The Haptic feedback trackpad on the MacBook Pro is great, I'm dismayed that they could have messed it up on the iPhone. Awaiting more impressions on this with an uneasy feeling.

Likely it just needs getting used too, but the transition to haptic models on the MBP was seamless.

It sounds like you're saying they should remove the audio jack 5 years from now instead of today.

But that would be the opposite of praising Phil like you did, so I'm not sure what to think now.

No, the EarPods look pretty damn decent even for first gen but don't get me wrong they have still got a long way to go. The industry needs this shove. Remember how USB storage took off as soon as Apple dumped the floppy drive?

As strange as it sounds, I bet a lot less people would buy the iPhone 7 if they didn't include a lightning to 3.5mm adapter in the box. It is cool that the adapter only costs $9 though. I was expecting it to be a bit more expensive...

Shhhhhh. Can't say. Although I can state the matte black will show more fingerprints than the jet black (piano black as we call it).

Assuming the frame is metal for the matte and it's textured then anodized, it shouldn't show fingerprints unless you had very oily fingers. It could be worse. They could make a phone with stainless steel. That picks up acids and oils in your fingers like a magnet.

Well one thing's for sure ... the way Phil emphasized the headphone jack as a single function port suggests we'll see Lightning added to the MacBook possibly next month. That will make a huge difference on the rMB for some. Something else that signals Lightning ports in the Macs is the fact there was no mention of an adapter to plug the Lightning headphones into a 3.5mm jack source -- like the Mac. I'm very curious to see how Apple updates the MFi specs and what kinds of adapters start showing up in the Apple Store.

I'm really hoping that Apple has updated the Lightning charging cable in the box with a passthrough port. They're essentially already doing it on the external battery case, they just need to reduce that down to the end of a cable, and that would go a long way toward satisfying a lot of people. I really hope Apple manages to limit the adapters to a minimum. And I hope they stop including it for free in the 7s just as they stopped including the dock with the original iPhone.

LIGHTNING TO 3.5mm ADAPTER IS $9.00!!

$9.00 !!!!!

This has to be some kind of new record for Apple!

Do you work for apple ? Or just offering the cheerleading for free in regards to the removal of the headphone jack?

I have no idea why some folks felt that this adapter would cost $69.

Apple lightning cables are $20 and do not take much abuse. I can buy a much more durable cable for half the price and the cable will last twice as long. Hell yeah Apple cables are overpriced.

At $9 I bet people at Apple are complaining that they are practically giving away the cable. I thought for sure the cable would be over $30. Why? Because Apple can.

No. I remember how CD-ROMs took off then. Everything else was still very expensive for many years to come.

But I also don't remember them announcing CD-Rs on the exact same day the iMac lost the floppy drive. They'd been around and people knew what they were. In other words, there was overlap between the old and the new. (Kind of like how Apple transitioned from PowerPC to Intel. Remember that? How they took a year to do it?)

Not like this where they just went and did it all at once. Why? Why not make Airbuds available last year with the iPhone 6S? Would that have made too much sense? Apparently!

Bingo, and it didn't take really oily hands. Surprisingly the jet black sheen hides finger prints much better. I'm staring at my Mac Pro6,1 which is very similar if not the same and it doesn't show finger prints when touched. The matte finish did quite often, however the edges of the jet black might show more wear.

My body is ready

for Galaxy S7 Edge ha ha

But seriously.. Fastest chip on a smartphone? Samsung should add Tizen to S7 just to prove how fast Samsung Exynos 8890 really is! Will destroy the iPhone 7 in terms of speed
If you want prove? wait until you see a comparison between Gears S3 vs Apple Watch, the Samsung single core will destroy the dual core from the :apple: Watch, Intel is the king PC cpu while Samsung is the king in mobile CPUs

Icon X is so much better in every aspect than the AirPods and Gear S3 Frontier will destroy the :apple: Watch especially in sales!

I just told my sister who owns a Galaxy S7..look the iPhone 7 just came out and your camera from the S7 it's better than the one from the iPhone 7 xD! I got admit they added some intersting stuff to the camera but when it comes to photo quality..the S7 wins!

FYI. In case you missed. There were multiple reports that the iPhone 6S was fast then the S7 and S7 Note. With iPhone 7 being even faster, we'll let just say it's good thing the S7 has dust resistence to help deal with the dust of being left behind Apple. Again.

I'm really upset by the headphone jack removal. This just looks like a push to get folks to buy their new Airpods and new Beats headphones. "Courageous"? Pfft.

Such a lousy move at this point in time.
