Actual translation (since most models were still very available for delivery on September 16th, even two days after pre-orders started): We expect sales of the iPhone 7 to under perform past years and releasing the numbers will hurt the stock.

They said the number doesn't mean anything because they don't have enough iPhones. Translation: They didn't have enough iPhones at launch so their opening weekend sales will be lower and that would hurt the stock.

I'll start by pointing out that I do not post here much. My girlfriend and I have been participating in every launch day event starting since 2009. Some years we have pre-ordered but most we have waited in line for. This years launch is the most frustrating yet. We were camping in the mountains when pre-orders opened and planned on waiting in line as we have done many times this morning until learning that stores wouldn't have the 7 plus on launch day. Why did Apple change their distribution model? In the past Apple always made small quantities available to stores, even when pre-orders sold quickly. I just don't get this years launch.

They messed up on the whole iPhone Update Program and I am guessing large quantities of the walk in models went to that. It's a program they are pushing and they couldn't really afford to have it get nothing but negative press a year into it. Beyond that, they made it known that supplies were much shorter this launch than they had been in the past.

Still restoring from backup, but everyone at the ATT store was staring as I opened my matte black 128gig so they could all see. and they were all asking about the button and the headphones.

I showed up at my local Apple Store at 7:50 AM and was greeted by an Apple employee. She was adamant about only the phones being on sale at 8 AM and told me to either wait until 10 AM or to come back after 10 if I wanted a watch. "Only the iPhone 7 is available at 8 AM." You mean to tell me that if someone bought an iPhone 7 at 8 AM that they wouldn't sell them any accessories for it? Apple dropped the ball on this. If they're going to open early for any reason then everything should be available when they open.

Not true. From the Apple website, all models in all color/memory options (except Jet Black) are 2-3 weeks for delivery. Jet Black models, the phone most people want, ship sometime in November.

Just going to come out and say it, this launch has been terrible. The phone that people want is the 7 Plus. No stock in store and preorder shipments have been delayed for many people especially for the jet black and black models.

Please re-read what I posted. Pay close attention to the "two days after pre-orders started" part.

And of course the inventory system is freezing up. Don't know yet if they will switch to the old fashioned method.

I'm totally happy with my 6S right now (except that I made the mistake of getting the 16GB model). I'm gonna wait for the iPhone 8 or whatever it's gonna be called next year. But congrats to those who are getting the new iPhone 7. Those black phones look gorgeous!

It was changed last year as well. The idea is to NOT have people waiting in lines all day b/c that's not a great experience. Apple Store App is the way to get the 7.

It's a bummer. Definitely looks like they just weren't able to produce the numbers of 7+'s they wanted, by a good amount & the orders for the 7+ are much higher than the base 7 compare to the 6 & 6s. Probably had some technical issue holding production up (or slowing it). Gotta wait.

Can't say I saw many people when I went to the Apple store here in Brussels, neither in the re-sellers. I get the impression a lot of people, myself included, will skip the iP7.

Because we know there ain't going to be any. Either they have an appointment to pick one up or they ordered online. Strolling in to pick one up without preorder is pointless.

Wife's Rose Gold 128 GB 7 and her Series 2 watch will arrive sometime this morning. Watch was ordered about 5 minutes after they went on sale.

Her phone was ordered Monday morning.

Since I wanted a black Plus, I'm getting the 2-3 weeks delivery window.
