You are on a tech forum full of tech geeks and early adopters and you are complaining about people behaving like tech geeks and early adopters? Why don't you piss under someone else's tree, this is not a place for you. Go!

Yes, he/she/it is so superior to us, worrying about Syrian kids like that.

Anyone preorder from Target? I just put my info in and they have me a confirmation # don't know if I will get it next Friday. If not I will be away for vacation, just wondering if they will charge my card even though I didn't put any payment information in?

Think the demand is definitely being offset by lesser amounts, and supply constraints, I'm not getting one but I may get an SE

This is so stupid - i don't understand what the logic is of buying a one-time FULL PAYMENT PHONE requires eligibility process.

WTF APPLE!!!???

SERIOUSLY!!! WHAT THE GOD D*** F****!!!!!
youre buying it wrong. no problem here.

Disappointed. Tried ordering right when it opened, but unfortunately space black fornin store pickup for the plus was not available despite me being among the first to try
If you have the Apple upgrade plan you can only upgrade in store so I can't even have it shipped knowing it will be there within a certain time frame

Will have to try in store

Wish there was a waiting list for store preorders so that even if sold out day 1 you can be contacted upon subsequent shipments

I agree 100%. The people on the Apple Upgrade program who have to show up to the store to turn in their phones got screwed Big. I am in the same boat. All we can do is to check the store availability (joke). I also wish there was a waiting list available for us.....if I have to wait to November to upgrade and get IPhone 7 plus in jet black it would not be worth it for me. That's 3 additional payments under the lease. At that point it makes sense to just keep the phone for the entire 24 mos. term. Thanks Apple for screwing customers on the Apple Upgrade Program.

I upgraded just for the Camera and Extra storage and I haven't purchased an iPhone since the 4s. My 4s got cracked and insurance replaced it with the 5s - which I didn't want and then last yr my 5S got cracked and insurance gave me a 6S. I' got the contract, but I'll probably buy it out right early next yr. I really did like not paying the $40 - $50 every month for cell phone service that rarely works when I need it to.

I think this will be my last pre-order attempt on launch day. It's not worth the lost sleep. They can't get the store online on time, and they seem to produce limited amounts of the versions they know damn well that people will want. I hate being cynical, but this kind of thing happens every year.

I'll monitor the website that shows iphone inventory in local stores once it launches next week and get one that way.

so your conspiracy theory is -- rather than actually sell you an actual iphone for actual profit (the thing that corps breathe) apple is sneakily not selling you one, so they can...not make profit. is that what youre saying? do you ever listen to yourself before typing?

hair-brained nonsense. these things dont grow on trees and you can only get so many asian workers to work so many shifts to make so many millions of units before launch day.

You imply that Apple is too greedy and stupid to actually want to take people's money today, instead, building up a false narrative of shortages and constraints with an eye to actively delaying sales. The truth is that there are in fact shortages and constraints, hence demand exceeds supply, especially for the Jet Black models. This has happened every frickin year, and Apple's part of that "hype" is that they give you a two hour release of new products. The rest is media and individuals, and this year, the media meme was that few were interested in the iPhone 7, because bland or something, and most tech savvy individuals went along with that.

Evidently, consumers disagree with the pundits, and I'd argue they are preordering in massive numbers, as always. Apple will not be publishing figures, so you'll have to rely on 3rd parties to figure out sales.

Here's a metric regarding "hype"

Thank you!!! Creating "false supply constraints" would be so stupid. They would be losing out on tons of money, and making some of their most loyal customers angry at the same time. If there are supply constraints then they are real. I mean seriously... we heard about the constraints on the 7 plus, A WEEK AGO! :/

First of all we should behave as people don't you think? and being a geek is not an excuse to be an ******* or a jerk either.

LOL did you create a new account just to say that? In what shape or form are people complaining about not being able to get the phone right away being jerks or *******? The only jerks are people that post stuff like this on the release day of an iPhone on a Apple forum site.

Apple boasts about how they do everything for the customer... But it's just smoke and mirrors marketing. Such a shame.

I agree 100%. All Apple Program folks can do is to keep checking store availability (Joke). We can't even preorder online with a later delivery dates.

um, no. That's called false advertising buddy.
Well not if they have other iphones available at launch. They alienated the 32gb models from jet black for manufacturing purposes in fact i haven't seen anyone going public with a Jet Black preorder before the 30th of september

So, The iPhone Upgrade Program is BS. I bought my iPhone last year with that program because it sounded like a good idea and it came with AppleCare. To my surprise it did a hard check on my Credit. Then Apple tells me its going to do a Hard check each year I upgrade...

This year I go to use it, Pick out my iPhone 7 Plus Jet Back 256GB Verizon, and as soon as the site went live minutes after midnight it tells me they are sold out in every US state. All of them... I do this every year and that is not possible unless they only had 100 for sale, they didn't list any of them in that size and color or they were not being offered to iPhone Upgrade members or at all for the initial release.

At this point the site tells me to come back on the 17th at 8am. No future dates, no waiting for the next batch shipments, just SOL. I do the Apple Chat and after waiting for 40 minutes I get someone who tells me that if I was just signing up for the program for the first time I could have had it shipped, but because I'm already in it and they have no procedure for returning a phone back to them other than that the reservation system, I'm out of luck.

I'm out. Ill sell my current phone, go with Verizon's upgrade plan that doesn't to Hard credit check, and wait to what is now a ship date of October 12th. Thanks Apple, great way to f over a long time supporter because you didn't plan out your program well enough and making such low inventory because you want to have good numbers, your the best....
hmm so where does the Upgrade Program specify you get yours first or launch-day delivery? it doesnt. your expectations arent matching the world we live in.

i'm no longer doing apple's upgrade program. i'm going back to my old way of selling to gazell and buying outright the new phone. i loged into apples site right away and everything black for t-mobile was sold out. i ended up ordering a black one from verizon on the upgrade site. i think it will work for t-mobile (visa versa isn't true). i'll find out next week friday. what a mess - bottom line no more contracts of any kind.

Same here. First time having a bad experience pre-ordering because Verizon kept rejecting my correct password sent by the Apple Store. Now the Jet black has slipped to November and I don't know what whether to go to the Apple Store on the 16th or just preorder and wait.

Same here, tried to order through the website and the app at 08:01 for the UK upgrade - got redirected to the US site and then when I finally did get in the only options were gold and rose gold for the Plus. Incidentally my wife got in through the app at 08:10 because she was on 4G, she also could only see the rose and gold options.

Well, it works. I did it last year with the rose gold for my wife and she ended up with a phone before some of the pre-order folks even got there shipped. Patience people.

Apple eff'd this one up yet again.... server issues, stock depleation almost immediately. Super shady. Funny how ATT and TMO are the same model, yet I can buy a full price ATT model yet I can't buy a TMO "unlocked" model full price. Super super shady. I'm os tired of this game with apple. How is it that on a launch day Samsung can sell 10x the number of Units as apple without stock issues, without ordering issues, yet Apple can't seem to handle 1/10th of the volume.

It's not that people have a run on Apple, as they hold 10% marketshare. It's that Apple just can't manage their own business.

I'm literally over AAPL

I remember reading somewhere that manufacturing had just started in August. That might explain the extremely low volume available on launch day. Even some of the cool features of the 7 won't be available until a future iOS update. Sounds half-baked.

I'm guessing there were some very bad logistics and someone, somewhere (Tim) had to give the "go-ahead" or not for launch day 09/09/16 and this is what we get.

I woke up at 1:30AM Pacific time, and instead of going back to sleep, check what was going on. Apple had lengthy delays on almost all models. AT&T wasn't much better. Went to Bestbuy.com, and tried to buy a 256GB Plus in Black, but accidentally chose Jet Black. It said it was available for in store pickup on 09/16. I went back a few minutes later and then pickup and shipping said "unavailable".

In the end, I picked up a 256GB Plus in Black for pickup 09/16 at our local BB. We'll see if it actually happens.

utter BS. i have a jet black 128 delivering 9/16. sorry it didnt work out for you this time, but that doesnt mean it was a "C-O-N-SPIRACY"
I don't get how people think apple would purposely leave money on the table...

That (joke) got my wife and mother in law a rose gold phone before some pre order people even got theirs shipped last year. Lol

I guess the big question is why did the UK upgrade program redirect to the US upgrade program unless you were on 3G or 4G? The only options for the UK upgrade were rose gold or gold for the 7Plus which is ridiculous.
