I just spent a while speaking to a senior adviser. They are aware of the problem and the engineering team is currently trying to determine whether it is software or hardware related. They offered to replace my phone but said the replacement may experience the same issue until they determine the root cause, so it sounds like the best bet for now is to hang tight. They said it'd be 3-4 days before I'd hear back so I'll post an update when I know more.

Thanks for the update. Yeah, I just got mine replaced today and it has the same issue. So maybe waiting it out is the best thing. Please do let us know what they say in a few days. Appreciate your help.

I've got the hissing too, 7+ 128gb MB. Wouldn't have noticed it if it wasn't for this article, guess I'll hold off for a swap.

Do you notice it just in general or specifically when recording videos?

You guys running to the Apple Store to have your phone replaced for hissing even though pretty much every 7 does it

How about you wait a week or two for Apple to address the issue and release a statement.

Just got my iPhone 7 plus and I was one of the unlucky ones also. I can confirm the static sound in videos. It only does it when there's absolute silence. Going to apple this afternoon

Every iphone has static when recording. At leats 7 and 6s and 6. Why is this an issue

If you hear the hiss with it then yes that is an issue

Thats what I meant..... And yes I of course did compare the recording to recording with my 6 plus. I wouldlnt be mentioning it if it was an non issue...

When not recording I cant really hear or appreciate any hiss. If i REALLY push the phone to my ear maybe, but nothing that would affect my experience using the phone or no reason to request a change or new phone.

The main issue for me is really the Hissing or high pitched noise when recording any video with the phone.

Ive noticed in Low power mode the hiss no matter how faint is completely gone. Anyone else get the same

Thats not "hissing". that is in fact, apple's A10 CPU achieving micro-sonic booms

its just small enough that it sounds like hissing.

If apple won't provide any kinda of support for this matter within a week i have to return my 7 plus. Also i am having a issue with bluetooth car audio as well. These must be fixed very shortly.

No fix has been released, why are you going to the Apple Store?
To see if maybe a replacement won't have the issue. Not all are making that Noise while recording so he/she may get one that is not defective.
[doublepost=1474402459][/doublepost]Mine has the same hiss as well. I got mine today. ATT 128g plus mate black. I can also confirm that I hear the hissing in videos. Other than that, I don't hear anything unless I stick my ear to the back of the phone.

I don't think this hissing issue is fixable by firmware though...

The weird thing is that that hissing in videos isnt there or isnt as prominent when recording a video with instagram or something like that. Only the native camera app. Thats one thing that makes me hopeful that maybe its just a software issue.

if you listen to the back of the phone you can hear the static sound which gets louder or spikes when you swipe the screen or do something. I dont hear it when screen is off. Maybe relates to the GPU?

I tried the low power mode and it still made the same sound of videos

Yup, mine does the same thing. Its really mainly only when you are recording a video. I dont get it any other time thats really noticeable.

If I record a video on iPhone 6S or iPhone 5S I get (more or less) the same noise.

I even get the same noise when recording a video on my iPad Pro 9,7. Of course you have to turn up the volume quite a bit to hear it.

Isn't it just static mic noise?

I recorded the same video on my Ipad Air 2 and no such noise. I posted links up earlier in the thread for both videos to compare.

Well, it just seems strange that this is a hardware issue on the iPhone 7, when a lot of people (including myself) get the noise on older models of the iPhone and on the iPad as well. The only thing that makes sense to me is, that this could be an iOS10 bug as all of the devices that I have testet it on are running iOS 10. I mean, I seems unrealistic that all my devices have a hardware issue? :)
