That's not really a fair comparison though, is it ;) the A38s, like my silly Sony "XB" cans which have similar battery life, are absolutely gigantic compared to the AirPods.

Not that I would recommend the AirPods...
mentioned earlier but I've had the Jaybird X2 earphones for a year now and they are excellent! long battery life, great sound quality and they'll remain in your ear!

Another person who's date is the actual release date. If you didn't read my post above, I have a delivery window of 27-29, does this mean mine might change? (If people have cancelled etc, it might bump me up!)
Hey! My delivery date is also the 27th-29th but mine's been moved to processing. Hasn't yours??

I ordered a case with mine. The default delivery option is to ship each item separately as soon as it becomes available. So neither item will delay the other.

The apple cases are due for delivery before the iPhone anyway.

That's exactly what happened with my order however, because I opted to fund the phone with PayPal Credit, I had to choose the "Send all items in one shipment" option + the fact I also ordered a case, probably the reason that my whole order is shipping between 26th - 28th Sept!

YAYAYAYAYA its processing!

DAYAM - why is your order showing £1, 638??? Surely thats not the price of your iPhone is it (or is it?)?!

On another note, just received this email from Apple:

Well, I was refreshing the app from 07:55 until it came online and got the iPhone Plus in black 256GB for dispatch in 6-8 business days (delivery 26-29 September). They obviously never had inventory for these in the UK. Rather annoying though as I'm on holiday 17 September and wanted delivery before I went....

Same here. I'm just telling myself it'll be something nice to come back to....

Doubt anyone cancelling will change this window as that's the one I have

Yeah, at least that'll cheer me up I guess! lol

Pre orders started at 9am here today. Couldn't bother with the web crashing or the phone ques of my carrier so I walked in to one of their stores at 10 when they opened, I was the only one there.
No idea when it will be coming though, it comes when it comes.

Hey guys,

I couldn't get the Apple upgrade link working at 8am and missed out. What can I do now as there doesn't seem to be a pre order option for the Apple upgrade? All I can do is pre order a phone outright? Can't even set it for in store collection...

I ordered a 7+ 32GB MATTE BLACK at 8:03 when I eventually got the app to load

Got the dates of 27-29th Sep

Just got an email from Very.co.uk that said Pre-Order iPhone 7 now !

I ordered the same phone with them on 12months BUY NOW PAY LATER interest free , delivery date 16/09 :D:D:D:D

Will cancel the Apple order in a few days

O2 are useless, went to their MetroCentre store and they said they only doing preorders on the 7 and not the 7+ and said can't do online orders, so have come home and preordered the 7+ 128GB ONLINE as an upgrade on my contract, up to 6 week wait though hopefully will be sooner

Oh yes. Mine's processing.

That's what I was wondering. If some people's are processing but are getting it Friday, does that mean there's a chance we'll get ours Friday as well?

Your date is your date - all orders move through the process (explained on the order status webpage) from Received to Processing etc etc.

From experience & what I've read the dates are generally pretty accurate, though my 6 delivery estimate did get earlier & earlier. The two sides to the equation are supply and demand - if demand reduces (eg: people above you in the queue cancel) then your order could potentially arrive earlier.

If your delivery date is 27-29 September like mine then I very much doubt you'll see it on the 16th, but you could get an improvement, just don't get your hopes up. By Christmas you'll have forgotten which day it came anyway ... ;)

Depends on your perspective. Size wise, yes I agree. However I would also argue then that Apple has finally taken the leap into wireless audio technology and you'd expect they would take the leap only when they have come up with something quite remarkable. 4 hour battery life for music is terrible, even though they are much smaller. However, from my perspective, I am comparing price points too. £169 is a lot of money and for that, I genuinely don't think there is space for the airpods in the market.

Let's be honest, we'd all be laughing if a third party vendor released the airpods with those specs and features at that price. They would end up at a discount shelf very quickly. I know Brexit tax doesn't help, but even 169$ is a lot.

Nonetheless, don't want to digress too much from the original thread discussion :) I'm not a hater of any sorts, but I do think that the airpods are not the solution to the wireless problem.

Oh, I couldn't agree more :) the AirPods are absolutely not going to (a) sell or (b) represent good value. There are plenty of Bluetooth devices out there (another poster mentioned Jaybirds) which are more practical in terms of both design and battery, and a lot cheaper to boot.

They are rubbish. I remember last year on launch day I stopped by the O2 store as I had some time to kill before my reservation window. I asked them if they had the 6S plus in stock in 128GB and they said yes we have lots. I went to sit down as I was thinking of just upgrading and not purchasing sim free. After a few minutes they came back and said actually we only have the 6S and won't be getting any stock anywhere for a couple of weeks. I then went to buy my reserved iPhone at the Apple store. I avoided them this year as I know they won't have it ready on launch day and their tariffs would be sky high.

Ordered black iPhone 7 128 GB at about 9 AM.

The delivery date said 26/27 but the pick up date said 16 so there'll be a trip to the Apple Store involved.
