shouldn't have gotten my hopes up thinking i'd be free from Touch Disease Hell in a week :( hopefully the delivery dates do move up

But I thought nobody wanted the one without the headphone jack and such a minor improvement over last year's specs????????? I don't understand all the orders.

I was hoping that was true but alas nope. Got November. I am not worried, I know that by the time November rolls around you are able to get an iPhone pretty easily so expecting that sometime in the next thirty. I am hoping before Oct 14 as my Gazelle price expires then.

Anyone that bought a phone last year using the Apple Upgrade program and wanted a 7 Plus was basically screwed as appointments were gone within seconds. If I wasn't locked into Apple's upgrade program, I could have had the phone was wanted on the 23rd. Instead now I won't get it until December. This means paying for extras months until the 7 Plus is available and then not be eligible to upgrade when the 8 Plus comes out next year.

The whole purpose of the upgrade program is that you are supposed to be able to upgrade every year, but in reality you can't. At least not if you want the Plus model. Apple was still taking reservations for the 7 last I checked.

I'm never using Apple's upgrade program again.

I was on the site Eastern Time 3:00 AM, kept saying coming soon. Kept restarting site. By the time it allowed me to order, it said "No longer taking reservations". What the H*** Apple? And I'm part of the new iPhone every year. Did they really sell out or just not even have stock? Maybe this new every year is BS and I should have ordered outright cash but even that is saying what, November now? What is the chance it will be available on the 17th? And this "walk in" idea is ridiculous. Ever been in the cattle lines on opening day? I don't want to settle. I want what I want. I was even going to up to the 256GB, nope...sold old. Is it just Florida that sucks? I see comments that people actually "Got theirs". Must be in a big time place like LA, Miami, or NY. smh

That's easy.. reselling will be huge for the new black series devices. Get one on release date, don't open it.. resell it to someone who missed out or doesn't want to wait.. pocket an extra couple hundred bucks.. if not more. I've seen it in the past where phones have sold for double on release date because people just cannot wait.. it's crazy! I ordered a 256gb jb unlocked.. I had zero intentions in purchasing this device but for the money aspect its completely worth the time put in. Either I keep the phone.. sell my old one.. or outright sell mine the second it comes out for more then I paid and pocket the difference.

There will be massive queues a launch.

And it's easy to see that the Jet Black 7 will become a must have "fashion" item.

Couple that with Samsung self-annihilation, what we'll have is a blackbuster Q1.

New Zealand Apple Store was a little late "opening" I didn't look at the time but it must've been 15 mins late or so... Don't mind cause I got in there as soon as it opened and ordered my Black iPhone 7 32GB shipping 16th September :D

I love getting new products as soon as they're released, they just stay up to date for longer :)

Being part of Apple's upgrade program seems to shut us out of reserving a phone, while the sell out to everyone else. I could buy a new phone, but not even at 12:01 was there any option to upgrade.
Yeah they never said we are going to have to basically wait now until the physical stores have a surplus in stock. I'm honestly tempted to just pay off the rest of my iPhone upgrade program balance and but a new one in full now. At least then you get trade in value.

After finally getting to see the iPhone 7 Plus on Verizon's website, I ordered mine at 2:40 am with an expected delivery date of 9/26. A bit disappointed that I'm bumped out a week for a phone that should not be as in demand as the other colors.

Oh well, maybe they'll ship it a bit early.

Did anyone get an option to do faster shipping? It said faster would be the 23Rd but It wouldn't let me do it, but I assumed it would be standard shipping anyways.

A lot of the sales are resellers. Some ebayers hoping for a shortage to mark up the price. Others are sent to other countries where they are worth almost double the price.

Last years 6s was pushed a couple weeks to month but I was able to do a walk in on launch day without an hassle and out the door in less than 5 mins with a iPhone.
Sales are sales. Nobody would buy an iPhone to resell if there wasn't any demand for them. Ultimately, they still represent money in Apple's pocket.

I just went through a 60 minute lockout cause of my Verizon billing password (sigh) but it still says Delivery 1 on my order receipt to receive on release day. I thought they were all sold out? I had it in my inventory the whole time so it may have reserved my spot, but I ordered one for my brother, black 32gb and it ships the same day. Am I being played or will I still really get it on launch day, an hour after preorder opened??

Finally got through to the chat, and the **** disconnected me after a snooty remark. Why is it so difficult to order a phone and pay for it? So ****ing stupid.

Still great availability on Apple website here on the East coast. For Verizon phones, the only model that seems delayed is the 128 Jet Black.
I just replied about that. I had a 60 minute lockout and still was able to get it on Apple site with Verizon received by Sept. 16th. Wondering if this is an illusion or what??

Up well before 3 am on the East Coast. So much fun watching the activity, like ants finding a sugar source. I'll wait until the Iphone 8 next year.
So much fun monitoring the Reddit thread and just watching all the rage and disappointment. Like I said, Apple somehow manages to **** it up every single year. Apparently the carrier sites were extra bad this year too, so there was extra rage.

I'm with you on this one. Seems we should have been given a priority or something or at least NOT require a dang reservation at the Apple store. I am very cross with Apple this year

They slipped before the $%!@$! website even worked.

Same for me, I was heavily updating the App Store between 9:00 and 9:10 and it was offline. Came back by 9:20 and the 7 Plus Black model was already showing a 2-3 weeks delivery estimate. I doubt they had any available for shipping on launch date.

How reliable is that shipping estimate, has anyone experienced it in the past ? Is there a chance for it to improve over time once the order is placed ?

Anyone who is in the iPhone Upgrade program and is getting screwed over needs to make sure they call and complain with Apple. The only way they will actually change their system is if people complain. I'm sure someone out there is already getting their lawsuit ready.
