Plus OLED/mLED production wasn't ready this year. Actually, it could be possible that Apple wants to use mLED and that may be the reason for a delayed redesign. It looks like everything is aligning for a stellar 2017. Huge anniversary, spectacular new HQ, new display tech ready for iPhone production plus of course a new sexy design. Also add a new redesigned MBP line that replaces the MBA.They're saving their big guns for next year.
Think about it...
- Huge anniversary.
- Brand new Apple headquarters for a huge brand new launch.
- Completely new design of the iPhone (8).
I still, to this day, believe Apple leak out information at launch day approaches to kill any unrealistic expectations about a product.
I've seen it happen many times now over the years, and it's just all too much to be a coincidence.
Yes. For $25.Will the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter be released the same day?

sigh, September 2017 is so far away. Maybe I will check out the next Galaxy Note 7 in the meantime. I need a new toy and the next iPhone certainly aint it![]()
The fact that Apple appear to be once again abandoning the 4" size and losing the headphone jack leads me to think that this iPhone will see the same downward trend in sales that we saw with the iPhone 6s.
Wish it were not so.
I agree that would be nice. But I'm pretty sure the best camera is not going to be available on the smallest phone as long as the small phone serves as a budget or cheaper entry to iOS. Now I would support Apple making a true flagship small phone and just sell it at a high price. But I think the SE where the phone's specs are good but not the best is what we will get. It is kind of like the iMac where you can't get a great GPU in the 21" version (I think you now can't get any dedicated GPU in the smaller version). You have to buy the 27" version and then max it out.
What I never understood was how Jobs was happy with the NeXT OS. Unix and its clucky motif environment wasn't exactly Macintosh.
I came from android and my ex has a Samsung note 5, beautiful phone but it does what all android phones do. They go on the fritz a you need to restart to fix it. They are malware magnets and good luck being able to update them to the next version of android as you are abandoned as a customer immediately after purchasing it.The android OS doesn't suck at all either btw

I've never had any virus or anything on my android devices and yeah updates can be an issue. Not a huge issue for me with how quickly in update my devices.I came from android and my ex has a Samsung note 5, beautiful phone but it does what all android phones do. The android phones have gotten nicer, especially the Samsung flagships, and their UI has gotten nicer too. Google has great engineers and their software as second to none. The problem has always been the disconnect with the gadget makers. That's why even the Nexus phone are inferior to an iPhone.
Unless or until Apple really drops the ball, there is no way I would ever go back to Android. Especially when the best of Google makes its way to the iPhone and even works better on the iPhone.

They'll release the Mac Pro on September 32.I heard they were releasing new Retina MBP's and Mac Pros that week too!
Naa... i'm just kidding. Nobody at that company is working on computer hardware anymore.

For most people's needs, it sucks, unless you count "the ability to run on a wide variety of hardware" as a need. That's the big reason it's popular. The android OS doesn't suck at all either btw

If it's anything like their HDMI cables, it'll be less reliable than the ones I buy from Chinese eBay sellers for $1 each.I'd bet a dollar that Monster Cable will launch a gold-plated-connector Lightning Dongle.
For $100.

Please. The difference from a 4S to a 6 Plus is substantial. I checked my old pictures of my kids taken on a 4S and compared them to last year on my 6 Plus and the 6 Plus is obviously better. I'm quite confused how you could say there was "little improvement". And the video is waaaay better.

Once i get the macbook pro with kabylake next year, there is no ipad or iphone for me, the price will decide, if i buy a iphone and ipad, once i get the macbook pro 15inches!
Well-known mobile phone leaker Evan Blass has this morning predicted which week of September that Apple will announce the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
![]()
Blass, who has accurately leaked images and details about unreleased smartphones on Twitter (@evleaks) in the past, tweeted today simply "iPhone 2016 release: week of September 12th."
Blass is better known for leaking Android-based smartphone details ahead of their official confirmation, but his prediction for the iPhone 7's launch falls in line with Apple's typical September iPhone announcements - the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus launched on September 9th, 2015 - making it a pretty safe bet.
Blass's prediction follows a tweet by the blogger four days earlier in which he claimed the internal codenames for Apple's upcoming iPhones are "Sonora" and "Dos Palos", without specifying which is which (although the latter is a small city in California; the former is a Mexican state). Apple's codenames for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were "N71" and "N66", respectively.
This year's iterations of Apple's flagship smartphones are widely expected not to feature major design changes aside from the removal of the headphone jack, as the company is said to be deviating from its standard tick-tock upgrade cycle in order to introduce major new features in next year's 10th anniversary "iPhone 8" which take time to develop.
This year the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 is expected to get an improved camera and optical image stabilization, while the larger 5.5-inch model is thought to be gaining a dual-lens camera and 3GB of RAM.
Other rumored features of this year's iPhones include a faster TSMC-made Apple A10 processor, repositioned antenna bands, faster LTE and Wi-Fi, a slightly larger battery, and a minimum 32GB of base storage. A larger 256GB model may also be available.

Understood. But was it necessary to make your post 28 bolded font?

Their is no confirmation on the Apple Watch 2 for the September Key Note. As a matter of opinion, the leaks/rumors have been minimal and with Watch OS3, the Apple Watch is considered to be a whole new Watch per say. I would like to see a Watch release as well, but I don't believe it's likely.
A long time ago people held onto their consumer electronics for much longer than they do now. In some cases these devices lasted multiple human lifetimes.Sales are trending downwards across consumer electronics in general and mobile phones in particular because of market saturation, lack of *truly* compelling new innovation, and rising consumer sentiment in holding on to products longer. It's the latter that I find the most interesting -- a waning interest in the constant upgrade madness.
