great... i heard it on the 7+ black 128gb while downloading a large app from the app store. guess i'll wait a few weeks and then make an appointment at the apple store 100 miles away.

Can confirm, happens with my 7+ 128GB AT&T. Can hear it on videos I record and when using the phone. So far my wife's phone (7+ 128GB AT&T) doesn't make the hiss.

What did you do regarding this? I also noticed when I record video the hissing is noticeably present. Tried the recording with my Ipad and its silent.

Yep, taking a video with this creates massive static in background. Epic fail here.

Did you decide to return the phone? Its certainly very noticable on recording video.... damn

The noise is there on my 7+ 128 RG but not on my son's 7 32 MB. I went on Apple Chat and they wanted me to back up and restore from iTunes, to rule out backup issues! Made an appointment with my local store instead.

Post the video... mine (T-mo 7 128GB) makes the noise from the back, but is not audible to the other party on a call or when recording a video.

My buddy bought two 7 128gb... one of them under heavy load has no noise at all, while other one has that sounds :(

He will just wait 2 weeks, and then replace it until he gets a good one...

You pay around 800$ for a piece of device that makes noise ? come on... doesn't  test them under heavy loads?

Agree, am going to wait a few weeks after initial batch. Maybe there's a firmware fix. But it's an obvious issue for some devices. Maybe it's limited to 128GB 7 Pluses. I need to test taking video in a place w/o any ambient noise. My office doesnt work with all the monitors and PCs around me.

Well, what did we expect really?

That's exactly the kind of product quality you should expect and that you get, when you squeeze your suppliers too much. . .

on one side u have Samsung with their exploding phones.
On the other u have Apple and this happening..

You kinda have to think if all legit.. as a "well Samsung had batteries which exploded, so we should play them at that"

Probably not deliberate, but well.. u can' t help feeling a bit guilty knowing these things all flow "together"in one short period. Perhaps there is just a gremlin that wants to be let out...

It seems most of the phones having this issue are the plus models. Mine is arriving tomorrow. iPhone 7 Plus 128g AT&T. Keeping fingers crossed this doesn't happen to me or I'll be going to Apple Store to exchange it..

Yeah whats tough about exchanges right now is that there is no stock. So doesnt help the situation.

If the phone is going to be put into a high quality case, I'm not sure if you would be able to hear it. But..if the sound is audible in videos, that may be a problem.
