Apple lightning cables are $20 and do not take much abuse. I can buy a much more durable cable for half the price and the cable will last twice as long. Hell yeah Apple cables are overpriced.

At $9 I bet people at Apple are complaining that they are practically giving away the cable. I thought for sure the cable would be over $30. Why? Because Apple can.
Right but I felt that the adapter is pretty much just a pass-through. Like the inexpensive MagSafe 2 adapters for the newer MacBook Pros.

Seriously Apple? That's your solution? Wireless earphones with a long stick poking out? People are gonna get serious stick for wearing those!

How are other companies able to make theirs much more compact and stylish, yet you've gone for some weird alien protrusion? I thought style was something Apple excelled at.

Those wireless headphones look ridiculous. While I can't say that Bragi is perfect (for me very minor connectivity stuttering on occasion), at least they look like a well thought out finished product.

I'm not shocked. Captive (fake) buttons can't hold a candle to a physical (real) button.

I think this just is something for people to get used too. Like when people complained about the lack of real buttons for texting and how weird and wrong it felt. But very quickly got over it and killed physical keyboard phones.
This is the same thing. Within 3 years no high end phone will have a physical home button at all.
I'm just surprised the volume buttons and sleep/wake button aren't also capacitive.

One downside I will have to workaround with no headphone jack.

For snowboarding I have speakers in my helmet. You don't really want to go wireless because of battery life on both the phone and speakers in the cold.

So my helmet speakers are corded with controls on the cord. Because I keep the phone 6S Plus in my left leg pocket, in order to keep it from being even bigger or breaking off the headphone connector I bought a Beats style right angle headphone connect. It plugs in almost flush to my phone and then I plug my cord to my helmet into that. No stick coming out of my phone to land on and snap off. The lightning headphone adapter is not right angled and makes the phone longer in your pocket.

I found the emphasis on the jet black amusing since 99.9% will have their beloved iPhone hidden in a case. I did find the new air pods interesting and will definitely be checking them out. I still wouldn't be seen dead with an Apple watch strapped to my wrist. I don't like the plus size to buy a phone for the camera, which looks impressive, but I'll stick with my Fujifilm for now.

Come on Apple, the Mac is where it is at, your getting lost up your own arrogant backside.

LIGHTNING TO 3.5mm ADAPTER IS $9.00!!

$9.00 !!!!!

This has to be some kind of new record for Apple!

IT's $9.00 more than the 6S and it's tacky, and another adapter to carry!!!!!!!

And the real kicker.....what DAC do you think you are getting for $9.00.....

genius......given the DAC in the 6S costs more than $9.00..... You are getting worse audio experiece....and you are actually gloating and celebrating...wow....just wow.

Before you cheerleader on, let's see how much an equivalent DAC to the 6S will cost....not the junk supplied in this adapter

Good to see 5 hours on the airpods but they look kinda silly, like the wires were just pulled out

No ear hair, very good grooming.

Not sure about the log stock at the end of the the airpod tho....looks odd.

Total Apple cop-out on deleting the 3.5mm headphone jack. "Courage"? If it was so courageous they wouldn't have felt the need to throw an adapter in the box with the new phone while simultaneously flipping off the millions of people who charge their phone while simultaneously using the 3.5mm jack for audio out.

And in another bone-head move they introduce "air buds" that look (and probably sound) absolutely terrible. It boggles the mind a bit that Apple continues to insist that one-size fits all earphones are still relevant in 2016.

Im so exited! I just eat a burger!

I'm so exited I showered today!

I'm so exited I watched TV today! XD!!!!

Really Apple? You increased the production on the iPhone 7 because of the Note 7 battery problems? Have you forgot about the Galaxy S7 Edge? the best selling smartphone in 2016!
They are so excited they are laughing to the bank.

Still sounds like Apple hasn't even matched the Rokr E8 with Haptics. o_O

Hey Tim, 2007 called....It's offering to tell you how Haptics work.

That jet black will look like it lost a fight on a bus full of drag queens on their way to a wig sale within a week.

It won't. They said the jet black is as durable as the other colors. Guess they've learned from the black iPhone 5, which looked like sh** after a few months.

Apple didn't offer a compelling reason to leave the wired headphones. Courage is not a reason.

There is no new bluetooth high fidelity audio nor is there an apple signature high quality audio experience to be had. This is a sham for consumers.

So it's just standard BT audio??

The one thing I keep thinking about with these wireless headphones is that right now if those sometimes loosely gripping EarPods happen to fall out, all that happens is that one might drop and hang from the iPhone jack. No biggie. Now they'll drop down on the asphalt. Maybe while you're cycling. F everything about that.

At the volume Apple is building this, I'm sure the quality will surprise you.
