My iPhone 6 currently has a 4 hour battery life because of my heavy usage.I am sure considering people like me who currently plug in the iPhone at least 3 times a day it won't change things much for the AWESOME display it will provide. You can have a 4K display. Battery life will not be great.
This reminds me of the time when back in 2010 people were thinking 1080P to be way overkill.I am sure by 2020 we will all be using 4K screens as standard and wonder however we ever got by with 1080P and especially 720PI'm sure many will disagree but IMO 4K 5" displays are pointless unless you're going to be positioning the display 2" from your eyes for VR or something. In normal use it's overkill, and demands more from the GPU to drive the graphics so expect battery life to take a hit. 1920x1080 or the like is fine for a 5" phone display IMO.
I thank you for that But they are missing a few things: FaceTime, iMessage, Apple support, the iconic look of the iPhone, Apple Pay, Touch ID, that natural screen display, etc. btw is it two day battery standby? My iPhone 6 currently has a 4 hour battery life because of my heavy usage.I am sure considering people like me who currently plug in the iPhone at least 3 times a day it won't change things much for the AWESOME display it will provide.
If you really want a good battery you should be looking at the Xperia series anyway. They have 2 day battery life
The Xperia Z5 has a better display than the normal 6 model and the 4K premium version blows it outta the water.Facetime is easily replaced by Skype. The Omnibalance design is as good looking as the iPhone. It already has a fingerprint sensor supporting Android PayI thank you for that But they are missing a few things: FaceTime, iMessage, Apple support, the iconic look of the iPhone, Apple Pay, Touch ID, that natural screen display, etc. btw is it two day battery standby?
Not a fiasco, as it isn't one?Well what would you call Comparing a 720P screen to a 2K screen of Samsung and a 4K screen of Sony?No exaggeration at all

It's a day long battery life guaranteed with heavy usage. With moderate usage its 2 days
As I said earlier since I already charge 3 times a day I wouldn't mind a 4K iPhone
Sure a 4K iPhone with 4 gigs of ram and a week battery life will be great. The Xperia Z5 has a better display than the normal 6 model and the 4K premium version blows it outta the water.Facetime is easily replaced by Skype. The Omnibalance design is as good looking as the iPhone. It already has a fingerprint sensor supporting Android Pay

As much as the battery life of the 6 is ABSOLUTELY horrible the Plus model has outstanding battery life which rivals Sony.Too bad it's too big for my hands because the display resolution is also pretty high and not as atrociously low res as the 6I don't find Skype as good as FaceTime. And no iMessage either. The z5 is nice no doubt but if you like iPhone it won't make you switch. The 4K premium is really a waste because there's only a few apps that will display anything in 4K and it's by default 1080p due to saving battery life. The fingerprint sensor I believe is on the side which can be awkward as well. Oh and again is there even Sony support close to Apple?
The battery life can be good if you don't tax the z5. The performance isn't as good if you look at benchmarks too. But if you really value battery life more than say a 6s plus then the mate 8 is supposed to have killer life with a 4000 mah battery.
Somewhat more of an aside than anything, but it seems like we more or less established based on a variety of previous posts that there's something more going on with your device than is the case for most others. As much as the battery life of the 6 is ABSOLUTELY horrible the Plus model has outstanding battery life which rivals Sony.Too bad it's too big for my hands because the display resolution is also pretty high and not as atrociously low res as the 6

Oled screens give me a headache, and I appreciate the shoutout.I can absolutely guarantee you that if the iPhone 6S had a Quad HD SuperAmoled screen with the best colour accuracy and the Samsung Galaxy S6 had a 750p LCD screen with poorer colour accuracy...
...I7guy would not be saying "well the Galaxy S6 screen is better with my eyes".
Nothing is wrong with it.I even checked the battery capacity using Coconut Battery. That is the normal battery life of a 6 .That moron Ive JUST HAD TO make it 6.9mm thin instead of making it a little thicker and fitting a larger battery.I am sure no one would mind those 0.7MM of extra thickness for an extra 3 hour battery life.Somewhat more of an aside than anything, but it seems like we more or less established based on a variety of previous posts that there's something more going on with your device than is the case for most others.
Have you even looked at the latest gen OLED panels leaving aside your blind hate?Oled screens give me a headache, and I appreciate the shoutout.
*cough*blind hate

Apple is just too arrogant to focus on the battery for once and give the iPhone a larger battery.Just look at Samsung. They understood customer complaints about battery life on the S6 and gave the S7 a huge battery.I expect Apple will fully do the opposite
Um can you discuss the topic and not the poster? It's certainly my perogative to state an opinion here.Have you even looked at the latest gen OLED panels leaving aside your blind hate?
While I agree that certainly some thickness can be just fine especially with the prospect of additional battery life, based on various recent and past posts, it does seem that your phone still falls into what I would refer to as the below average category in regards to battery life and some things like stutters and maybe some other glitches.Nothing is wrong with it.I even checked the battery capacity using Coconut Battery. That is the normal battery life of a 6 .That moron Ive JUST HAD TO make it 6.9mm thin instead of making it a little thicker and fitting a larger battery.I am sure no one would mind those 0.7MM of extra thickness for an extra 3 hour battery life.

If the S7 Edge ran iOS,it would outsell iPhone 10 to 1I also hope Apple increases the resolution on the 2016 flagships. 750p on a 650 dollar phone, in 2016 is not cool IMO. Give the + quad HD and the 7 1080p.
Sammy's screens are amazing. I got a chance to play with the S7 Edge at my job, some days ago, and the phone is awesome. The screen is beautiful. I've said it once and I'll say it again...the S7 makes the iPhone look dated as hell. It just does. It's crazy to say that when back in 2010, it was apple's device that made every other phone out at the time look dated. Man if only that S7 Edge ran iOS or atleast stock android.

I am comparing it with the existing iPhone designIt would be an iPhone lol. So that iPhone would outsell the s7 edge 20 to 1.

The iPhone 7 I agree should get 1080p and it probably will be (non s year phones when the redesigns happen are typically when Apple either ups resolution and/or screen size.) For the 7+ I would think if it did also get a resolution bump, it would be to its native res of 1250p so that it would no longer have to render 1250p then downscale back to 1080p.
1440p is just too much a battery drain, and Apple knows this.
There's a reason Android phones require larger batteries to equal an iPhone battery life that have smaller batteries. A lot of that is having to drive the 1440p display (There are other reasons why typically Androids need larger batteries, but the display is a major one)
iPhone I wouldn't count on 1440P until 2018 when Apple is said to be making the OLED or maybe even microLED switch off of LCD.
You make it sound as if 1440P is pointless. If it was then why are Android manufacturers not sticking to 720P and going for 2K?Whats funny is that you will probably change your tune once I ask you the same question when Apple adopts itThe iPhone 7 I agree should get 1080p and it probably will be (non s year phones when the redesigns happen are typically when Apple either ups resolution and/or screen size.) Because android manufacturers need to have a spec war in order to woo customers? With an ardent fan base, record breaking sales and $150b in the bank Apple ensures it's phones are on point every aspect of them and doesn't have to throw "not ready for prime time technology" too woo customers. You make it sound as if 1440P is pointless. If it was then why are Android manufacturers not sticking to 720P and going for 2K?Whats funny is that you will probably change your tune once I ask you the same question when Apple adopts it
