in genereal i´m happy now with my battery. but even setting it up as new i loose 9% over night in Airplane mode. Then after switching off airplane mode i loose around 10% while reading some mails and safari. Then it´s stabil with 2% per hour ...

Forgot to charge mine on Tuesday night so it ended up doing two days unintentionally. I didn't make any allowances for this on the second day and continued to use it normally.

I'm a fairly light user compared to many here, most of my usage is screen off driving Spotify over Bluetooth or Plex over AirPlay. The phone is in wifi range 90% of the time. The only battery saving steps I take are disabling background refresh for most apps (especially Facebook) and disabling automatic updates.

I ran a marathon today. iPhone 7 4.7 inch. Pretty good. My 6 would have been in the red easily by now. This things battery is insane when the screen is off!

Standby is a beast. Usage time is not as impressive as I had hoped.

I'm coming from a 5S, by the way. (And I'm talking about the 7... not the 7 Plus.)

This is the real deal guys! 4.7 inch iPhone 7 JB 128gb. Unplugged this morning at about 6:45 and have used the phone quite a bit. Took it on a 10 mile run with Nike tracking gps and with Spotify playing music the entire time. Listened to about an hour of a podcast and have done some surfing on safari and some iMessage. With my 6 it would be dead by now. I do believe in the 2 hour increase!

Pretty much the EXACT same usage and standby I get with my 7 JB 128 GB :)

You were playing music. Does not count.
GPS tracking in the background the entire time doesn't count either?

Same model. I'm tempted to get an exchange because the bottom of thescreen has a yellowish tinge but I'm afraid I'd lose my awesome battery life or have some other problem with the screen that's worse!

They are not equal to having the screen on.

Well of course! In my post I clearly say this is insane battery life for having the screen off. Which it is. It's way better than my 6 was with the screen off too. The low power cores really help. That's all I was trying to say. In screen on usage I've been able to hit 8+ usage on my 7 compared to usually 6 or 6:30 on my iPhone 6.

I'd get an exchange. Battery life shouldn't be too different (most of the time it's software related anyway), but I wouldn't be happy with a yellow screen.

I can confirm that the iPhone 7 has insane battery life when the screen is off. I watched like up to an hour of the NASA ISS Livestream on Youtube through Airplay to my Apple TV 4 and I could not believe my eyes, but I only lost 2 percent battery during that time. If you do the math I could have watched 50 hours (when battery is at 100%) of the same stream, which is just astounding for such a small device. Apple really optimized and did their homework with this generation of SoC and probably it's also related a lot to either the new Qualcomm (20nm) or Intel modem (28nm) that they're using now.

On a full charge mixed usage is constantly over 8 hours with the screen on and the GPU also active and sometimes I do even approach 9 or 10 hours (depends on my workday).

One of the reasons why I bought the 7 was battery life (I come from the 6s) and I am very very pleasantly surprised. IMHO if one cares a lot about battery life, the 7 is a winner and probably the best iPhone I have every owned, since I did not yet find any weaknesses whatsoever.

new qualcomm chips at 14nm...well the ones found in flagships are

Alright; so this looks pretty good, however; I haven't used the phone for more than 7 hours. I have actually used it for 3 in this time periode; 1 hour of browsing for each morning (so 2 hours) and 1 hour of replying to some iMessages and WhatsApp messages.

Where the hell does the rest of this time come from? Overnight it drains 7 percent and give me 30 minutes of usage as well. During the day it is even worse; sometimes it gives me 30 minutes of usage in an hour. Background refresh is turned off for everything. Phone has been setup as new; logged into iCloud only after setting everything else up, so there is nothing old on there. It is linked to an Apple Watch, however, but the watch seems to work quite well.

I'm only pulling 6 hours tops. I had gotten 7 hours once. Everyone is getting way better battery.

I usually roll with my battery percentage off but I've had it on for a few days now and I've noticed that at 98% the battery meter icon is still all the way full. In fact it doesn't change until it hits 95% now. I think in iOS 9 the icon would not be entirely full at 98%. Is anybody else's iPhone 7 doing this or do I have a bug? Maybe apple changed it so it looks like the battery meter is fuller longer.
