Really, I couldn't get in thru the website or app until quarter after 3AM, at which time all LI stores were sold out. And on the upgrade program, it didn't estimate a date, didn't put you on a list, didn't nuthin. It's good bye and good luck. This is very upsetting, I've been able to get the new phones on day one every year but this, with no guidence on how or when I can get my upgrade phone. I thought the upgrade program would be easy!

Well said "good bye and good luck". I am in the same boat. No ability to preorder online or no waiting list. Come back on the 17th to see if we have your color or storage size and if we don't... Come back next week again.... And next week again.

I think this will be my last pre-order attempt on launch day. It's not worth the lost sleep. They can't get the store online on time, and they seem to produce limited amounts of the versions they know damn well that people will want. I hate being cynical, but this kind of thing happens every year.

I'll monitor the website that shows iphone inventory in local stores once it launches next week and get one that way.

I agree with this, every year I wake up to do orders on the phone even when the watch launched. I lose sleep and still never make launch day. I think I'm done with this preorder stuff

I agree! The site wasn't available for me until 12:10am and by that point I was at a 2-3 week ship time
[doublepost=1473430650][/doublepost]that's why you use the apple store app....duh
[doublepost=1473430687][/doublepost]i got mine ordered right away jet black iPhone 7 128gb on launch day

forgot about pre-order. didn't get up early. started pre-order process around 8:15amET on Apple site. completed pre-order for iPhone 7 Black (NOT Jet Black) 128GB Verizon. delivery 9/16. what's the problem? why would anyone want a fingerprint- and scratch-prone Jet Black?

Man, I'm glad I decided to go the ATT Next route instead of the Apple Upgrade Program as I had originally planned (ATT Next was easier for business/taxes purposes). Good to know that next year it'll be an easy upgrade process for me and not this IUP mess of waiting for a reservation to trade in. They should have been clear about this process from the get go.

Also, didn't pre-order until 7:30 AM central and still got Sept 16th delivery! (128, matte black).

Yeah it's a bummer. Found that out right now. I think the only variant is the T-Mobile one that does not require eligibility verification. Which is stupid as you're full paying.
Agreed this is very stupid and cost me a decent delivery date. After trying to order 3 times and learning that they needed to verify me through verizon as a customer..why? why? why? I finally just went straight to the Verizon site and very smoothly bought 2 versions of the 7+ 128. Gold delivers 9/16 and Jet Black delivers 10/5. I wish i had gone straight to Verizon. And with Apple's stupidity they lost 2 sales of AppleCare.

I'm glad everyone folds like a calzone when the phone actually launches

"no headphone jack, no buy"
"what a mediocre upgrade"
"gahh the fingerprints on that jet black!"

<Jet black copies sell out instantly>

Verizon ****ed me by rejecting my password like 3 times while ordering through the Apple Store. Now the Jet black has slipped to November.
I had the same issue and figured out they want your Verizon account PIN and not your password, even though the screen says password. As soon as I put in my Verizon PIN it went right through.

Yeah I'm having second thoughts on buying the jet black. I will be wiping off fingerprints on every surface now :(

Why are people being attacked? Those who get their phones on launch day are in the minority (I am). Many are talking about the PLUS in black and jet black being pushed out immediately when the site came up, and it was. I ordered the 4.7 in jet black. It was in stock for a while longer.

I think the app came up slightly before the web but probably not by much. I was refreshing both at the same time. There really is no blame to place on the customers. Even the regular jet black 128 gb wasn't offered in the one store in my state. Either they had 5 or they didn't have any IMO

My alarm didn't wake me up in time so I tried around 5:45 CT. Only one store in my area had them in stock, and for the 256gb 7+ that I wanted, they only had Rose Gold on Verizon. I'm an AT&T customer, so I'm hoping this won't be a problem. Reserved for pickup through the AUP anyway, we'll see what happens. I wanted matte black, but I can live with the rose gold.

Got the email confirmation from Apple to proceed with the purchase by using the reservation number and everything was working well until I received the passcode by txt msg and enter in the screen, then got the message that page was not found and I was no longer able to use the same txt code that I received....try to use multiple times and it locked for 60 minutes..Called My-Apple and still waiting the representative for 1 hour...anyone else in the same situation?

Hey, the thing lied and told me it'd ship within 6-8 days. And then it changed to October.

Honestly, since it didn't let me order a CDMA version, odds are high I'm returning this thing if not cancelling the second I can pick one up.

6-8 weeks from now would be October.

You may run into issues due to modem differences. Then again, I know the AT&T versions didn't have CDMA but the Verizon versions had GSM so you may be ok.

I don't understand the rush for this for this phone, especially those on a 6S. No one will even notice you have the new phone. No apps will make use of the A10 yet and your sound quality from headphones is degraded, with no ability to charge at the same time (without paying extra). And you're getting a horrible home button that drains the battery each time its pressed with haptic feedback (aka vibration).

The 6S genuinely has more features, albeit not _quite_ as good a camera.

*Puzzled*

CDMA models and GSM models are separate this year unlike the iphone 6S. So it might be a problem.

Comparing supported bands, the CDMA model has everything the GSM model does, plus the CDMA bands, so I'm hoping it won't be an issue. I'm also planning to travel to Japan where I'd need the CDMA, so *hopefully* all will be ok. If not, I'll just take my chances that they'll have an AT&T model in stock.

Can you explain why a brand new "color", expected to have the highest demand, has the least supply? You'd think the geniuses at Apple would scale back on the rose gold and silver and ramp up the two blacks, especially the Jet Black, knowing it will be in high demand.

Doesn't quite work that way with manufacturing but I get your point. But it's often not a matter of scaling down something else to meet the demands of a different product. If you know you are going to need 100 rose gold and 1,000 black - you might as well make the 100 rose gold and meet that demand if there isn't any gain to get to 1,000 black ones sooner.

There's a limit to where you can only produce so much of any given product and where wait times have to be accepted for those items that fall into high demand. Taking away the ability to meet demands elsewhere doesn't make sense.
