already at 2-3 weeks I think.

You can look at this a few different ways. The demand for the new phones is higher than what Apple expected, Apple weren't prepared for the release date, or Apple are saying they have less stock then they actually do to make it look more popular and more of a success to the public.

My opinion is the latter of the three. Hope people that are expecting delivery dates after launch get there dates moved to the launch day.

Depends on your perspective. Size wise, yes I agree. However I would also argue then that Apple has finally taken the leap into wireless audio technology and you'd expect they would take the leap only when they have come up with something quite remarkable. 4 hour battery life for music is terrible, even though they are much smaller. However, from my perspective, I am comparing price points too. £169 is a lot of money and for that, I genuinely don't think there is space for the airpods in the market.

Let's be honest, we'd all be laughing if a third party vendor released the airpods with those specs and features at that price. They would end up at a discount shelf very quickly. I know Brexit tax doesn't help, but even 169$ is a lot.

Nonetheless, don't want to digress too much from the original thread discussion :) I'm not a hater of any sorts, but I do think that the airpods are not the solution to the wireless problem.
