That's a joke right?
You can't really be that...
Charging your phone in the daytime is one option to allow you to listen to music all night through the lightning port.
Buying a separate adapter with a passthrough for charging is another (if they don't exist now, they soon will).

If you have headphones with a 3.5mm plug, you can use Apple's charging dock.

I'm really having a hard time getting upset about your dilemma.

My body is ready

for Galaxy S7 Edge ha ha

But seriously.. Fastest chip on a smartphone? Samsung should add Tizen to S7 just to prove how fast Samsung Exynos 8890 really is! Will destroy the iPhone 7 in terms of speed
If you want prove? wait until you see a comparison between Gears S3 vs Apple Watch, the Samsung single core will destroy the dual core from the :apple: Watch, Intel is the king PC cpu while Samsung is the king in mobile CPUs

Icon X is so much better in every aspect than the AirPods and Gear S3 Frontier will destroy the :apple: Watch especially in sales!

I just told my sister who owns a Galaxy S7..look the iPhone 7 just came out and your camera from the S7 it's better than the one from the iPhone 7 xD! I got admit they added some intersting stuff to the camera but when it comes to photo quality..the S7 wins!

You forgot the /s at the end of your post

Im so exited! I just eat a burger!

I'm so exited I showered today!

I'm so exited I watched TV today! XD!!!!

Really Apple? You increased the production on the iPhone 7 because of the Note 7 battery problems? Have you forgot about the Galaxy S7 Edge? the best selling smartphone in 2016!

I suggest you update your numbers in your head...

Since Apple is positioning the AirPods as the "introductory product" to the new wireless (jackless) world of audio…. they really should have priced it more reasonably in order to lure enough "adopters".

I understand that the engineering, the W1 chip, is not cheap, but I'm sure they still could have shipped this AirPods (at some small profit) for around $119 or $129. But at a price point of $159….. it will take years for the masses to be "sold" on the wireless audio thing.

The first one is free. It comes in the box with the iPhone. There's no kitten in the box, so if you want a free kitten, you'll have to look elsewhere. Apple apparently doesn't believe in free kittens, but they will give you a free adapter.

Simple. Charge your phone in the daytime. That leaves the night free for listening to music with your lightning headphones.

I don't know. I had a Nokia 1520 from 2013-2015 and it's fake buttons were awful. One of the biggest features that I regained from switching back to an iPhone 6S Plus last fall.

but the writer claims this falls short of the new trackpads, of which I own the new trackpad. It works great but if the writer claims it falls short, then Apple failed.

Ah, I thought you'd written off all Taptic based stuff. Which you would have been mistaken to do. No worries

iPhone 7 should have included dual camera. Tim is making bigger is better. No headphone jack, no wireless charging, no retina scanner, no oled screen, no new macs, Apple lost its way.
Wait until 2017. This product is just a tie over to the new design (maybe something they didn't want to do), but timing was slightly wrong and to introduce a 6S+2 or whatever wouldn't of been a good step.

Next year will be the year if Apple stay high or release a flop of a 10th anniversary edition phone and crumble. They're hedging their bets on iOS devices now. The lack of Mac updates yesterday shows that.

Hmm - from The Verge piece:

Another thing I tried: the new home button, which uses a "taptic engine" to give you physical feedback when you press it — it's pressure sensitive too, so it can tell if you really mean to press it or just tap it. And it's awful. On a MacBook trackpad, you get this uncanny feeling that you're actually hitting a button. On the iPhone, the whole bottom of the phone just sort of "kicks." It's not bad haptics like you remember, with weird vibration, it's just a new kind of bad haptics. It doesn't feel like a button at all. It's a bummer.

The new home button is something you should really try with your hands.
It is the first step in the right direction: getting rid of the home button as we know it and reduce the bezel. So I think it is a good news, we'll just have to get used to the new haptic feedback

I'm waiting for 2017, no iPhone 7 for me.
And yes, most of their revenues come from iOS devices so they better make a great iPhone or they'll start losing money.

AirPods look like a parody: what would happen if we just cut the cord? Not inspiring design

This.
The W1 chip looks promising, but I don't like the design. They look awful, like they cut the cord.
Beat's design looks better

I will probably wait a few weeks.
Could imagine it's easily scratched or becomes smudged by fingerprints very fast.

Well, here it is...

Official Apple website:
"The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."

This is the same thing. Within 3 years no high end phone will have a physical home button at all.
I'm just surprised the volume buttons and sleep/wake button aren't also capacitive.

I don't know much phones with physical home buttons anyway.
Samsung, some Xiaomis... that's it for the most part.

I had my head in the zone to upgrade to the 128GB 7 (from a 64GB 6) ... but that price increase smarts somewhat.
I can't imagine next year, with it being an anniversary year, would see a release of a 7S, but rather the 8, so I'm tempted to wait for that.

I'm really upset by the headphone jack removal. This just looks like a push to get folks to buy their new Airpods and new Beats headphones. "Courageous"? Pfft.

Such a lousy move at this point in time.

Did you also cry like a baby when the stopped putting a 5.25" floppy on their computers, or when they ditched the CD-ROM?

Why would you want an analog and out dated port, when you could have a superior digital connection or wireless? And as an added bonus they include an adaptor to plug in your old headphones until you are ready to upgrade to better headphones.

Well that was a right yawn fest if ever there was one, geez! Oh well let's just hope for better things for the iPhone's 10th anniversary in 2017.

Those wireless ear buds look like you've been the victim of a prank i.e. some kids just cut the wires off them and run away. You know things are bad if all people can get excited about is they are making the iPhone in 'black' really Apple.

Well that's my savings account safe for at least another year. Still let's look on the bright side, there could be something equally as earth shattering in the much delayed iMac updates. Steve must be spinning in his grave.

You do understand that neither Apple nor the late Steve Jobs were magical wizards right?

I just don't understand. One year has passed since the last iPhone came out. There is only so much a corporation can do to design a new phone, test it, get it to work, and then mass produce millions of them so that they don't explode.

It simply isn't possible to produce the revolutionary upgrades you and people like you seem to expect.

A way better camera, faster processing, better display. That's fine with me.

Don't like it, wait another year. No one ever said you had to buy every single version of the iPhone that ever gets released.

If you would understand anything about audio, you wouldn't make such comments.
1. There is no digital audio. At some point you have to go analog. If it happens inside the phone or inside the headphones doesn't matter as long as we are looking the same DAC.
2. Apple and Beats headphones are pretty average and not worth their price.
3. Wireless means losing quality.

those airpods look ridiculous.

Apple didn't offer a compelling reason to leave the wired headphones. Courage is not a reason.

There is no new bluetooth high fidelity audio nor is there an apple signature high quality audio experience to be had. This is a sham for consumers.

They DID offer a good reason....to save space. And now to include stereo speakers. Were you not listening?

Apple lightning cables are $20 and do not take much abuse. I can buy a much more durable cable for half the price and the cable will last twice as long. Hell yeah Apple cables are overpriced.

At $9 I bet people at Apple are complaining that they are practically giving away the cable. I thought for sure the cable would be over $30. Why? Because Apple can.

So people are complaining that Apple didn't set the price higher, like, because that challenges your expectations? Would it have been preferable if the adapter was set at $£30 so we could shoot Apple down for ripping us all off?
Damned if they do. Damned if they don't.

Not only that, but can you imagine how many of these are simply going to be lost? Hopefully there is some way to have them emit some type of noise within a certain distance of you're iPhone. Good idea. Poor design, and implementation. :apple:

The design video foreshadows a whole new design is coming for iPhone. Quote from 2m:03s:

"When complete, iPhone 7 is the most singular, the most evolved representation of this design."

Confirmed, new iPhone design coming next year!

£919 for the top end 7plus, £1500 for the ceramic case watch. Are these prices sustainable? I get that the watch is a move into fashion (increasingly so, given the modest functionality increases), but that kind of price for a phone? For me, just way too much for what.....faster performance and a nicer camera.

The price is what it is, given it is more computer than many people have already, or for some people it is their only computer. And for those that use an installment payment plan, it is a brilliant way of getting the latest and greatest and only paying it off if they absolutely want to keep the iPhone and not upgrade.
