Great, I'd have to buy more ****ing cables to replace the ones in my bedroom, living room, car and office.
I'm glad you bought a 6s, too. There will be ways to listen and charge at the same time. There will even be ways to listen through earphones and charge at the same time. I expect the iPhone 7 to be the best-selling iPhone ever (or rather the best-selling iPhone so far).Insanity. Hope these rumors are wrong. Glad I bought a 6s, I would not want a phone without a headphone jack; without it, you could not listen and charge the device at the same time, not to mention the ubiquity of the 3.5mm jack. Foolish. Observe sales crater if this turns out to be the case.
It's a dedication to thinness. What is their freakin' obsession with thinness? Keep the 1mm and provide better battery life!
So all they need to do is have one additional difference on the "pro" model.Coming out with a 7 "pro" where the only difference is a dual-lens camera would just be stupid.
these are just rumors.
I don' t mind about the 3.5 mm, but I also don' t care about a second speaker.
I am not worried about the soc either.
Apple has shown large improvements with all new releases.
Like the fact there will be no lines on the back and a flush camera.
I am just worried about the design and the screen.
I really hope the rumors about the dimensions (width, height)of the unibody iPhone 7 are not true.
It would mean that the large chins and bezels wil still be the same as the 6/s+.
Or they would have to increase screen size to 4.9 and 5.7 inch to shrink the bezels.
They could, but they also should bring a new 4 to 4.2 inch iPhone 7 for people that want a smaller iPhone , or the se is so advanced, they won' t have to.
Now the screen itself. I really hope the 4.7 inch gets a minimal res of 1920x1080 and the 5.5 inch of 2560x1440.
But Apple always goes for a thin design, which has the cost of lower batter life.
So my guess is they wil go for 1704x960 and 2208x1242 at the most. And that would be a shame.
I like the rumors of the iPhone pro though, but they would have to add more than just a better/dual lens camera.
The pro should have a better soc with more memory, faster gpu, a way to multitask/split screen.
And a smaller footprint , by making in screen touchid, in screen home button by 3D Touch, etc.
if we are gonna pay more for it, they have to deliver the latest tech.
Actually the pro is what Apple needs to maintain margins . It would have to be cutting edge tech that can' t ship in large quantities right now, has low yields, so is expensive right now.
By starting to produce this cutting tech for the iPhone pro , the yields will improve over time, and will be cheaper to produce in time.
This way Apple will be able to implement this tech in the next gen cheaper, "non-pro"' iPhones and maintain margins.
This is the only way to push innovation in iPhones for Apple and maintain their so precious margins.
You don' t have to like it, but that is just the way Apple works.
Why would you have to buy more cables?Great, I'd have to buy more ****ing cables to replace the ones in my bedroom, living room, car and office.
Because no reading comprehension. Why would you have to buy more cables?
Because reading the article and comprehending its meaning is too difficult. Why would you have to buy more cables?
I concur.Because no reading comprehension.
Because I made an idiotic, knee jerk reaction to a headline and failed to read? Why would you have to buy more cables?
nope.. it's always been because of apple's obsession with thinness. form over function. they could've added a bigger battery instead, and that would've made the camera lens flush. looks like they still haven't learned if the rumor of the 7 being even thinner is true..
Thinner phone - hell no!
People simply can't read nowadays.ATTENTION MR READERS: the Lightning Port is not changing. The cutout is getting smaller. It will not effect your current cables or accessories, and you will still be able to use all of them.
I would love if they also ditched the vibration button and create a toggle for CC. As I've stated before, that's one less hardware thing that could eventually break.
Glad to see Apple leading the way with innovations like stereo sound.
Because the feel in ones hand of holding something substantial is not the only point - the damned thin ones slip from easily. If battery and all other things the same, why wouldn't you want a thinner phone?
Apple are now repeating the mistakes of the pre Jobs era, there is simply too many SKU's for their products, in this case the iPhone and iPad line, they need simplified.
While Apple don't officially sell the 5c it is still available from carriers, but being a non tech savvy consumer who wants an iPhone or iPad must be a confusing experience now. Numerous iPad mini's, two iPad Air's, an iPad Pro and possibly a 9.7" iPad Pro to supersede the Air line up.
As for iPhone you'll have the 5c, 5s, SE, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, and 6s Plus all available to you depending on where you shop.
The product line up needs simplified, massively.

About time Apple got rid of the headphone jack. Personally I haven't used it a single time since I got my iPhone 6 Plus.

I actually prefer the hardware toggle. I can switch the phone to silent while it's in my pocket. It's handy for those quick impromptu meetings at work where I can switch the phone to silent while walking into the meeting and not having to fish my phone out of my pocket.
Getting rid of the headphone jack is a stupid idea--really hope they don't do that.
lol Sorry to ruin all the fun!Oh man... Why'd go and do that? I was dying laughing watching everyone getting so frothed up.
True if you're about over-ear headphones. Earbuds however, if the weakest link fails you just gotta chuck them in the bin sadly.
