NO HEADPHONE JACK?!? Are you kidding me? This is the death of Apple. I will now switch to Samsung. Blah blah blah...
when they finally release it will be already outdated, they really need to stop the leaks...
And if they don't ? This is one major advantage thier phones will have over the Apple flagship , Apple is doing it out of greed, so the over flagship can now ship the 3.5mm as a feature over the iPhone .
Who are you to tell what other people's needs are?
It doesn't suck at all. In fact Android is what a smartphone should be. Make things exactly how the hell you want it to be. Not be told you can have this but can't do that. Or we will take this away from you because WE THINK you don't need it.
The abilty to download apps that you can't with apple is a huge bonus. Could save most people £50 a month on sports channels alone. Just like if you wanted to download a whole series of a TV show it would cost you over £100 but on android? it's available for free.
Android has easy access to quick view
Widgets for easy access and now with how you can transfer files over, apps, your details and also your photos syncing from one device to another what it provides in that area is no different to the apple way of working. Only thing you miss on android is imessage. That’s really it. The software is a lot better than it was and is getting better and better each passing year.
To say being on android sucks is laughable. All the things you can do on an iphone you can do on any android. You certainly don’t need to worry about the headphone jack either.
It's about the DAC. iPhones have always had very good dacs, now apple get to save money on the dac, put in generic cheapest option possible to run the speakers, and charge for moving the dac into an adapter. It's a very good profit move, you are paying more cause they moved the good quality dac from the 6S into an adapter they will charge you for, while keeping the price of the phone the same....profit.
Well that's my theory
The rest of the upgrades will be welcome
That's because most guys want a super hot chick and dont care if she works, makes dinner, cleans, brings home money, or if she hangs out with you. She could be the biggest jerk in the world but we will deal with it if she is hot. Just like the iPhone. We just want it to look good.

Only guys who are virgins or sexually inexperienced (and think they can't do better or won't find another like her) want the super hot chick that can't do a damn thing other than look good. Looking hot can't make up for living with the rest of her faults - that gets tiring really fast. Once you've dated someone like this you'll realize it's not nearly all it's cracked up to be. These are the type of woman you want to meet when you're on holidays in the Caribbean and want someone to hook up with for a few days. They're NOT someone you'd want to live with for any period of time. In short, they're great at parties, useless as marriage material.

As people have mentioned, Apple still needs a DAC for the speakers in the phone. And it looks like they're going to replace the headphone jack with another speaker (stereo speakers). So they're not saving any money - just swapping one component out for another.
As to the speakers, some have complained stereo is useless when they are so close together. You're completely missing the point. An extra speaker means when your finger/hand is accidentally covering the one speaker your sound level doesn't drop (this happens to me all the time as the way I hold my iPhone my pinky finger blocks the speaker port). It also means extra volume when using speakerphone.
Here's some pics showing what I mean...

I doubt that, considering they need to keep a DAC within the iPhone, there will be a way for Apple to save money now using a cheaper one as it is "only" for the built-in speakers.
If Apple is doing it out of greed, why did Lenovo? :|
That's what I mentioned in the post, they will save money on a quality DAC and put in place the cheapest possible one to run the speakers. Traditionally iPhone have had very good dacs and the music quality out of the 3.5mm was top notch
[doublepost=1469373462][/doublepost]
Why not ? Prices increase based on quality of DAC, you don't need a quality DAC to run speakers that size.

Lenovo make phones ? Good to know , though I would not be using them as a benchmark
That is simply not true at all"All the things you can do on an iPhone you can do on any android..."
That statement is valid only if you think being able to get Facebook, Twitter and Instagram somehow makes the platforms equivalent. Step outside common Apps to try and do anything else, and Android quickly falls behind iOS. App quality and availability is superior on iOS (especially on tablets, where Android is still horrid - even to the point that Google removed their "optimized for tablet section", which was barren).
Here's one for you (used by millions). Music production. Android is completely useless for this, and barely matches what iOS users could do back in iOS 4 from 2009. You shouldn't make absolute statements about what Android can do, especially since it's inferior to iOS in so many areas (the ones that count).
Android is like that Honda Civic you see going down the street with a huge-ass wing on the back, an Anime themed body kit, fart can exhaust, lowering springs and decals galore. Sure it's fully "customized", but it's still just a Honda Civic and isn't any faster than a stock one.
Leak: Information to be currently known.
Prediction: Information to be future forecasted.
Ten words. Assignment completed.
Yeahwill compare with your more fugly protruding camera and horrible looking antenna lines phone(worst design in the iPhone history)

Lenovo owns the Moto trademark after buying Motorola. And there are rumors of Samsung removing the headphone jack from their S8. Seriously, the headphone jack is not likely going to be on flagships in five years. Intel is even pushing for them to be removed. I guess they're greedy as well.

32gb of ram? Wow, that should be headline news!!!I still, to this day, believe Apple leak out information at launch day approaches to kill any unrealistic expectations about a product.
I've seen it happen many times now over the years, and it's just all too much to be a coincidence.
Honestly I also do fully understand why it would make good business sense to officially leak things.
Think about it for a moment. If you are going to get up on stage, in front of the worlds press, and show off your latest and greatest product. The very last thing you are a company, or person on stage would ever want is for everyone in the room to be disappointed, as one or two unrealistic expectations become so strong that, almost everyone there was expecting "A" and you could only deliver "B"
Sure, silly things, like colours not showing up, or perhaps RAM not being increased would not be a worry, but anything major that's all in the media about it's coming NOW, you would not wish to disappoint on.
So, the most obvious thing is, and this is what happens almost every year.
There ARE some great expectations about a product, and they grow and change over the year, a few BIG ones stick, and stay there till we start getting close to launch day.
Then just a few weeks away, some rumour sites/posts start to kill things off, and we end up pretty much expecting what ends up being shown.
As I say, it makes sense. If anything you want to show MORE than is being expected.
It will interesting to watch over the next few weeks if any of the current expectations mysteriously get killed off prior to launch day.
What do we have so far?
Colours Blue/Black (not that important to worry about killing rumours)
RAM starting at 32GB ? 32/64/128 ?
Dual Camera's (been talked about for almost the whole years now)
Headphone Jack vanishing, everyone is expecting it.
A speaker on the top for stereo in landscape?
Antenna Bands?
That is simply not true at all
Most apps there are hardly any difference. IOS does have more apps but that doesn't mean they are any better. There is basically no difference in all the apps on my iphone as there is to my S7 edge.
Music? google music is just fine with the choice being fine. That said I'm using apple music for the trial period and have got apple music on my S7 edge so I don't lose anything when it comes to music either.
android tablets? yeah it's lacking and they don't care as much as apple do about their ipad line. Android tablets aren't very good for apps at all you're right but generally? it fills a need for when I had one. Certainly for watching films, live sport e.t.c. Where it's certainly better as you don't need to pay the stupid itunes payments of crazy money to watch a box set series. Which costs like £100 when using an android tablet is free.
Apple has things better than android but android does some better than apple. Choice is always good which Is why I'm glad I have both. So the things that are important like live sport, tv shows, films, on screen widgets, make the phone how you want it I use my edge. Everything else I love what my apple products do.
That's doesn't make sense, no one ever disagrees that Android does more due to its open nature. The usual argument is that what ios does, it does it great.I'm going to say it again. I still can not believe the number of people that buy the iPhone for the way it looks. I buy it for what it does. I suggest to those that are into the looks of a phone switch to Android. The OS sucks, but you will have lots of different phones to choose from to make your life better.
