Not at all, but it doesn't really change what as I said, as it is also thicker and larger. I would still rather have the battery life.
So I will repeat myself, see if you get it this time. You said you don't want silly hires screens if they have awful battery life. I said the hires s7 edge has a better battery life than the lower res screen 6s plus. You the go onto say that it doesnt change anything? Really. If you want best battery life, best go with the galaxy mate..
[doublepost=1460316437][/doublepost]
you should probably do some research lol, like half the posts I've seen come from you are loaded with misinformation.

Also, the S7 Edge has a much larger battery, and it barely beats the 6s Plus and only at LTE battery life (it sorely loses in Wi-Fi). Not to mention, it probably achieves this battery life because the CPU is too busy throttling after a few minutes of work. It throttles even more than the OnePlus 2 lol
So out of all this you have agreed that the s7 edge has better battery life than the 6s plus. Thanks for backing up my point. All I was doing was refuting that the silly hires s7 had awful battery life due to the screen.

It does have better battery life for Anandtech's LTE test, but the 6s has better battery life in the Wi-Fi test. And I already went through what I think about the quoted resolution and why it is not the equivalent of RGB resolution.

I guess you're entitled to cherrypicking your facts as much as you like, though. :) Sounds like you're pretty happy with your purchase.

I d9nt have a s7 mate, just discussing that 2k screens does.not necessarily mean awful battery life, no more no less..

But it does mean more power draw. Higher resolution = more pixels to have to render. It does not mean bad battery life in this case because the S7 Edge has a pretty good battery life, because it uses a huge battery. I imagine if the S7 Edge used an iPhone 6s-sized battery, it'd be pretty bad.

I'm pretty happy that Samsung decided to make the phones a bit thicker and put in a bigger battery. I'm tired of Apple's obsession for thin-ness.

Apple is actually behind on so many things, OLED, inductive charging, waterproofing, 16gb base, no vr, huge bezels, still usb2 speeds on most iOS, no industry standard usb-c on iOS, it'd be nice for Apple to wake up and start leading again.
The cool thing is, you can go buy one of those "leading" phones now instead of waiting for Apple to cater to your wish list.

I bought a Gear VR on eBay a week ago, which saved me about $45 vs. buying it in a store.

I have to say, after watching a movie in a VR movie theater, I'm not sure I can go back to watching movies on my phone, tablet, or laptop.

iPhone is really behind in display specs. This never used to be a problem since publications and 2D graphics still look good on 1080p, but now we have VR. It's a whole new game. 1080p does not cut it with VR. Not when your eyes are an inch away from the display.

This is why I believe that the iPhone 7 might represent the true end of the SJ era if they don't have their act together for the iPhone 7. Even if they match the specs of of other displays they are just playing catch up. The addition of the Flux feature in 9.3 is a good example of how they can no longer think for themselves.

They really need to maximize GPU/Metal tech and release the iPhone 7 with the best display in the market.

The SJ Era Ended on 10-5-2011. Apple lost it's Soul that day. There was nothing anyone could do to stop the decay, and lack of focus directed toward innovation once he was gone. There is a reason the Apple Watch Project went forward the day after Steve passed. No focus. Becomes an Accessory Company. I thought the SE would save Apple's ass as the market for $500 phone rapidly fades. Looks like it won't now. Apple could be in serious trouble this time in 2017. I simply see no new revenue streams unless the 7 is spectacular in several ways.

Apple has become to large, and is working on too many different tasks. There is a loss of direction, focus, center point. I agree the 7 needs to be much more that a 6s with a TFT Display. The A10 will not be as huge a jump as the A9 was. :apple:

Right, Apple stopped innovating on that day. Got it.

Apple could lose billions every quarter starting tomorrow and not be in serious trouble for years.

Which is why they can away with the same level of mediocrity, half-assed new products/services and overall lack of focus that nearly doomed them in the 90s before Jobs swooped in and saved the day. Their vast cash reserves have created a protective cocoon and less of an incentive to continue on the path Jobs put them on. Once the money starts to run a bit dry and the common consensus states that Apple has indeed lost its edge, Apple will feel the pressure to rekindle the magic of the Steve Jobs era aka Apple's Golden Age.

When you watch Netflix on the Gear VR, you're in a VR cabin (pictured above) with a big ass TV in the wall, and you interact with the TV just like you would in real life. It's unreal.

And when you watch your own movies stored on your phone, you can pick from multiple theaters. There's an empty normal theater, a home theater, an ant theater where you're sitting on a stick and there are mushrooms and grass growing around you with a Samsung phone that acts as your screen for the movie, a theater on the moon, and a blank theater that just has black space all around so you're not distracted by anything.

It's so amazing to be able to lie down on your back, stare up, and watch what appears to be a massive display floating above you. This just can't be done on an iPhone with the current resolution. I can easily see pixels on my Galaxy S7 Edge already with the VR, and the iPhone's display is even less pixel-dense, especially the SE and 6/6s.

I never thought I'd need or even want such a high resolution display on a phone. I felt like 1080p was more than enough. Now I'd love to see a 4K phone, simply to get better VR quality. I really thought VR was just a novelty until I tried it. I'll probably use mine almost every day now. I really hope Apple gets in on the VR action soon, because I know they can cause it to really take off. I'd love to see some high quality 360 movies getting made.

They can, but they haven't. There vast cash reserves is a setup for future products and revenue lines.

But I do agree if as you say Apple loses its edge, the money runs dry, it will be in the year 2030 and likely the world be a bit different then.

Like 3D tv, I'm guessing the novelty will wear off.

If you think watching movies at a movie theater is a novelty, maybe. It's not just cool scenery around the video while you watch. It appears like you're watching movies on a giant screen. And not only that, but I can put the VR on and lie down on my bed or recline on my couch and watch the movie like there's a giant movie theater screen mounted above my head.

And I'm just talking about watching movies. VR is definitely the future of gaming.

I don't go to the movies and I gave up gaming, Broadway shows are my thing. I have 3D tv and the novelty wore off. To each their own though.

Yes they did, and yes they could. But not without bringing it back on shore. Or have you forgotten where Apple's Billions are?
Tax 40% on each Billion brought back. Do you follow their production forecasts? They just extended the 30% reduction in 6s production for another Q.
You do realize the iPhone is 60% of Apple's net revenue, yes? The only product rising is the Mac (AW is an accessory, and not doing well anyway.) Do you know how much the Mac is responsible for net revenue?

They have too many eggs in too many baskets at once. No focus on a breakthrough device. Steve would never have let the lack of focus get to this point. All Tim cares about is inventory in the supply chain, and dividends to the shareholders. He let's everyone else do their own thing. No structure, no discipline, no more Soul. :apple:

You could watch recorded Broadway shows like you were actually there with VR. Once the quality is increased with higher resolution displays and better quality 360 cameras, it will almost feel like you're there without ever even leaving your house.

And unless you were saying you guess the novelty would wear off on you personally, just because you don't go to the movies or play games doesn't mean it's something people will stop using once the novelty wears off. A new pool in my back yard would stop getting used once the novelty wore off because I don't even really like to swim, though some people would use it all the time.

Speaking just for me personally and nobody else's taste or preference... but...
I like watching movies with my wife, not by myself (and not with a projector strapped to my face)
I like being able to look at her, see her reactions and interact with her during scenes of the movie
and yes, I like to kiss her occasionally as well during the movie (without bumping projectors)

I guess I value my actual reality over a virtual reality

I'm sure we will get plugged into the Matrix soon enough
But for now, I will enjoy my freedom

Well as one arm chair CEO to another, our advice is worth exactly what we get paid for volunteering it on an internet forum.

The novelty of using my pool never wears off; especially when we have some alone time. I could care less about immersing myself in a "private" world. If that is your thing, you go for it.

This. Exactly.
